DiabloFans Says Farewell
It is with great sadness that I must announce the closure of DiabloFans. Our site has been a pillar of the Diablo community for many years, but due to the fading interest in current Diablo products and business realities for Curse, it is time for DiabloFans to say farewell.
On March 21st, DiabloFans will be transitioned into Archive Mode. Users will still be able to view content on the site while it is archived, but will be unable to create or edit any existing builds or posts on the site.
Personally, this news is quite surreal. I joined the DiabloFans team in late 2017 as the Community Manager and remained as such until shortly after BlizzCon 2018. During my time as Community Manager, I had the privilege of interacting with some of the most passionate fans of the Diablo franchise. You, the community, have been a constant inspiration with your amazing creativity and passion.
DiabloFans was a site that I used almost daily for many years prior to joining the team, and it was my primary source for finding new and interesting builds in Diablo 3. Without DiabloFans, there will be a great void for many of the other Diablo community sites to fill, but I have no doubt that they will do an excellent job.
I encourage our community to use d3planner to create and share builds in the same way you have used DiabloFans. For those who want to stay up to date and discuss the latest news regarding Diablo, I would suggest the Diablo Subreddit. Additionally, for those looking for more information on the game in general or a way to contribute to the community in a meaningful way, check out the Diablo wiki. Also, feel free to share other community sites in the comments before March 21, 2019!
Thank you for all of your support over the years, and may your future adventures in Sanctuary be filled with plentiful and glorious loot.
Sad day for the Diablo community.
Farewell guys and best of luck to your future endeavors.
I blame Blizzard for this, it is sad to see you go! Good luck with what you are doing!
I want to take a minute to say thank you guys for the amazing new we have received throughout the years. You guys have been an amazing source of information. I still check this site every day in the hope of some promising Diablo news but unfortunately, just like you guys said perfectly, the interest in the game has died down. Thank you all and I hope you guys are happy and healthy in your life!
Well, this isn't my original DiabloFans account, but I just wanted to say thank you to all of those whom have been a part of this great place within the Diablo 3 community. This site and it's members have been invaluable to Diablo 3, and I am so very bummed to see it go.
I remember winning a Diablo 3 beta key here on these forums, and just how incredibly exciting and intoxicating that time and this place was. I have not since then been more excited for the new release of a game. What endless possibilities the future held in those days for Diablo 3. I have enjoyed Diablo 3 a great deal for what it became to be, but indeed like so many, it still feels like a dream unfulfilled. I truly value Diablo, the Diablo community, and the experiences we have enjoyed thus far, but it all could have, and should have been so much more for everyone of you.
I'm left saddened and bitter with Blizzard, and I don't believe it can or will ever be repaired. I'm not disappointed about what I have missed personally, but what this entire famished and starving community have been robbed of. There isn't a more deserving and passionate community of people who should have something tangible to enrich their lives with. I feel most for the content creators and others in the community who choose to fulfill employment within such barren desert of a franchise. It's really hard to keep my resentment of Blizzard from bleeding into this response. However, I am really grateful and supportive of the Diablo community and all of those who helped to make the community the passionate group that it always will be. We've had some great experiences, and I think the community itself are the ones who have the potential to create many more.
Cheers

You have been one of the most important content creators for diablo in recent years, its a pitty blizzard are so far from their customers that it lead to this.
Be well all Diablofans, protect Sanctuary at all cost!
So sad to see this happening. Even though I have slacked quite a lot lately, but this was always Nr1 source for any diablo related stuff. But it is as it is and I was happy to have been around since the start. Maybe stuff is coming back when D4 hits the surface in 2030. Take care and I wish everyone all the best.
This is very sad news. Thank you for everything and farewell.
Will this page be back if Diablo IV turns out playable?
So sad to read this. I have been using this site for a long time. Hell I remember when this was Diablo3.com. When there was no D3 and only a whisper. Thank all of you guys for doing this and being there when literally there was no one else not even Blizzard. Wish you guys the best.
This is so sad
RIP You will be missed
If a consortium of fans wanted to take over the diablofans url and the underlying code and theme the site runs on would you be open to selling?
I'm sure there are a number of us among the community here that would be willing to keep the site up and running if you were interested in that?
Would love to help!
It may not be possible because of Curse owing the site and traffic from ads belong to whoever takes over the site...
Well, the past years I have just been a lurker and my "re-obtained" account does not reflect my time here. Losing this global pillar of the diablo community is a big loss - at least it is for me. I have met players like Bagstone or Kallizk here, was trolling sometimes and especially during the release back then the wizard sub-forum was my default page.
From an economic point-of-view, I can understand this decision: This page did not have a lot of activity regarding both aspects: news- and forum-wise during the past months or maybe even during the past two till three years. Still, it was always my first source of information but Curse network has to manage its resources, i.e. not "wasting" efforts on a dead game. And by saying dead, I blame Blizzard - not Curse, not the forum moderators, not all the other Diablo addicts like me.
This really hurts...I am 33 years old and when I started with D1 back then I was frightened upon entering the monastery. There is probably no other game franchise which has been a part of my life for such a long time. Hopefully, this site will get reactivated or we will find a new home.
Thanks to the whole diablofans crew!
Kind regards,
Andy

Come on now, at least don't give us any BS excuses, we already know why. @OSW_Zenkiki
It won't be anything to do with the game, it will be because the new owners have no interest in the fansites. They were only after the wikis under the Gamepedia brand.
What is the reason why this website stops? Is there any possibility to keep it online?
Sad news indeed ! ... been an avid user since the beginning ... the wealth of knowledge and builds was a cornerstone to try out and document information for the D3 community. You will be missed and thank you for the years of service. Thanks for making the archives available for reference. Take care.

I want to give my sincere thanks and appreciation for this amazing website and all the work the creators and fans and designers displayed to make it one of the most incredible and one of a kind sites ever. Diablo Fans will be missed but never forgotten.
Thank you.
