Unreal, people... who cares if items are rendered useless after the gift is implemented... its designed to make a shitty item with no socket useful... you're using your current weapon now, right? Who cares if you already rolled a different stat? In 2 months after the patch hits its not gonna matter. New items drop every day. *wait for it* work for a better weapon, what's the problem? You wanna know a solution to this? Save weapons that roll well minus a socket, and has a stat you can roll to whatever you want. There are no 'problems' with this item. You people need to wake up and stop complaining about having to work to get things.
What makes you think nobody worked to get the weapons they currently have? *wait for it* Maybe that's why people are upset the weapon they worked for will be rendered useless.
Lol@ this... the fact that people worked hard is irrelevant, people worked hard for their level 60 gear which became useless At RoS launch... so your point is moot... are you done farming or are you going to continue to do so? Finding a new weapon is simply a matter of time... and as I said before, start saving possible options now and quit cryin
Ok, so if finding the right weapon is a matter of time, fine. Why even have a RG ? Why not just make sure the existing issues in weapons affixes are fixed in 2.1 and leave it at that. Afterall, a better weapon will drop to those who are patient so why would you even need to RG anything ?

RG as it is addresses a specific group of issues but in the process, causes imbalance.
Because as it stands, weapons drop with 4 primaries... their solution is to allow you to roll 1 useless stat, and still be able to put a socket in the weapon.. no matter how you slice it, you'll still need a weapon to roll perfect in order for a preferred set of stats to be on it. This is a quicker, easier fix than fiddling with stat rolls on weapons. People are gonna bitch regardless so they might as well take the easier route

posted a message on Haunt targeting question
From my experience, even casting towards off screen monsters still haunts them... you're correct with target casts, one hits the target the other flies towards something near it, but as long as its close enough... if you cast in the area close to a target (not highlighting something) then it will still function as you targeted the closest monster to the cursor (so long as its within a certain distance)

It's just unfortunate that fire builds already do pretty beef stick damage... this is one of the only damaging cold skills next to haunt... I made the cold build to get away from the physical/fire/ pet builds.. now I gotta change to fire so my spirit barrage rolls on items through the enchantress aren't wasted.... ;[

Well part of the issue is I'm waiting on items to drop that simply just won't do that for me.. haha..

And as for a jade build, I'm still waitin on items for that to work as well, so basically I'm beat... I guess I have to figure a way to convert to fire.... sigh

I must admit... this is upsetting.. I've been developing a cold build since RoS launched, and this skill and rune has more or less been the staple.... now I can't use it.... why would they change this rune to fire?

This build is good, it just depends on what torment level you're running... basically I wouldn't take it passed T4... another thing is I used to use this build without the foote, and the damage was pretty Damn nice.. then I got the foote, and since its a 1 hander, I do far less damage but can spam it forever... so that's the trade off... if you do that, then you have better sustained damage but as an above poster said it gets slow... shotgun builds are really fun too and I recently completed the akkhan set and slapped a fire build together and it's comical to play for me so I'll probably take the backlight fire build over everything else

posted a message on Thorns Crusader Video Rift Guide *gameplay*
I'll have to watch these videos when I get outta work... I wanna run thorns on my HC crusader which may be a bad idea but hey, I got a set of balls so why not...

One quick question... do you know if thorns damage is considered physical? If you stack physical skill % does that change the damage they take at all? Thanks!

i see... so you're saying that AR is the best way to go, then? since both of you are referring to a way to buff res. this vexes me greatly... i've been building towards armor. how do you guys feel about the blackthorne set? worth looking into? i appreciate your responses, and i've heard them, and they will be heavily considered. i thank you. does anyone else have anything else to add?

hey there. i've recently got into getting my DH to get into at least T3 / 4 range, and i was wondering a few things, as i don't often play a DH. What kinda stats do you need in order to make your DH take a few hits? which items? a str or int based character are easy enough to gear, as their main stat directly effects their toughness. i realize my DH isn't in top shape, and this isn't a "look at my DH and pick it apart" thread. this is more of a, for those DHs out there kickin ass, whats your secret? from what i'm gathering, i figure armor is the better stat to stack, though you can't completely forget about res. forgive me for being ill informed about the class, i've always found the WD to be more intriguing out of the original 5 character line up, so i haven't given DHs a whole lot of thought. thanks for visiting, and i appreciate any input!

posted a message on my patch 2.0.5 build
Alright, so i did some testing and such. i went into T4, and was having a grand old time. I'm still working on getting the azurewrath / frostburn combo, and i haven't had much luck in crafting a good aughild's helm. blackthorne boots are also being evasive at present. I thought i'd try out fetish sycophants, because, well, why not? I changed up the build yet again, and it helped me burn through T4 elites without any trouble at all... i want to try T5 in the next coming days, just to see if i can do it, which i'm assuming i can so long as i'm careful. if i can get the BT boots and the aughilds helm, i'll shoot right into T6 and test my mettle...

here is the refined build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#geUlVY!RfdV!ZZcccc

also, i've found that this build is very safe and very quick at burning down rift bosses. cheers!
