I totally understand where you are coming from with this :) I'm just lucky enough that I love Archon play so can cumulate both ^^

Too bad you're on US, I'm sure I would have 2-3 upgrades for you in my stash.

I bought a decent Skorn today for only 1.5M and things got a ton easier. What's nice is that I can keep any of my items that are more useful for archon and then switch back and forth as desired.

Edit: just thought of a question I've been meaning to ask. Does anyone know how well meteor (comet) would do as a replacement for blizzard? I feel like it might be a tradeoff between burst damage and coverage area.

Nylarthotep: In general, for channeling sleet storm, lower attacks per second is preferable to help manage AP cost per second. As to Vile Wards - they're simply out of my budget at the moment. All the ones with good int, vit, all res, armor, etc have been super expensive lately. I actually sold my last pair for more than double what I paid for them. I got a lucky int roll on those crafted shoulders, and they gave me +5k damage over vile wards with a net loss of around 35 all res (higher int made up for some of it).

As for fun vs. efficiency: if my only concern were effeciency, I'd roll CMWW or Archon again. I'm all about some fun :Thumbs Up:

Once my budget is higher, I'll go for a nice set of shoulders and some ring upgrades. Storm Crow is definitely on the "do want" list, as are different pants, boots, then chest. Frostburns may also be something I want to look into if I can make up for the loss of stats.

Hierophant - I think you might actually be on my friends list. If you gave me a weapon, it would have been last year when I was gearing up for CMWW. That was a fun new playstyle for me then, and if you helped that, I appreciate it. Your sleet storm build incorporates some of the skills I'd like to run once I'm better geared.

Peter - Your build is very much like the one from the video I linked. I'm changing mine to be a little more like that sometime soon. I'd drop crit mass, but having diamond skin up for the -7 AP is pretty nice. I think I won't need it once I can manage AP better.

Recently, I came back to D3 on the advice of a friend who told me that many of my previous complaints had at least been covered with a band-aid. Some appear to have been adressed completely, and I'm enjoying the game far more than I did in Summer 2012 (I last played around Oct 2012).

When I returned to the game, my level 60 wizard's gear (over 8 months old) was was just good enough to finish Inferno for the first time (on MP0). I was feeling pretty good about being able to finish Inferno, so I decided to start making plans to work my way up the MP levels.

I geared for a pretty typical Archon build, and that has been fun, but I don't think it really suits my playstyle. It also became a bit tedious and "samey," since you try to spend as much time in Archon mode as possible. These are important points to start with - I recognize the power and efficiency of Archon. If I built a gear set on 1B gold, I know that an Archon build would be more efficient than my current build for farming.

I first saw the idea of a snow globe wizard in this video:
The idea seemed fun and viable, and Prozaic did a good job explaining the build concepts. Since both blizzard and sleet storm received some buffs since his video, the build seems even more viable.

I'm looking to refine my current build a bit for more damage and better AP efficiency. Obviously I want to improve my gear. So here's where I'm at right now:

    http://us.battle.net...89/hero/4228819

My gear is not great, but I am currently farming Act I MP2 very comfortably. Knockback and fast/fire chains give me a little trouble sometimes. The leaping type mobs are the hardest elite/champion packs for me.

So currently I'm sitting at around 83k sheet dps with around 300k EHP. My attack speed is way too high, so I'm burning up a ton more AP than I want.

So here are my plans for the immediate future:

Drop Familiar (Arcanot) for Magic Weapon (Conduit).

Obtain a high dps, high life steal, high crit damage 2h weapon. It looks like I'll be able to afford a Skorn at around 1300dps, 170% crit damage, 320+ int, 5.2+ LS at some point in the near future. So far Skorn is the only weapon that has the stat's I'm looking for, but I would greatly appreciate any other suggestions.

Next, my rings, belt, and pants could definitely use an upgrade. Eventually I'll want to look at a new chest as well.

I would love to hear suggestions from the most excellent people of this forum. I will preemptively eliminate a few suggestions I have already received from others:

    1. Drop this build for CMWW. No.
    2. Drop CM for some other seemingly more appropriate passive. EDIT: I would like advice about using 1h vs 2h with CM.
    3. Pick up a Vile Ward. No, my shoulders are better for me than any Vile Wards I can find under 100M.
    4. Dude, archon is totally more efficient; you should just stick with that! No.

Again, I would appreciate any insight or advice that the forum can provide - thank you in advance for any replies.

Unless changes are forced in a major patch, WW barb will likely continue to be the most efficient farmer. CMWW would probably be the "safest" for MP10.
