It just makes no sense that they preached to us the delay is because they need more time to make a perfect game to Blizzard standard no matter how angry everyone gets, its "how they make games, its ready when its ready."
I'm sorry but you have already cut soooo much content from the game so its ironic that its still not ready.
What did they cut out again?
I know they've delayed PVP and will release it with a patch, they've taken out runes as items and added them to the skills system but I can't recall what it is they've actually cut out apart from the talisman that stores charms and the death animations like the barb getting his head bit off from the first video.
The skill points being cut was because they were too lazy to come up with a solution.
meh, you only have yourself s to blame for you frustrations. stop getting your hopes up. look forward to the game, hope it comes out soon. but dont be all upset when it doesnt come out when you think it should. regardless of what any of you say, the game will sell MILLIONS of copies. and very fast, and will most likely have a lot of people playing it for a long time. in 5 years people would read a thread like this and laugh at us.
calm down, go have a smoke or whatever you choose to do to relax, and stop flaming Blizzard corp or employees for your inability to separate fantasy (when you think it comes out) from reality (when it will actually come out).
but meh, nobody is going to actually listen to any suggestions anyone posts here. thats the nature of the internet i guess....

Except that legitimate damage is being done to their brand image and community relations. It has nothing to do with copies that will be sold, legit damage is being done right now and if you dont realize that then you are completely ignorant of marketing and PR as departments of business in general.

Damage would be done, no matter how fast they will throw out the game.
The peoples complaining on the internet, about how slow they are, is around 5% of the players who is going to play the game. The rest almost don't care, and can actually wait for the game to be released in silence.
Just because you see alot of peoples talk about it, doesn't mean it is everybody. You gotta remember lot of players don't even go to forums to complain.
exactly. then think of the fact that of those small percent of people who are complaining about it now. even fewer will continue to complain once they are busy fighting hells minions in the game. and an even smaller, i would dare say minuscule amount, are going to never buy the game because of the fallacies they perceive right now.
I would challenge you to show me any actual monetary, professional, or otherwise measurable "damage" being done to the company. The majority of the complaints right now are revolving around the release date. Any "damage" done by this will be all but erased once the game is out. There is no community or brand name damage happening, as you seem to believe, because as soon as the game comes out all that goes away to be replaced by more realistic complaints (aka game bugs). Any damage you perceive right now is not actually significant in the grand scheme of things. (note i said "that you can perceive", as there may be real game design damage, or game management damage being done in the background, but none of us will be able to see any that until after the game comes out. and going off of Blizzards track record, I would say this isnt likely.)
but as i said, rant on brother. you are entitled to your own belief of what is happening. please just keep in mind what you believe will not effect reality. Im just trying to help you all calm down and get on with your lives. (think of it this way. with all the time we are ALL going to waste once the game comes out, I would think the precious few days we have left should be spent productively. Heck, go get some overtime at work, you will need the money when you take 3 weeks off to do "just one last mission".)
I can't understand all this rampaging...
I have played Diablo I, Diablo II and i'm going to play Diablo III for sure.
10 years have passed since the second chapter but i haven't lived a worse life cause i didn't have the third one... it's ridiculous all of this... 100 pages of whining cause they haven't announced the date of release today!!! and they even didn't say they would do.
I'd be really really happy to know that tomorrow it will be the shipping date but if it's not i'm not going to jump under a train, nor i'm going to kill Bashiok or Jay Wilson families.
Their only error was to think they were speaking with adult people who can judge a "we are almost there" with at least a dog like brain... but they were terribly wrong about this...
My 2 cents
Your 2 cents are that other peoples perceptions, experiences and beliefs are wrong because yours are different?

Looking forward to the game and it’s probably going to be great, but Blizzard are handling the situation very poorly. People get frustrated because they are making obviously cryptic statements that can be misinterpreted, along with iffy time windows like: soon, days, weeks, when that’s obviously not the case. But you know what? I’ll be 50 in a few days, everyone’s invited ~ 11600 to go.
Thats not something they can fix. people can misinterpret everything. Thats the problem of the person, not the company.
Dynamic Death Animations
The Talisman
Skill Points
The Mystic
As the major things that have been cut. The Death animations and talisman don't really matter much so why are people saying they've cut sooo much from the game is there anything else I've forgotton?
As for the skill points and the runes integrated into the skill system thing, I can see how that would really piss people off. The customisation now relies totally on gear as every "naked" class will be exactly the same at level 60 thanks to access to all skills and runes as well as auto stats.
My biggest gripe is now the better players will be the most lucky players, or the richest thanks to the RMAH. There's nothing stopping them from going online to see what the better skill combos are and the strategy behind using them.
As I mentioned earlier- it's nice to hope for stuff to happen- but when you go overboard and burst the bubble- that's when you start formulating reasons to start hating. If you guys dissect every little piece of information for more information you're just going to end up disappointing yourself. It's fun to speculate- but there's really no need to go around bashing Bashiok and the others. I'm sure they're working hard to get the game out.
I do agree they could've handled their PR WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than they have- but having been disappointed this way before- we should really be mature enough to just take it easy and chill out

The fact that you dont think these damages are measurable (including ways that arent just # of copies sold), or that they are happenening at all just shows a level of ignorance to what PR and marketing are. Activision spends 100s of millions of dollars on marketing and PR, and how the 5% of people who give feedback online react to said PR is VERY important to them. You don't work in the industry or PR or marketing, so I understand that you dont get it. I suggest you do a little research into these fields before you walk around asserting that no one's reactions to how they are handling this matters at all, because it very much does.

I would have no problem at all if the game was released in 1, 2 or 6 months. Whats bothering me is how Jay is saying "in the coming weeks" "sign of release" "counting down the days untill release date annoucement"
Still, we gets nothing at all.
If Jay just shut the fuck up and released the game in 4 months, I would be happy.
