or.. it just dosnt bug me... People seem to forget they dont have to tell us anything.. ill take early, for w/e it means. as long as thats before july.
The only thing that seems to bug you is your forum members. You bashed everyone for talking about this best buy thing as though they were misguided idiots, then suddenly it's front page news???
With the way societal personality seems to be taking shape.... People will be angry that they don't get games for free roughly 10 years from now. Awful lot of self-righteous indignation and sense of entitlement about this game, a game designed by a company that actually bothered to patch their games and fix their products when they had problems. I recall the frustration about the wait for Diablo II, and the frustration was high, but it wasn't to the bizarre levels that it's reached now.
This is just a game after all. Not a cure for any great disease. Not an end to any wars. It's not even an important piece of literature. It's a video game. One that I'm sure we will all enjoy very much. But still... Just a video game.

never once bashed a single person, ever. You're allowed not to agree with people, the whole point of forums is posting your views.. nothing wrong with a good debate! ( I like them )

For me its not when the game gets out, I can wait until 2014 if so needed. What I don't like is the way Blizzard is treating the fans. Give us a bone now and then. Heck even if something is not totally solid still keep us in the loop. Runes are a good example, we are watching data-mined information would It be so hard/bad if blizzard just released a video on how things are ATM and add that the information may change. Instead of keeping information from the fans keep them close.. Happy fans = more sales.
Exactly. We're intelligent, PAYING fans, treat us like that please. Tell us what's going on, and why we don't have this game already. Whether we deserve to or not is up to opinion, but whether or not it's good business is really not.
Correct me if i am mistaken; Retailer as " Best Buy" or others can not put a countdown or a game poster in front of their store without even having at least a contract of quite numbers of the game boxes from the main supply of Blizz. IMO if they did not do like i explained ( or even speculated ) they will lose their reputation especially on such anticipating game ( that a lot of people avg of millions waiting for it to be released) besides when it comes for pre-ordering and paying money it comes to a red neck ppl for abusing ( including me whom i can feel getting abused for false releasing date from a retailer).
what you think?
yeah I think it starts at if you trust them or not.. and then goes from there.
I mean yeah, id love to get more exact information from them... But I think about the fact most companies dont say a word until the release date... some people like that, and thats fine. But me... well, I like haven -some- kind of idea. I just look at it as its better than them saying nothing at all.
(but I guess it comes down to like I said, the poeple that dont trust them, feel that is what they are saying, nothing at all) So I guess thats where the difference in the thoughts comes in.
ohwell, I'm still cross my fingers for some kind of information at the feb meeting, but at this rate, it looks like it will be the same as the last one "We are still on track for early 12"
Nice marketing ploy by best buy to get more preorders

"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"

That's exactly what I mean. Instead of them creating a brand new definition of what "early 2012" is, just say it like it is. I'd be cool with that.
"Hey, it will be done when it's done and we have no damn idea of when that will be. Sorry about the whole 'early 2012' thing, we weren't thinking. Peace."
That's what I'm saying. It's always our misunderstanding or misinterpretation or something along those lines. And it never comes with up front information from them. It's very patronizing and insulting.
I find it intensely irritating that they have to quantify early 2012 as not necessarily being Q1. Calling *any* day before July 2nd "early" is kind of ridiculous. And at this point I wouldn't put it past them to release it late this year or even the beginning of next. This unending "polishing" phase is insane. As an artist, there is a point where you have to stop and call your piece finished, otherwise the production of your work will go on forever.
I'm sure many feel the same way but I felt I needed to voice my opinion.

I know what your saying there as an artist you tend to over analyze and some times over detail eventually going so deep it loses its thunder it had to begin with -- Most artist do suffer from OCD though so its understandable
As many are saying....
I just don't trust ANYTHING Blizzard says about release dates anymore. And someone said something about trusting them.... Hey, i did... for 2 years, but then i realized that they've like politicians.... They say so many positive words, while not giving a crap to keeping them.
Just think, how many "Diablo 3 Not Confirmed for Q1" messages is it we have gotten during these years? no matter how many times they say it, they never do it. Aim here, aim there.... Blizzard, your aim SUCKS.
"The fans are happy as long as they get their game!" is what blizzard is thinking.... and so, they push it and push it just to earn a little more. And more and more fans keeps getting pissed off at how they are acting. Blizzard is starting to get bad reputation, which will really show on how many "new" buyers they will get. As many would rather buy from a company that can be trusted and keeps their words.
And blizzard can neither be trusted or keep their words anymore. The only thing in their head is money...
This poster may be legit but the dates on it are pure Best Buy homemade (yellow band and clock settings).
People should obviously stop hyping this thing and spreading misinformation.
Now there was a lot of things lately that still indicates that we may get an announcement before the end of the month but febuRARY 1st is out of the question.
Update 3: It gets more interesting! When we called the Rochester, Minnesota Best Buy this morning, a manager explained that the sign has been taken down as a directive from the store's "GM" (general manager), not because the manufacturer had asked but because the manufacturer has been "not very firm" in picking a launch date. As many had guessed (per the misspelling of "February," among other things), the signage was made in-house and not sent by Blizzard. If you happen to spot any similar signage in your local big box retailer, don't hesitate to contact us!
For those of us that are frustrated and feel disrespected by Blizzard I would recommend emailing a complaint. Not sure if it would have any impact but if minor action was taken aside from arguing on forums perhaps Blizzard would take notice.
I emailed mine earlier today.
Again, not sure if this would help - but I figure it's worth a shot. It would just be nice to be kept in the loop a little more than we are now. Blizzard has been pretty deceiving with their statements lately and that's not really necessary.
I feel sad for the people, fans actually, who actually believed this to be true. It shows they know nothing about Blizzard and they have to learn to look for information. "IT'S TRUE!!1 IT WAS STATED AS SUCH ON TEH INTERNETS!!1!!".
