Lightning Talk on Buff Bar feat. Wyatt Cheng
In the Diablo area on this year's BlizzCon developers made small presentations talking about topics of interest for the community. One of these topics was redesigning the buff bar with Wyatt Cheng himself! They have recently started uploading these lightning talks to the official Diablo youtube channel. Watch the latest one below.
Limited Rebirths
Wyatt Cheng explained on a Reddit thread why there is a limited amount of rebirths in the new Patch available to players. It apparently comes down to an issue when transferring the character's items, so they went with the lesser of two evils. Read more below.

An alternative option that was considered was allowing unlimited rebirthds but requiring you to clear your incoming mail. The problem there is that this option would require players coming back after an extended break to have to clear their incoming mail to participate in the new season - which defeats one of the primary objectives of the rebirth feature in the first place.
So this means that in its current iteration, you have unlimited time to claim the items that your character unequips by being reborn? No - you have 30 days.
Will console players get this buff UI improvements as we have only ever had 5 buff slots unlike our superior PC counterparts?
Just another example of how Blizzards backwards thinking on having such limited stash space has impacted negatively other parts of their game.
The ONLY thing holding back Diablo from being a great game for me is the limited stash space.
It is quite sad how they are so stubborn on this and don't see the limited stash as last remaining huge problem with the game that it is. I can respect an astounding number of impressive things the developers and designers of this game have done, but limiting stash space this severely is just plain wrong and makes ZERO sense.
By the way, if anyone even tries to say it's because the storage space would cost too much or the technology isn't there yet, then said person has no idea what they are talking about. Blizzard devs are not that inept. This is an ongoing design decision by the, and it's holding their game back in a HUGE way.
The amount of additional build experimentation I would be doing if I had tons more stash space just boggles my mind. I just don't understand how they can be so dense on this topic.
I dont get the whole "ZOMG GIVE MORE STASH SPACE" thing... I have never ONCE found my self in need of more tabs then what is given there is no reason to keep 8 copies of 1 item when you are allready using the best of the 9 maybe 2 extra if that it just makes no sense why people cant deal with the space.
Some good changes in 2.4 but they really need to start banning botters / tukui users in smaller waves randomly and more often, give cheaters the idea they do not dodge the bullet, ofcourse always make sure some one flagged for banwave is only flagged if confirmed fully, but the end result should be that people get to afraid to cheat, and the community calms down.
Take a look at valve anti cheat and how they deal with it, valve actually suffers issues to but you hear a lot less about it cos they actively show they still ban cheaters.
You don't always need detection software to see some one cheating also, it can help flag some one for investigation so some one can keep eye on some one's behaviour to flag it for permanent ban.
Blizzard attitude is way to soft especially if you look at world of warcraft, and its non existant more or less in diablo 3, this attitude needs to change asap or it will destroy blizzard.
eagerly awaiting this umbra game and the new season of d3
playing more than one character. on hardcore. two different specs and therefore sets. non-ancient versions of items with a needed legendary power for another spec you are gearing towards.
imho the inventory management is flawed since diablo 2. you had your stash per character and you had mules. and accounts. with mules on it.
but blizzard won't think of the better use of items. the cube is a good idea, it gives you the possibility to do something other than disenchanting your items. other than that, your inventory is just overspilling. the whole mailsystem is really bad, too. i dread the end of each season and what it does to me, management-wise.
So why not have Rebirth's regenerate a charge each 30 days? Thus, ensuring, empty mailbox and unlimited Rebirth's?
