My general advise is that you first gamble your ancient weapons. Weapons are a relatively rare drop, especially ancient so over the course of finding/sharding these you'll drop enough set pieces regardless.

posted a message on Survey - Diablo III and Leaderboards

I do apologize for the Dutch link, I wasn't really paying attention to that at the time of posting as I had been using SurveyMonkey in English yet it defaulted to Dutch, presumably because I used my Facebook account to register.

If you find me an idiot because of that, fair enough, may be a little harsh.

    @CrayZ1430,

The time spent is indeed per day, 0-5hrs is the category most people will indeed fall under, however I know a decent bit of people from my own circle of contacts that easily exceed this limit (currently it's 23,00% of the survey's results).

Regarding the several game modes, I am only asking if someone tries to rank, is ranked and how high that person is ranked, where the last question has a comment box to specify the game mode. This was done on purpose as players simply play in different ways, some will never play solo while others won't even have a second person in their party at any given moment.

And regarding your last point, the question is "Do you try to rank on the leaderboards?" also does include those that are trying to place on the leaderboards in the first place.

I can see where most of your criticism comes from though and will try to keep it in mind for another survey if I am to do one.

    Diablo 3 and Leaderboards

    Hello there fellow Diablo players,

In an attempt to find out how many people play Diablo 3 from a competitive point of view and how many peoply play just for fun, I setup this quick and easy survey. I would appreciate it a whole lot if you'd take some of your time to fill out these questions.

    Thanks in advance!

RNG has to favor you, it's the same with quite a lot of items. Also on average you get one every 500 hours in your case, it doesn't mean that after 500 hours it'll magically appear. If you play for 500 hours and all goes by averages, it could drop in the first hour, the fifth, the 430th and even in the last hour and you wouldn't see one again until for the rest of the 500 hours (on average).

    TL;DR: RNG.

You can check my current setup out here:http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Epixors-2432/hero/23839502

Keeping up Vampire Bats with PtV is ridiculously easy if you are playing at the appropiate level, if you don't have enough toughness to stand still and take a few hits (which I rarely do because of fetishes + Spirit Walk anyway) you're not meant to be using a VB spec.

Left Click:Firebats/Vampire Bats: Main damage dealer and fetish generator, speaks for itself
Right Click:BBV/Slam Dance: DPS Cooldown for the entire party, up for mostly every elite due to Grave Injustice, depends how close they're stacked together and how many white mobs you get though. Great in rifts imo.

Skill 1:Spirit Walk/Jaunt or Spirit Walk/Healing Journey: I like both runes and switch them up based on difficulty, on higher difficulty levels (T3 or T4) I generally take Healing Journey and lower Jaunt.
Skill 2:Soul Harvest/Vengeful Spirit or Soul Harvest/Siphon or Soul Harvest/Souls to Waste: I like all runes, I don't usually roll with Souls to Waste but a lot of people prefer the higher duration on it but I use it rather frequently anyway because of damage or healing.
Skill 3:Piranhas/Piranhado: Great crowd control, off cooldown almost constantly and a damage boost for everyone in the party.

The last skill slot is really up to you, my choices include

Mass Confusion/Mass Hysteria: Use it mostly because of my Haunt of Vaxo which summons clones when I stun, it's good control and fun to make elites smash themselves to bit.

Hex/Angry Chicken: Offers movement and insane damage, I can one-shot whites with this on T3 (only have 18% increased physical damage). Off cooldown alot because of Grave Injustice. Not 100% but it can be used very very often.

Grasp of the Dead/Death is Life: I have The Grin Reaper and they cast this spell causing lots of health globes to drop to get Gruesome Feast stacks, also offers control.

Passive 1:Pierce the Veil: Great damage boost as we barely use mana at all/
Passive 2:Grave Injustice: Regenerate life, mana and lower your cooldowns. Pretty much required to make the build function well, especially for Piranhado.
Passive 3:Gruesome Feast: I use it mostly for the intelligence bonus, I can maintain a few stacks quite decently. Also nice if you do run out of resource that health globes can give it back.
Passive 4:Fetish Sycophants: Deal great damage for no effort at all, really strong and help keep mobs off of you.

    posted a message on [2.0.3] Low-Torment Speedfarming Build- y u so mad?

    Introduction

Hello there, fellow slayers of demons and monsters alike. Lately I have been obsessed with speed and killing stuff on the move, and that's how this build came to be. It attempts to be moving very quickly most of the time while killing packs of monsters. It's primary aim is to quickly move from elite to elite, chest to chest, Wretched Mother to Wretched Mother etc.

To achieve this, I use the following setup: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#ciUdXj!WTh!ZbacZY

    Skills

    LMB: Firebats - Vampire Bats

I use this skill for two reasons:

    • It's fire damage and I have pretty good Magefists
    • It has no channeling cost so it is great in combination with Pierce the Veil
You can switch this out with any spender you like. It's used to quickly dispatch of elite packs what won't die from the Angry Chicken + Vengeful Spirit combo. Make sure to position yourself correctly before starting to cast because it still costs mana to activate it. RMB: Hex - Angry Chicken

This is the star of the build. You move at great speed and explode for a ton of damage in the face of your enemies. This is also the reason why the build is for a low torment level (or below torment). You should use this to move, explode in a pack of white mobs that'll mostly die instantly and because of Grave Injustice, Tribal Rites and cooldown reduction it should instantly be available again. I suggest you use SH/Vengeful Spirit if any mobs are still alive after the explosion to ensure Hex is back up again.

Skill 1: Spirit Walk - Jaunt

Spirit Walk is here because it allows us to move more freely around the battlefield, whereas Angry Chicken is restricted to the physical realm. I use the Jaunt rune just because it allows me to walk longer but Umbral Shock is great too acting pretty much exactly the same as Angry Chicken. You can use any of the other runes but I feel like either Jaunt or Umbral Shock are optimal.

Skill 2: Soul Harvest - Vengeful Spirit

First of all, Soul Harvest in itself is amazing simply because it increases our intellect. By using Vengeful Spirit we can kill mobs while on the move. This skill is to be used either as a damaging spell while using Spirit Walk or to reduce cooldowns on Jaunt and Angry Chicken by killing monsters. I really recommend using the Vengeful Spirit rune because it usually ensures that stuff is dead and you can move on like a mad man pretty much instantly after you arrive leaving behind a ton of dead corpses.
    Skill 3: Horrify - Stalker

A straight up movement speed buff which I use before I pop Angry Chicken or Jaunt. I don't use this to fear mobs, but if you get overwhelmed and need some space to breath it's a nice skill. You can replace this with other skills but because I'm using this for fast movement I really like this one.

Skill 4: Mass Confusion - Paranoia

Really, this skill is completely optional. I suggest you use a DPS cooldown here to quickly burst down a somewhat tougher mob but you can use any skill you like here like summons or Locust Swarm or anything like that.

    Passives

    Pierce the Veil

Because this build is not mana intensive at all, having no channeling cost and the only mana drain is from the start of casting Vampire Bats it is a great skill to use. If you have enough DPS I suggest switching to Spirit Vessel to reduce the cooldown on Jaunt, Horrify and Soul Harvest.

    Grave Injustice

Bread and butter of the build. Reducing the cooldowns of your skills by 1 second per kill that is in the range is insanely powerful and allows you to spam your cooldowns like mad.

    Tribal Rites

Used to reduce the cooldown of Hex and Mass Confusion. From personal experience I prefer this over Spirit Vessel, but you can take that as well.

    Gear and Paragon Points

    Stat Priorities

Attempt to maximize your DPS and have enough toughness to survive the difficulty you want to farm, and then try to squeeze in some cooldown reduction where you can. It is not required for the build at all but it should make it somewhat faster.

    Paragon Points

You need to reach your movement speed cap (25%) . I reach this cap from gear alone but if you don't put in some points towards it in the Core category. I use Cooldown Reduction in the Offense category. I like to put points in All Resist for defense and Area Damage for Utility but they are up to personal preference.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you have fun trying this build out.
