posted a message on Black screen?
So i'm playing my seasonal HC crusader. T1, in dreadjudges dreams level 4 rift... as i approach a damn elite, my screen goes black. it's black for about 15 seconds, it seems like a severe lag spike, but i can't do anything, the screen is just black, and the cursor wasn't even there. when the game came back, i had basically no health, and luckily i'm using indestructible so i didn't die, but as it came back the game was very choppy for another 10-15 seconds as i ran away.

has anyone else had this problem? is this an issue with the game? my internet? perhaps my video card is shitting out?

for that group, having a nice tank would probably benefit everyone... if you can get the proper gear, you can more or less kill elites in one shot with bombardment up to T3... i kinda like the crusader but for me they're kinda rough to play til you have gear that is a game changer... i.e. jenkengbord / akkhan set.. otherwise they're still fun and enjoyable to play.

Oh wow ok... so they all turn into torcher or dart guys? The tooltip sounds like it only adds a couple guys to the initial 5
Correct. Yes, the tooltip is messed up.
rock and roll dude thanks for the info!

what about attack speed of fetishes ? do they use character AS or they also have some break points like DH sentries?
i can't give you solid information here... i think it's somewhat based on your attack speed, but if you want them to attack faster, you can get yourself a pair of tasker and theos, and use BBV...

Wonderful, that's exactly what I was looking for... thank you... that link, however, raised another question... the last poster said if the sycophants are dagger torcher or darts.. does that mean you can change what kind of sycophants are spawned based on what skill rune you have selected with FA?

iirc the damage on the fetish army when they are summoned is 180% weapon damage... does anyone know what % weapon damage the sycophants do? Is it all the same?

personally, when D3 came out, i was drawn to the DH and WD about equally... but my friend and my brother both wanted to make DHs, so i went with WD. i liked the WD because they mess around with zombies and stuff, and locust swarm and wall of zombies were awesome when they did the demo video, so thats mostly what drew me to them. as i played the other classes and what not, the WD seemed to be the best bang for your buck in terms of damage and survivability. sure, they don't have all kinds of burst damage, but i like their ability to sustain. barbs are extremely boring for me, and monks i consider the bike with training wheels on it for new D3 players. i HATE the wizard with a passion, he just doesn't do it for me... and the DH, i like, have warmed up to it more, but i don't like how squishy they are, which hopefully changes come 2.1... that being said, i like the way the resource works with a WD... if you're smart with it, you can murder shit all day.. idk... off topic, i also usually play the black guy in video games... lmao... in L4D2 i always play coach, and i got payday 1 around the time it came out and selected chains, who ironically enough is a black guy... so those are a few reasons for why i'm a main WD

i wouldn't consider rolling off a socket and replacing it with another socket to be illogical... silly, maybe, but not illogical.
I can think of several words for that process, including:

    silly
    backwards
    convoluted
    counter-intuitive
    rube goldbergesque
    asinine
    labyrinthine

.... I could go on. But removing a socket so that you can add a socket is one of the stupidest series of actions one could take - it literally doesn't make a goddamned bit of sense at all. I don't know why you're defending it as anything other than stupid. What sense does it make to remove a socket.... so that you can add a socket? To me it makes none at all. At the very least, with the introduction of RG, socket rolls should be disabled on weapons so that we're not removing sockets just to go back and re-add them.

The socket property is completely inferior in every single case because RG is always superior. So, at the very lest, fix that problem.
ok... so disable the socket rolls on items and make RGs drop like hot cakes. or just have sockets roll on everything. or you could just make an item that sockets a weapon for you and not have to alter the way items drop overall. teh latter seems like what blizz wants to do. counter-intuitive or not, i'd like to be able to get 4 good stats on a weapon, and be able to add a socket. you speak as though all items that drop are good. you wouldn't use a RG on an item that you roll a socket off of, have a wasted stat, and roll something desired in place of the given socket (in other words, waste it). you'd want to use it (especially if they're rare as balls) on a weapon that, if given the proper rolls, you can roll a given socket off for that other stat that makes it the best the weapon could be.

what about the people that don't find any RGs? what then are they to do if they remove the socket roll on a weapon? now that seems illogical, backwards, convoluted, asinine.

at most the only thing which would make this better executed is removing the guaranteed sockets on weapons that currently always drop with a socket. this limits you to requiring a perfect roll in order to utilize the reroll on the given socket for a preferred stat.

Everything dropping with a guaranteed socket is definitely a better solution than the current implementation of RG. The issue here is that its use is counter-intuitive, regardless of whether or not you can see that. I don't understand how you perceive this as complaining. If the goal is 5 affixes and a socket there's several good ways to achieve that:

    1. All weapons drop with 5 affixes, user can roll one into a socket
    2. All weapons drop with 4 non-socket affixes, RG is used to add socket
    3. All weapons drop with 4 affixes, RG can be used to add a 5th, user can roll any of the 5 into a socket if there isn't one

ALL of these are better ways to handle it than:
    4. Weapons drop with 4 affixes, RG can be used to add a socket IF there isn't one

This isn't a complaint and I have no idea how you are construing it as that. The issue is that the use of RG in its current form is counter-intuitive. If the goal is to get a socket on your weapon, rolling the existing socket off your weapon should not be a part of that process. It's just illogical.

As for you salvaging items with awesome stats and no sockets, Reaper of Souls features a Mystic NPC that can be used to enchant your gear. She is very useful for just such a situation, and can transform your "almost awesome" socket-less item into an awesome socketed one. You can find more information here: http://www.diablowiki.net/Mystic
this is what you aren't getting... with the Gift, you HAVE a guaranteed socket. simply adding another affix probably goes against what they're trying to accomplish. more items rolling more stats means that people will be finding those better items practically right off the bat. or on the opposite side of the spectrum, someone is unfortunate enough to have 2 shitty rolls on their items all the time, they're still screwed. a lot of weapons do drop with 4 non socket stats (this is what i was referring to with the salvaging good items). and your #3 on that list is more or less how it will function, since rolling 4 affixes on an item will allow you to reroll one of them and then add a 5th (socket).... there isn't anything wrong with the way #4 functions, all this is saying is "i can't use my current weapon right off the bat because i had bad (or good?) RNG to roll a socket, mainstat, average damage, and another useless stat that i can roll into whatever i want." this is how i see it as complaining. if you look at the RG as an inconvenience because you have to put out more effort to find a new weapon that rolls in such a way that allows you to get 5 stats, then you're simply complaining.

i wouldn't consider rolling off a socket and replacing it with another socket to be illogical... silly, maybe, but not illogical. you can still have the socket on it. like i've said i've found plenty of items that were good, but i had no way to put a socket on it because all the other 4 stats that were on it were what i'd want to have on it. the RG IS a guaranteed socket. the point is, you see how it will function, and the next patch is at a minimum of a month away. in your journeys through the burning hells, keep an eye out for a perfect candidate for a RG, enough said.

Also, i'm well aware of how the mystic works. as far as i know, however, the mystic can't add a 5th stat. so this doesn't work, because my almost awesome item needs the stats that it came with, plus a socket. simply being able to add it with the RG seems more logical in this instance.

Unreal, people... who cares if items are rendered useless after the gift is implemented... its designed to make a shitty item with no socket useful... you're using your current weapon now, right? Who cares if you already rolled a different stat? In 2 months after the patch hits its not gonna matter. New items drop every day. *wait for it* work for a better weapon, what's the problem? You wanna know a solution to this? Save weapons that roll well minus a socket, and has a stat you can roll to whatever you want. There are no 'problems' with this item. You people need to wake up and stop complaining about having to work to get things.
What makes you think nobody worked to get the weapons they currently have? *wait for it* Maybe that's why people are upset the weapon they worked for will be rendered useless.
Lol@ this... the fact that people worked hard is irrelevant, people worked hard for their level 60 gear which became useless At RoS launch... so your point is moot... are you done farming or are you going to continue to do so? Finding a new weapon is simply a matter of time... and as I said before, start saving possible options now and quit cryin
Ok, so if finding the right weapon is a matter of time, fine. Why even have a RG ? Why not just make sure the existing issues in weapons affixes are fixed in 2.1 and leave it at that. Afterall, a better weapon will drop to those who are patient so why would you even need to RG anything ?

RG as it is addresses a specific group of issues but in the process, causes imbalance.
Because as it stands, weapons drop with 4 primaries... their solution is to allow you to roll 1 useless stat, and still be able to put a socket in the weapon.. no matter how you slice it, you'll still need a weapon to roll perfect in order for a preferred set of stats to be on it. This is a quicker, easier fix than fiddling with stat rolls on weapons. People are gonna bitch regardless so they might as well take the easier route
How is this the easy route? If the problem is that weapons drop with 4 primaries and they should drop with 5 then just make every weapon drop with 5, and let the user roll the worst one into a socket exactly like we've already been doing. All this does is make a socket automatically the worst possible affix and force you to reroll it so you can use RG to get your fifth affix. Do you not see how counter-intuitive that is? You are forced to roll off the socket so you can then add the socket with RG. That makes no sense.
At that rate just make all items drop with a guaranteed socket then... lololol it's the easy route because all they have to do is let you add a 5th, which is a socket... items drop with desired stats and a socket... it's easier to roll the socket off for another desired stat and put a free socket on... I've found plenty of items with awesome stats and no sockets, that I've salvaged... do you hear me complaining because I could have had some sick ass shit? No...
