posted a message on You know, I remember a time...
    Quote from Belloc
Do you really want to know what happened? What changed? You're probably not going to like it. Still want to know? Okay, here goes:

Cheating in Diablo 3 doesn't affect you. D3 is a coop game and cheating is only frowned upon in competitive games. Yes, I realize that some elements of Seasons are "competitive," but not in such a way that exploiting some XP gain by sitting in town is going to give you an unfair advantage.

Look at any online competitive game and you'll see that cheating is frowned upon and actioned whenever possible. Look at games like Counter-Strike or CoD and you'll see communities that are completely against cheating because it actually has a negative impact on their personal enjoyment of the game. Now let's compare that to Diablo 3.

In Diablo 3, you wouldn't even know that someone is cheating unless you were watching their stream. Wow, that really screws up the game for YOU, doesn't it? ... No, it doesn't.

That's what happened. I said you wouldn't like it.

TL;DR: Nothing has changed. Cheating is still frowned upon and cheaters still hide in the shadows... except on Diablo 3... because it doesn't affect anyone aside from themselves.
I really like this post and everything in it. Bans or resets in diablo type game are just silly to me. I bought the game, I should be able to play it in any way I want and so should everybody else.

posted a message on piranha DMG amplification question
If you apply your dots before you use pirhanas they shouldn't benefit from the damage amplification at all. You need to cast pirhanas before you cast your dots if you want them to benefit from the damage increase.

posted a message on Anyone tried a 2h with Jade ?
No doubt 2h is going to be a very compelling choice for jade especially with the 2h buff since attack speed is virtually useless the higher damage range on 2hs is very strong. For straight up damage 2h will most definitely be better, I think the biggest question is whether that damage increase will outweigh the loss of mojo special effects. I'm inclined to say that it will be worth it but I haven't been able to test it out myself yet.

Fucking losers.... This is why I hate the internet culture, anyone with money wants to be famous for ten seconds.
DDOS serves a purpose. Security is not something that you set it and forget it. If battle.net is secure and configure correctly, then DDOS wouldn't take place.

Let's put it this way: you are luck that it is only a DDOS attack instead of a security leak where million of PII and CC are compromised.
i don't think you quiet understand how these DDOS attacks are happening. These aren't a matter of battle.net security and there is very little blizzard can do about it.

posted a message on Disintegrate build - does attack speed matter ?
For channel spells that are potentially resource bound (disengrate) you generally favor a slower attack speed weapon (possibly even 2h with the changes in 2.1) because it allows you to channel for longer before you run out of resources.

posted a message on New computer build lags in d3 ros..
Did you do a clean install of the operating system and d3 when you built the computer? If your operating system is locking up too I would guess you either have a corrupted install or computer might be having issues reading from the drive (could be the drive or your motherboards sata controller). D3 actually reads from your drives quiet frequently because it doesnt keep things like textures or spell effects in your ram for very long so its constantly accessing your drive which coukd potentially lag you if your drive is malfunctioning. I would try running some drive health tests. I would also say make sure your drives are plugged into a sata port that connects directly to your chipset and make sure you installed your chipset / sata drivers.

posted a message on Correct Order / Formula for Elemental + Skill damage Question
You're doing it correctly. What the people probably were referring to is that multiple sources of the same type are additive, like 20% fire damage on neck and 20% fire damage on bracers is 40% more fire damage and not 44% more, but 20% elite damage and 20% fire damage combined is 44% more famage (against elites).

    http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/2168xn/there_seems_to_be_a_lot_of_misinformation_about/

from a lot of information in this post and other informations I've seen the pity timer is not an hour. One of the blue post specifically says the system is designed to not ever be encountered by 99% of the population and they took several precautions to ensure the system couldn't be exploited.

im fairly confident the "timer" is much longer than an hour and if I had to take a gander it probably calculates total number of item rolls into the equation, so skipping chests and goblins probably won't get you to your pity item any quicker.

posted a message on Gearing for Jade Build
    Quote from nitemarewing8

Also in terms of the build once I have the full set, what do people mostly run? I want to keep my zombie dogs because of the damage mitigation from my mojo + life link, (all builds use pirahnas, haunt, locust swarm and spirit walk and soul harvest, so the only negotiable skill is zombie dogs). Is that viable or better to use horrify in higher torments (with my current gear I can comfortably do T4)
I would opt for horrify. Testing on my own WD really quickly horrify moves my armor from 64% to 78% damage reduction, which is a ~39% effective reduction in damage. You can then also use a Thing of the Deep for your mojo.

posted a message on are WD's gonna suck next patch because they die a lot?
    Quote from copealope

I was playing in a t6 group earlier and 4 or 5 terror demons popped out and 1 shorted me before i could even cast a spell. is that playing my class wrong? and when 8 exarchs charge at you and you die immediately. is that playing your class wrong to? or how about when a savage beast charges you for 60% of your health and your already at 50% hp. or when you have an elite pack that sucks you into lazers or ice you die immediately sometimes. im wearing string of ears and i have plenty of reduced melee damage and physical resist. if you say you never die that is a complete lie unless everyone in your group moves together and is made with a near perfect group combo.i feel like im playing good, its the things that are unavoidable that kill me. like when your in a small room and theres a poison nova you die within 3 seconds.if your spirit walks off cool down. i want to change some of my vit to cdr but im kinda worried ill die even faster.
You have time to press spirit walk or move for all of the things you mentioned. Playing HC solo t6 7.1m toughness, no unity, serpent mojo, horrify, and leaching beasts rune, haven't died yet.

Spirit walk is probably the best defensive skill in the game, witch doctors will be fine. Plus they're nerfing healing globe bonuses and buffing healing on gear and leaching beasts rune is already awesome and it'll just be that much more awesome next patch.

posted a message on What is a Stat Trifecta
It means an item with main stat (int/str/dex) and 3 (tri) damage boosting rolls on your neck, rings and gloves. It is usually attack speed / crit chance / crit damage that people are referring too, but it can also mean CDR or elemental/elite damage.

posted a message on What to reroll on amulet?
Id reroll the poison to crit chance.

6% crit and 20% elemental damage are very close in value if 100% of your damage is of that elemental type, but as a pet build you're pretty much always going to have varying elemental damage sources. You're usually better off going cc/chd/ias on your amulet.

what is the community chat called?

I have an issue with random invites because I like to do t3 and will soon be t4, how do i know whoever im inviting is going to be able to clear the rift gaurdian with me effectively?
You can dps the rift guardian down yourself a bit before inviting people. Just get him down to 5-15% ish and even if you get poorly geared players you should be able to finish the last bit off yourself.

posted a message on Elemental shuffle - what would you like to see?
Id really like some more synergy among skills to support a cold build. I really love frozen arrow ability but high health mobs just take too long to kill with it. I'd like possibly a cold rain of vengeance rune and a few other cold centered abilities to help build a solid cold spec.

also, sentry needs some better runes, like almost all of them are physical I think. I mean come on, physical for the chaining rune?!?

posted a message on Keywarden Changes??
For level 70 each keywarden has its own key and any of them can drop the plan.

Drop rates of the keys are based on torment level, at t1 there is a 25% chance at a key and t6 has a 50% chance at a key.
