I received some pretty good feedback on the last video I posted so I decided to make another showing off some of the other changes in 1.08. Kept this one short and sweet this time haha.
I did a bit better with word mixups/rambling but I repeat some phrases quite a lot. "As you can see" "Pretty good stuff". Oh well...
I for one am looking forward to patch 1.08, it should bring some more life back into the game. I'm still hoping to be able to switch acts in a single game. Also Act 2, 4 and whimsyshire could use a bit more monster density. Overall pretty good though!
Hope you guys enjoy, thanks to everyone who left me feedback on my last video!
Thank you, Spinley. I'd give ya a +2 but I can't :Thumbs Up:
I've been curious what the changes were like and this summed it up quick and complete.
Blizz did a good job here, lots of helpful little quality of life changes that were needed.
Still.....11 months....I cannot believe we had to individually ID these items for 11 months. Just wow that it took soooo long.
I'm really looking forward to the itemization changes that will come later, after this patch. I really want to upgrade my monk. I'm sitting on 300 million (a lot for a scrub like me) but I refuse to spend any significant amount of gold until the itemization patch. I have a feeling that many are doing the same, which may be having a hidden effect on the economy.
Hmmm... I was wondering. Have you had a legendary drop on the PTR? And if so... did it make the ID All cast longer?!
No, the only legendary I found I IDed it right away not thinking. When I was making this video I was trying to find a legendary to use with the ID all but gave up after awhile since I had homework to do.

I'll never understand why games want to have a cast bar for every single item you craft. I mean, I can go make a sandwich while my items craft, but why should I have to? Why not just make it work like Identify All?

Well, I've been guilty of making similar comments, but the truth is we aren't privy to the inner workings of their code. It is entirely possible that the craft/ID queue timer is directly part of a fail-safe dupe/exploit protection.
I tried 108 on ptr and the onlything new is what he showed, and half of that should have been in the game long ago. as for the monster density all i could tell is a lot of white mobs and the same amount of elite and rares, so nothing really new on that part. maybe that will change before it goes live
oh yeah. Months of waiting for an ID all , Craft all and more white mobs in Act 1,2,4 sad
In this specific case, it gives you a chance to cancel in case you craft an item you are looking for, saving mats. I like it.
That's kind of the bright-side approach I try to take too, but if I want to look at every item before crafting the next one, the system already supported that.

Perhaps, but certainly not in every game. To be honest though, I don't really understand craft timers at all. The only benefit I see is it gives you a chance to cancel if you accidentally try to craft the wrong thing, but that's not enough to justify the waste of time. I think the main reason we see it everywhere is it's a way to artificially extend the amount of time you spend playing without actually requiring any work on their end.

Thank for this vid. All those new icons for multiplayer are quite nice. No one is quite communicative in co-op games anymore.... well..... no one was that communicative in Diablo 2 either.... all i can remember is: "PP", "TP pls", "Next Baal Run 023".... back on track!
Those icons help a bit with the coordination of random parties, so it's just a thumb up.
About auto crafts, i only find it usefull for gems, if you are one of those guys crafting them in huge chucks, but for blacksmith, i just check every single craft i do. I don't see myself letting good old Haedrig doing multiple craft at once while i take a sandwich! I want to see each one carefully and not waste further mats and gold if i got a great roll!
And... Identify All, i almost forgot about that... Well.... a great quality of life improvement, nothing else to say. (Just.... wow.... a bit late to implement that, but better late than never).
Thanks again Overneathe! I was very excited to see my video posted on the front page! I'll post any other videos I make that are new and relevant on these forums as the feedback has been truly awesome.

Edit: To follow up on your question;
Hmmm... I was wondering. Have you had a legendary drop on the PTR? And if so... did it make the ID All cast longer?!
It does NOT change the timer. I had a full inventory of rares with one set item in it and the cast timer was the same (about 4-5 seconds)
