I cannot debunk or confirm.
Diablo 3 - Release Date Rumor: April 17th
We are getting a lot of PMs about a leak from an Italian website and at this point it's probably worth mentioning on the front page. A site named mmorpgitalia.it supposedly received information saying that Diablo 3 will be released on April 17.
Even if this news comes with the price structure for the regular and collector editions of the game, it still seems very strange that only one website got the news. Also keep in mind, Blizzard said they would like to give us a two month window before the game is released. This date would only give a little over a month window.
Amazon also reflected the change of date on their italian website but at this time, it's still a very much unconfirmed rumor and it should not be taken as fact yet. Feel free to use this news post to consolidate all discussions about it, and keep in mind that this is probably the 20th rumor we have seen about a release date. The only difference is that Jay Wilson confirmed that an announcement will happen soon.

Activision has revealed Italy to several large retailers Italian release date, some yet to be confirmed at the world average by Blizzard but rather than trust, of Diablo III . This would be the April 17, and prices are now set at € 54.90 for the standard edition and € 89.90 for the Collector.
Since the source is the Italian branch of the same publisher, I would say that after Easter to all the fans who are eagerly awaiting the release of the game will be more than positive. The rest of the dungeon crawler par excellence is almost ready for some time, and the latest statements have been conducted to art to increase even more hype.
I too agree with the above. The inability to debunk now compared to the ability to easily debunk prior makes it seem kinda sketchy, like something is happening behind the scenes. I personally don't believe the rumor, because rumor's lead to disappointments, but I won't rule it completely out either. I guess we'll just have to wait and see for ourselves. "Expect the worst, hope for the best", is the motto I've been clutching when it comes to blizzard release dates.
when it comes to blizzard release dates, 'expect the worst, hope for something not so worse' seems to work better
if it was no true would they just say it was not and stuff and not say i cannot debunk or confirm it. it alittle funny that they can debunk or confirm it at all lol lmao rotf
Worth noting mmorpgitalia is a news site, not a retailer.
Blizzard would NOT being doing "most of us" a favor by delaying Diablo 3 simply because some people have exams and graduations. I hate to burst your bubble but that was an extremely ignorant statement.
Why are you posting then?
The info could have been a "leak of a leak".... so to speak... But with all the work that has been done and the changes made to not at least expect by mid may are mostly just disapointed people. Can't say I blame anyone, I was a very hardcore d2 player back in the day. In fact I only quit about a year before wow came out. Ive been pumped for this ever since they announced it.
Just remember wether it is this specific date or a little further ahead D3 is finally almost here, it's right around the corner. It will be a sweet sweet day to put on our hard drives. Hang in there bros! (and broettes)
If it had been a case of the person only posting "I don't care", then your question would be justified. However, that is not the case here. Mayne is saying that the rumor isn't worthy of attention since it's not even sourced from Blizzard. I personally don't really care about the rumor either, but I make it my business to be aware of what's going on.
Worth noting that Amazon also found out about the leak...and they are a retailer.
