people tend to focus too much on the bad than the good when they give reviews. thats why movies have terrible reviews even when they are good movies. even the dark knight has a low B rating in reviews when it was one of the most epic movies of all time.

I've seen where a lot of nitpicks cause people to give game reviews of 1/10 on gamefaqs.com just because the game wasn't the same as their favorite game or they had a complaint that really wasn't a problem with the game itself. This happened alot when MW3 fanboys and BF3 fanboys alike would poorly review the competition just because Modern Warfare is not Battlefield. It makes no sense to me.
I do, however, like to read bad reviews like that. Because, if I can find a review that rates something 1/10 and I say to myself "well that doesn't sound that bad at all, really" then that product just might be okay.
As an added note: Let's face it, reviews are all about personal oppinion and you are never going to please everyone 100% of the time. What 95% of a populations loves, 5% will somehow hate. But if we all liked the same things, the world wouldn't be as interesting a place.

have you not ready anythign about why its online only? 100x less piracy/hacking/duping. and they especially need this with the RMAH so there isnt a super influx of fake goods for real money or people hacking the game and making real money. its a lawsuit waiting to happen. while the game will still eventually be hacked in some way and people will figure out small ways to dupe, it SIGNIFICANTLY reduces it. having the full game be on your computer makes it almost stupid-simple to hack and dupe.

wow man, OP, you need to like.. play a few other games.
reading your post, it seems like you haven't played anything other than diablo 2 in the last 10 years. complaining about the UI? have you played other games like SWTOR, League of Legends, literally any other game? d3's UI is leagues ahead of everything. you are nitpicking every little thing you can about the game that 99% of sane people don't give a flying fuck about. you say that the front page post asks for your beta impressions. that's true, they asked for your impressions about gameplay, not about how the X on items in your inventory that aren't for you class is too big. seriously, wtf?
you say things seem "generic". generic compared to what? i've played through the game as every class and not only is every ability unique and useful in its own way, they also synergize fantastically with other abilities. walking into a group of mobs with the wizard and frost novaing then doing the leaping stomp ability is incredibly satisfying. what do you expect from the first 13 levels? the things you are complaining about... i don't even know what to say.
let me point out just one more nonsensical comment you made. the level-ups are boring one. you gain a new skill, and that's it, Q Q Q no stat allocation Q Q Q. so, you don't feel any different slaying monsters after getting a new skill that you are now using to kill the monsters.. new skill.. that you didn't have before level up.. doesn't feel different? what?
all in all, spare us your stupidity and just go back to playing d2. this kind of review is not constructive at all. you just keep saying how things feel "off" (i.e. they don't feel like d2, the game you obviously have played 24/7 for the past 10 years, never touching a single other game that has come out since).

That is not why it's online only. That may be what they say and a by-product of their actions, but it is not the reason. It's simply to make sure that every single person playing the game will try and use the auction house, which will be where they make their money. If you are playing offline, you are not using the auction house, thus Blizzard can't make any money off you.
Blizzard stated that when they were creating Bnet 2.0, they were making it so good that you would not ever want to play offline, that it would be a choice and that you would be insane to choose the offline version with all of the "bonuses" they were throwing into the online version. I guess in their mind "playing the game in the first place" is a bonus...
If I was playing offline, dupes/hacks/cheating would not be an issue, as I would not be playing online to experience them! I would also be able to play if Blizzards servers hiccuup!

It is not a Demo, but a testing version. I will play through it with every class, so I can get an overall feel of the game. Not once did I say that I hated the game. I simply saw areas where improvement could be made. Right now it is an above average game that needs a bit of work. Sorry if that doesn't jive with your opinion, but so be it. Newsflash: People can have differing opinions to your own and still be right! Wow, who'd a thunk...?
These thoughts were my initial impressions, and there will be more to come once I have played with all of the characters under my belt. It's part of the obligation you have as a Beta Tester. I don't know how many Beta Tests you've been a part of, but it certainly seems as if you don't take them seriously...

tin foil hat much? dont be one of those paranoid turds who believes thats the only reason. thats just ONE of the many reasons why its online only. piracy and hacking is first and foremost. gaming companies are going nutso over piracy trying to pass SOPA because of it. so they care the most about piracy. wither there was an offline mode or not if you wanted to use the RMAH its there for u to use, forcing you to be online always doesnt somehow force you to use the RMAH... rofl... i feel zero obligation to use the RMAH wither im online or offline. it doesnt change.

actually, i do take them seriously and i'm sure i have reported about 10x as many bugs as you have. i have also offered some specific balancing issues between the classes as i have experience in the area being a part of S2 Games' hero balancing and patch server pre-testing private group. and also, i am not a "kool-aid drinker" there are many problems with this game which i will be outlining in a large and detailed post once i have completed my run through of the witch doctor, the final class that i have to play before i have experienced the ENTIRETY of the beta (that means exploring every dungeon, killing every mob, using every skill in every room, opening every box, destroying every crate, clicking on everything that can be clicked on and using every skill on every mob type in every situation). one thing i do not do is nitpick about stupid shit like this that doesn't deserve blizzard's attention and time which should be spent elsewhere on far more important matters than giving you the false sense of customization that stat allocation is. that out dated, out moded, cumbersome, and ultimately useless mechanic which adds nothing to the gameplay and should NEVER BE MENTIONED ON THIS FORUM AGAIN.
your logic is flawed. kind of like your argument about how if you played offline your experience would not be affected by the dupers who are allowed an avenue through the offline option to ruin the gameplay experience for the rest of us. yes, you would not be affected, but the rest of us would. this is just another example of your me-me-me instant gratification mindset that has driven you to post this lengthy "criticism" of a bunch of shit that you think is wrong but is really just your preference. like how the UI looks. that is a preference and it is one that almost nobody else shares.
