Just wanted to pop in and say that this thread is very helpful. I had a similar dilemma as another poster having an ancient The Barber that rolled really well, and a non-ancient PS that rolled terribly. I decided to keep using the Barber in hopes of simply finding a better PS (I don't think I could possibly find a worse one).
Worth noting to anyone who doesn't know, but the odds of getting a PS using a yellow dagger in the cube and upgrading is literally better than a 33% chance, I think it's 40%. (only 3 possible results, and one of them is more rare than the PS and Barber).
So my current build is based on lightning hammerdin since the only viable weapon I have been blessed with by the RNG gods is a Schaefer's. My total lightning damage in-game is about 775k. I'm using the Cain's 3pc for the magic find because there are still tons of pieces I need. I do wish my dmg was higher, so could use advice on getting my damage up. I play T2 when solo just fine, and when grouped I play T3-4, but don't feel like I contribute as much as I would like to.
Worth noting, in my stash I do have a Stone of Jordan (with cold dmg which would need to be rerolled to the appropriate ele, and the other primary stats are weak, so not even sure if it's worth using) and a nicely rolled Cindercoat, so the only thing preventing me from going a fire spec is my lack of a viable weapon.
So I just got the xpac the other day, finished clearing act V to unlock adventure mode, and have been doing some bounties for the experience. I'm currently level 65, so I'm almost there. I was just wondering what the most efficient way to level is, that will also set me up pretty nicely for when I hit 70?
I'm guessing that I should just keep clearing the bounties, and stock pile all the rift fragments and blood shards, and then use all the blood shards right when I hit 70 and start doing rifts then as well?
Also, any other tips for when I hit 70 would be great as well.

Any chance you could just give a brief summary of your take on the PTR? Any interesting new builds, changes to builds, etc?
