There are so many particles constantly being generated on-screen, more aesthetic additions will slow performance down. Sure, I'd like things to be even more graphically awesome, but you gotta look out for the players who don't run supercomputers.
lol, sounds like you need to switch antivirus programs. I don't think you would need a supercomputer to run the game if it added a glow to armor, but I do see your point. I guess I just miss some of the little things D2 did that they forgot about.
malware blocked huh, great first link there buddy.
No problem for me either, on a work computer with 3 different anti-virus programs
You should never run more than one Anti-Virus program on a single computer. The unfortunate thing about Anti-Virus software is that they hate each other, in a sense, and count each other as a malicious program. Basically what's happening is that your programs are distracted with each other and not doing their jobs correctly.

Off Topic: It's always a big no no to have more than one AV on a PC at a time. I did that at one time and it actually caused my computer to lock up every time upon login. Very strange stuff can happen.
On Topic: It would be nice but it really seems like an afterthought in the first place.
First thing any IT guy would do is uninstall at least 2 of them.
Yep. They often conflict which causes serious issues.....and I'm certainly no IT guy. I have a preventative anti-virus as well as an after-the-fact Malware Bytes scanner.
On Topic: I actually assumed the glow effect would be transferred over to D3. When I found out it did not, .....kinda scratched my head. Sometimes I'm not sure what angle the devs are firing from. They used the same color for sets....they even used many of the old names...but they dropped the glow.
IMO....The sets with 4+ pieces DO NOT have a good enough 'final piece' bonus affix to compel people to wear full sets, as well, the cool ass glow isn't gonna happen either.
I've said it before, of all the various aspects of D3.....everything combined, gameplay, graphics, skill system, story line etc...all other aspects of Diablo combined aren't nearly as important to the game as the itemization.
Until they figure a way to blow our minds with an embellished itemization template, this game will remain as potential unfulfilled.

Yup. I've said it before, every time someone praises the gameplay/combat. Without proper itemisation/loot, it's just a glorified God of War.
Yeah...I gotcha on that Maka.
I'm not on the hate bandwagon, I've only been playing HC 'self found' lately. Much of the reason for this is to make itemization seem more compelling, as the AH just makes it too easy and the items all have the same flavor it seems.
All that being said; Of all the aspects of D3 that they worked on for the 10 years it was in and out of development, how...HOW could itemization been launched so flat and uninspired? Those legendaries at launch....I mean what the fucking fuck could possibly have caused them to launch with items in that sorry state?

They designed legendaries based from the D2 itemization system and not their new "Equips-are-what-makes-your-character-literally" system. They didn't even give it a second thought.
I still maintain that it ended up being a rushed launch. I think that they kept scrapping systems and redesigning stuff, until one day one of the higher-ups just shouted "LAUNCH IT!", and that was it.
I'm sure we all remember that the game was pushed back after reports came down from Blizz that D3 should launch in 2011. The "higher ups" most definitely had a play in this dubious launch, most likely with concern toward stockholders. The business end of a project like this is ugly.
The sales projections likely weren't far off from what the actual sales reflected. You see, every business quarter that went by....represented a lush $10,000,000 + just sitting in their backroom, so to speak. The game we know as Diablo 3, this beloved, extremely anticipated title, viewed by core-fans as sacred, was nothing to those suits but overstock.
If they held onto this "overstock" much longer, then shareholders may sell-off, driving their stock prices down etc.
1) They rushed the release in a way gamers were never been witness of
or...
2) Their testers were playing Farmville the whole time.
I don't like the term "rushed" being used in this context.
When they enter into a project like this, deadlines follow. They had 10 years+ to develop this game, so accusing them of rushing it ....just hits the ear wrong.
I believe the real issue was what happened with the development process, the leadership namely. i.e. The development was terribly handled.
I didn't expect the game to be "done" at launch. I certainly hoped not. I hoped it would witness the same drastic evolution that D2 went through, as we are seeing definite signs of.
No reasonable person expected the game to be "done" at launch. The term "done" is wrong here. "Our" (the players) issue with the state of launch wasn't that the game wasn't complete. "Our" issue was that the game was frankly....terrible at launch. Incomplete is fine with me....fuck yeah I'm willing to play the game as it grows around me. Hell yeahs I will. But the game was so bad at launch, if I wasn't such a manly man I woulda cried a little.
Sadly, if the game had been launched in it's current 1.07 state, things would've been very different. The reception far less icy. I moderate at a longtime (2004) Diablo 2-3 trade site. After 2008 or so, our website became near a ghost town. Right before launch, old members came rushing back. I saw names of members that had been gone for 5 years+. After less than a month, most of them never came back, the website is again a ghost town, with the exception of our Diablo 2 trade forums. How odd

Pfft, ahahahaha. I love IT guys.
I have no say. If I did, I'd install D3 here so I can camp the AH 24/7.

It's amazing that IT departments in companies are run by people who understand less about computers than any average 15 year old kid.
