They are insanely OP. Pets just scale to well and they have an abundance of OP items.

I switched from a Crusader to a WD and absolutely love it. I was extremely lucky and got 3 pc Zunis in my first 20 hours of farming and be able to do T6 in that short amount of time (makes up for 120 hours on Crusader and 0 set items)

    I'm running http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#lcYUPQ!WVTe!bZcabb

Only decent pieces of gear I've got are: Zuni boots/offhand/ring (awful rolls) and a MoJ. I've spent ~13K shards on gloves so far and have got 3 frostburns but still no tasker and theo. Once I get tasker and theo i'll start trying for a starmetal kukri.

With my current shit gear i'm pulling 50M dps and 75M burst with BBV up. With optimal gear this build would be more than capable of pulling consistant 100M dps and having close to 50-75% uptime on BBV.

The items synergise so well and pets scale stupidly well.

I have 8-12 fetishes up hitting for ~7M (~12M in optimal gear). 3 dogs hitting for a pathetic 600K (1M in optimal gear) but with 10K LoH i'm also getting healed constantly for about 20-30K hps which is nice for face tanking stuff in T6. All these pets are great for tanking mobs and proper use of piranhado stuff will never be near you. You'll never die with proper use of spirit walk and the occasional spirit vessel proc. This build is all about staying alive as you can prioritise staying alive without a massive loss to your dps. Not channeling firebats is only a 30% dps loss so you can literally just afk and still be doing 70% of your maximum dps - very OP.

Starmetal Kukri is such a great item - if you're running wth 2 x Zuni WDs with it you've got close to 100% uptime on BBV which is a great buff.

CC from piranhado, pet tanks, 15% dmg (piranhado), 25% AS/30% dmg (BBV) - what's not to love about havign a WD in your party.
    So to recap:
You are doing really well on your WD and have 3 pieces of Zuni, after claiming they are your only decent pieces of gear. You have also rolled enough shards to get 3 Frostburns which are incredibly rare. You also state that your Crusader has 0 set items. You do realize that the Zuni set is just as rare as your Crusaders gear, you just got lucky, and have managed to quickly outgear your crusader?

It is odd how my wizard friend, who plays 1/3 as much as I do, has managed to find some amazing items (2 set pieces, 2420 damage Sever) and now does more damage than I do. Since ROS I have found exactly 1 set armor piece, blackthornes boots, so I don't think we should be declaring WD OP based on some very hard to assemble gear (yes getting 3 set pieces in 20hrs is very lucky).

Looking at the drop chances posted, StarMetal and Taker and Theo are two of the rarest items in the entire game. Players who find both should generally be fairly rare.

Tried it out myself as a WD. Def going to need some upgrades before moving to MP 4. Then again my primary attack (firebomb) was falling through the floor in act 1 and doing 0 damage... so that made some tough going. A bug report is in on this, so its not just me.

Pgl 10. No legendaries. 1 weapon with more than 900 damage found. All act 3 farming. One of my most recent finds was a monk ilvl 63 weapon...263 damage and int. woo woo. Luckily everyone else is finding the legendaries so at least I can afford to buy one here or there with the breadcrumbs the game throws me.

You are talking about running Act 3. If I can't run act 3 now, then my gear would have to get both better AND mf. Believe me, that doesn't cost less than I think.

It's easy enough to earn a million every few days in Act 1. Most of my MF items I'm currently wearing only cost about 1-2M each. The exceptions are one of the rings, the ammy, and my weapon. I was surprised at how cheap most normal MF gear was.

Slowly build up your MF while farming Act 1 and eventually you'll be able to move up to Act 2 and Act 3.

Just keep in mind that time is always a factor and that Random loot is random.

Every once in a while farming close to maxed MF I would find something worth anything in Act 1. Found MF dex shoulders with a great role, sold for 18mil. Next highest was a good ring for 3 mil. A couple of items for 1 mil, the rest below 500k, most selling in the 10k range.

Have been farming Act 3 in quasi MF since patch with no item worth over 100k found except a really good sword upgrade. Now my friend, with no MF logs in once post patch, and finds a pair of legendary pants worth 80mil.

Until MF actually has some effect on the quality of items being dropped (beyond afix/prefix slots) there are going to be those that are just unlucky and can only slowly build up any sort of cash reserve, while others will win the lottery.

The most I have ever sold an item for is 15 mil. I have found a total of 4 legendaries pre patch, and gave the only one worth anything (about 2 mil) to a friend. Probably have a total of 20 mil in gear (MF set and Progression set), with my two most expensive pieces being my helm (5 mil visage of guyia and 2 mil Manajuma blade).

Since patch I have been maintaining at 2 mil for pots and repairs, with no finds of any significance.

mf is still useful, you will plenty of legendaries before you get paragon level to negate hvaing mf gear trust me. you will most likely never reach max level paragon anyways.

hes too blind to realise this i still dont see what hes bitching about hes geting gold find ontop of it.....so untill he links his set with 300%MF and GF hes just some QQer who wants to be a special snow flake....not because he nearned his money he prolly got a lucky drop and sold it for a shit ton

Irony of calling me blind when I linked to my gear/profile in the first post is palatable.

He said "until you link your set with 300% MF." Your set is well below 300%, thus his statement is true. We get it you can switch to a terrible weapon and use your follower to get an extra 7% over the cap...big woop.

    Quote from Redhood

Normal MF is already capped lower then max paragon. You will stop gear swaping before level 100. Hell once you reach 200 mf which will be around 66 paragon, chance are most people wont bother gear swaping much for 50-70 mf.

Heres my act 3/4 farming monk profile: http://us.battle.net...6206/hero/67034

    253%MF with zero valor/buffs/templar/no swapping

282%MF with zero valor/buffs/no swapping --- But with templar

307%MF with zero valor/buffs -- and swapping one item and having a templar.

So I go over 400% with valor/buffs currently and with just swapping one weapon I already am over the MF cap of the new system.

So yea i dunno why you think the old system had the same sort of cap...

You lose 7% MF with the new system, and then only when playing solo, which in other threads you state you group. Why is this breaking the game for you?

Also Neph buff has only ever given 75% bonus. So your math is wrong somewhere. 305% + 75% = 380%.

dps is capped already by maximum affixes on items and skills, so is everything in the game....

paragon is just an addition, a goodie for ppl who play alot.... i dont know the hard cap of mf now but i am sure its around 300 so if u do like some runs per day, mf will be the way to go for a long time.. if u play hardcore u can skip mf stuff and go for hardcore dps to finish stuff faster..

Yes but the cap is LOWER then what can be gotten with gear. Againg, you will be getting passive DPS and survivability boosts with Paragon, should they start making DPS and DEF caps too? 1000k max resists???

Every stat is maxed based on gear, the MF cap they set is just below the top end possibility, normally only achieved through gear swaps. For the OP it might be a drop in 25% MF, but on the flipside no more weapon swap for consistent high DPS. I love that so many people complaining about this are well below or just barely above the cap.

The OP isn't even at the cap when playing with a group! He even states that they way he farms is with a group of barbs. So this will quickly be a buff for him.

If they capped DPS at 50k and only let you get 10k more through Paragon, people would be hitting the roof. I mean so what if you got more DPS on your gear already then the cap allows, now you can just sell it off for better Defensive stats, hooray! I mean come on it will be a few months before you hit the DPS cap, so that makes it OK right??!?!

    Ahhh said so beautifully.

Cant wait to repost this along with my argument to promote a rethink on the "hard cap" on the official forums once it lets me login again =P

What are you talking about, That might be the worst argument I have ever seen. There is already a cap based on Gear maximums. The example isn't even comparable.

I farm act 3 and 4 in MF gear, I run at 282%(zero valor/no buffs) without swapping with my templar and 253% without.

    http://us.battle.net...6206/hero/67034

With swapping only my weapon I already go over 400% with my templar and valor because I worked my arse off to get this gear that capable of farming end game content.

I sold all my high end DPS gear to put together this act 3/4 MF farming set and now your telling me that even with zero paragon level im about to lose MF?!?!?

I dont get how this stops gear swapping, i dont swap gear, i farm act 3 with 350+% MF because I worked my arse of for 500 hours in game and probably another 200 hours on the Auction house selling and trading gear.

So blizzard, damn....i actually wanna cry coz I invested so much of my time into making the perfect MF act 3/4 farming set and you go and ruin it as im already at the cap and gain nothing from your paragon system.

Solution: Remove the cap, let us go to 700% MF if we want to. Why stop your loyal/dedicated and possibly a little hardcore fans from playing the game at the 'level' that they want to?

So max, with a weapon swap, you are at 325%?

You were never ever going to get higher than that, or at least not much higher.

So now you can get to 300% with no gimpy weapon swap, you can get to 300% and start trading your uber gear for even better gear?

Don't you think that all of those bonuses will quickly offset the 25% MF you are losing? Oh and on top of that you will actually get to use any epic weapon or armor you find.

Out of all the things Blizzard has changed, the gripes on this one are the funniest.

I don't get your point? How do you know that this is a bot? Seeing how rare valuable items are going full GF gear is actually a legit tactic as it gives you a reliable income.

When I've been averaging nearly 2 hours /played per day since the game released.. and that guy has more than 50x my lifetime kills and more than 100x my lifetime elite kills.. I think there's more to it than him just being well-geared and playing aggressively.

An "alternate advancement" scheme like these Paragon levels appear to be needs to be accompanied by a swift and brutal application of the Immortal King's Banhammer.

Edit: just noticed... 100x my lifetime elite kills, and he still hasn't completed Act 2 Inferno. His DH, which has three quarters of the kills, hasn't even completed Act 1 Inferno. Yeah, that's not suspicious at all.

Wait, because you play way too much, its impossible that someone else could play even more?

Maybe its time to get some sun, and worry less?

Also, beating Inferno isn't that fun. I beat Diablo, got 4 blues, then went back to farming act 1.

One negative thing though.... that WD offhand is a COMPLETE miss. Do they really not understand the class that badly if they think that offhand is good? I hope someone else worked on the WD class changes if that's the case....

The point of that offhand is to help support a niche WD spec, just like the Barb weapon supports ranged barb spec and the Wizard weapon supports melee wizards, it's not supposed to be good for the majority of WDs.

This you miss the point of the game.

The single most important mod in the game is damage, w/o damage, you cannot do anything. You can go on with little life/resist, but w/o little damage, you just cannot advance.

A high 300 damage no mod offline is still better than a 50 dmg with killer mods offhand by a mile.

I mostly agree with you, though you can make an argument for shields. But if I am not gaining all of the extra defense of a shield, there is no way I am getting any offhand with under 280 damage unless it makes enemies explode.
