I have spent around ~4000(gloves) shards now, and not gotten one legendary yet. It seems to me either I am having really have luck or they didn't change the chance. I know it's RNG but really, there is not much other point in running rifts for shards now when the rift itself on T6 drops oodles of legendaries.
you make no sense, are you trying to tell me you didn't pick up legendaries because you were farming for shards? or are you saying you aren't going to pick up shards because you get enough legendaries from the rift? or did you just make a stupid post about getting free shit from doing something you do anyway?

posted a message on Kadala has terrible drops so why do people close rifts after boss?
Don't know what the problem is, I cleared many rifts and got a ton of legendaries as you say, something like 50 in 1 day. you know how many of those legendaries i was looking for and actually usefull? 2, and they were mediocre, replaced yellows on alts. i went to kadala, within 2hrs and spent maybe 3000 shards i walked away 2 set pieces, they werent overly great pieces but still once the 6 set kicks better than not having a 6 set, i can work on better later.

Its not the fact that drop rates are great, its the fact you can MASSIVELY reduce the legendary pool so you can actually receive the legendary you want rather than rubbish.

oh and by the way, why are you complaining something you get for free while doing something you would normally do anyway if bloodshards didn't exist? you said so your self, you get X amount of legendaries from rifts, you also get bloodshards from rifts, so what ever kadala is giving you is ONTOP of the legendaries you have already recieved.

Is it so hard to understand that game built on GRINDING actually requires GRINDING

Clearly you have not used unity, theoretically i guess what you say could be correct, reality though. 4 people using unity = 4 dead people. I was the only melee in a 4 man group 3 of us were using unity (we didn't check before we went in) I killed the 2 ranged in seconds. using unity in group play was NEVER its purpose Solo play with invulnerable followers is
I'll go out on a limb here and state that you aren't a developer of Diablo 3, so you can't make such statements that an item was designed for this type of play and not another type of play. It is definitely true that Blizzard has supported the use of Unity on Followers, specifically by saying that it is working as intended and that it's a creative use of mechanics. However, it would be foolish to say that Blizzard didn't implement Unity with the idea that two (or more) players could also use the item. Some classes take far less damage than others or have abilities that can mitigate damage easier. Blizzard has always advertised Diablo 3 as a multiplayer game first, but supported solo play.
Sorry for the late reply only just caught that someone had replied, like i said there were 3 of us wearing the ring 2 ranged 1 melee. if ranged are taking more damage than melee they are doing something wrong, so lets mix it up a little lets add melee into the mix, chances are more melee characters would be taking just as much damage as the other melee characters at best the ring will cancel itself out so that is pointless, but like i said AT BEST. the problem now here is theoretical mechanics. i take damage 50% of that feeds to someone else, but hang on now they have taken damage from me, feeding back to me another 25% of my original damage back to me, in turn i bounce it back to them, this is why followers don't take damage with that invulnerable relic/focus/token

oh and http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/11890059972#13 you said so yourself, as "intended" perhaps you don't quite know what "intended" means, i take it meaning using it for anything other than a follower is as you say "creative use of mechanics"

Unity is an item that disappoints me as well. I can complete greater rift 27 in time, but 28 I'm short by just a few seconds, only because I die 1-2 times. I imagine then that at higher level rifts, dying would happen nearly all the time for me. But then Blizzard comes along and says, "Wait, you can take 50% less damage!" All you need to do is find two Unity rings and a legendary for your follower so they can't die.

I always imagined Unity to be something that a group of players would use, so that four players all using Unity would have a far more even distribution of spiked damage, such that one person standing in the fire is off-loading half of that damage to someone else who isn't. In its current form though, this isn't at all how Unity is used. Instead, Unity is a gimmick that gives a static 50% damage reduction because of another legendary that prevents them from dying.

To put this into perspective, imagine the rune for Call of the Ancients, Together as One, which divides 50% of the damage you take amongst the three ancients. This doesn't work at all in practice, because once you get to levels where that 50% is the difference between you being alive or dead, your ancients are taking so much damage from it that they fall over dead instantly. The only thing stopping your follower from following the same demise is a legendary.

To further put that into perspective, imagine there was another four piece set that, instead of allowing your ancients to stay until they die, it prevented them from dying (while they were out). And with Ring of Royal Grandeur, let's assume you could have both sets active (just as I have both Raekor and IK full set bonuses).

Every Barbarian would be stupid not to run a 50% damage reduction set. It might as well read, "You take 50% less damage from all sources" then, because that's what Unity reads like. And once you reach that wall where you have two options: more damage, or more survivability, the choice is forced on you, because you can't do much damage when you're dead.

I believe this is what OP is getting at Jamoose. It's an artificial barrier. Yes, Greater Rifts aren't supposed to go on forever, but at the same time, putting ONE option into the game that EVERY player has to use to get past a barrier, is poor item implementation and gameplay design. In other words, you can't get an item that increases your damage enough to kill creatures before they kill you, but you can get an item that significantly reduces incoming damage so that you can do the same damage and eventually kill them.

The problem? One of your ring slots isn't interchangeable with anything else, one of your follower's rings is locked in as well, as is their focus/token/relic. What's the point of introducing additional legendary items such as the one that reduces cooldown by 50% of follower skills, if the only people who can use it are those who haven't reached the wall requiring them to use unity+(skeleton key/smoking thurible/enchanting favor)?

They could put out one that says "Your follower dealer 100% more damage" and people would still be stuck using "Your follower cannot die" legendary. At what point does mandatory equipment lose its fun value?

what would stop this 100 % is 1 single round of ban hammering away.. simply take all the people who has been using this (do a zone registry and see who has gained massive amounts of exp in town) then ban them.. then lets see how many will actually use the next "exploit" found!

it only needs to happen once.. then lets see how big the "balls" on the exploiters are..
    lmao
seriously? do you have any idea how many people have been banned for botting? not just in this game but WoW also. do you even realise how prevalent it still is? honestly people DON'T learn. with every new exploit or cheat there will ALWAYS be a wave of new fresh people willing to give it a shot
first of all, botting and exploiting is not the same ! botting is a series of mechanisms, not controlled by you, made to perform a certain task.. exploiting is using a flaw/bug in the game, to gain maximum advantage for your self, dispite the outcome of the community/game.

hmm, do you understand that there is no value in d3, there is no market to sell items, like there is in wow.. there is a big difference between loosing a bot account which you have nothing on, who only makes revenue vs loosing your account you play on.. a ban in d3 is worth so much more then one in world of warcraft.. But yeah, lets say they ban 100 people, out of thoose, 25 will quit the game and the remaining will buy a new account.. then we allready removed 25 % of the idiots.. only 75 % to go.. and thoose 75 people will have to start all over !

but as u say, every exploit there will be a wave of people doing it, and then we will ban a wave of people.. i dont get where u want to go with your post.. i see a point in banning them, every time.. its the only way they will learn.. if you dont think so thats fair enough, but im not gonna discuss it :) this is my oppinion and what i would like to see happen :)
You missed the point entirely, you are saying it would take 1 round of bans to stop the problem and everyone would be too scared to do it. it doesn't matter if its bots or exploits, MY point is they have done this many times in WoW and even D3 yet it continues.

Funny how everybody is ruining everybody elses game :D

Here are some perspectives for you guys :

    - Yes, it is bug abusing, and you should not do it. If the bug is too obviously a bug and too many people abuse it, there have been bans in the past (in wow mainly).

    - No, it is not ruining your fun. Unless you are in the 0.010% top players, you dont have a competitive shot at any ladder ranking anyway. So stop daydreaming.
Except paragon......... i stopped playing a while back because well monks weren't in a good place, i pretty much ruled out hopes of t6, came back on release of ladders, and oh hey everyone above me on leaderboards has 200+ paragon levels than me. is it my fault? partly yes it was my choice to stop playing, but then again leaderboards didn't exist when i stopped now paragon play a huge part on how well you do on a leaderboard, and paragon is determined by what you have done prior to the release of leaderboards

posted a message on The Legendary Gems are horribly imbalanced.
    @OP

Clearly sir if this is accurate you have done your research for one particular class, i tried Mirinae, Teardrop of the Starweaver on my DH, and sentries do not proc this gem, as far as i am aware pets in general do not proc any of your so called top 3 gems, making them 100% useless for pet/sentry specced classes at the moment i'm having the best success with Bane of the Trapped and Enforcer

As for your other gem, my main is monk up to rift 35, right now until i can find a weapon with LoH Simplicitiy's Strength is what is keeping me alive. as for Taeguk this is supposedly one of the best gems possible for a monk, 3pc Inna's mean Sweeping wind costs 5 spirit to maintain the stacks on this gem, keeping this gem active for 75% of the time should out perform Mirinae, Teardrop of the Starweaver, how ever with the likes of flying dragon this gem does insane amounts of damage. the higher you go in rifts the more damage we will take, problem being gear is only going to do so much to a point, get to lets say rift 45 as melee, when gems are boosting damage but survivability remains the same, all of a sudden Simplicity's strength and moratorium are going to start looking very attractive.

Also i'm pretty sure the damage over time gems don't stack, meaning i can hit the mobs as many times as i like i'm still only going to be doing X amount of damage per second, where Marinae is instant, the faster i hit the more procs i get making it VERY valuable for fast hitting classes

TLDR: research gems with ALL classes before making posts because it depends on Class, gear, and spec which gems will be valuable

posted a message on Monk issues
well 2h for a monk are pretty bad, better off finding a couple of 1h with sockets, that will help with attack speed and you will notice a difference in damage from generators, if you are not going for any particular elemental damage then way of 100 fists with the first rune is probably the highest damage, if you are looking at elemental damage deadly reach seems the most popular and the knock up also provides a little CC also.

your gear however, i'm having a hard time trying to figure out why you have 3 different crafted set pieces and not taking any 2 piece bonuses. i think perhaps you should start there

your spec itself seems fine although i would reccomend taking a few survival passives especially in HC, i'd switch out SSS for WOHF and Air Ally for healing ally.

posted a message on A fix to split farming that is also a buff to trade.
Well you see i think you are misinterpreting the situation. What you say would have been true prior to RoS but with the new loot system and way we are receiving loot is vastly different. Although legendaries are our objective we are not really farming legendaries perse. Instead we are farming Caches knowing we will get legendaries from said caches and mobs along the way. Same goes for rifts, we are not farming legendaries we are farming for bloodshards knowing we will get legendaries along the way. It can also be argued that just because we are not standing on top of each other killing the same mobs as each doesn't mean we aren't playing multiplayer properly, at the end of the day whether we are doing rifts or split farming or what ever we are bunch of people in the same group working to achieve a common goal. It is done on difficulties the individual can handle on their own, its not like this is happening much on t6 (i'm sure some OP classes/players maybe be doing this or end up doing this in future) but the majority wont be

i think most things have been covered here, try to get some kind of synergy with you skills though. pick an ele type and stick with it. Your gear has different +ele types giving small boosts to skills when you want a large boost to your main damage dealer. I'm kind of just starting to experiment in tor 6 at the moment i'm getting there but my gear still needs a little work, i'll post it anyway and hopefully you'll see what we're trying to explain.
