If you're spending 12+ hours a day grinding paragon levels and telling everyone to get on your level or fuck off, you might want to reconsider your life choices. There's a saying "practice makes perfect." What exactly is "perfect" in a game that prevents you from ever achieving it? You won't ever know because you're stuck in the loop.
PS. Make sure to create a thread about the differences in difficulty between 80, 85, and 90 solo once you reach that point, so you can realize just what exactly you are doing as you type out your explanation. If you prefer 4-player, then add 15. Won't change the result.

Got the highest portrait and claimed a spot on the leaderboard completely solo. Kind of surprised I managed that considering how little time I put in this season.

1. Nerf + Caps on stats that do not increase your character's power are rediculous.
2. Nerf + "Afk 10+ minutes while I wait for my MF to return to normal."
3. Nerf + "Afk 5 minutes while I wait for my MF to return to normal."
4. Nerf + "Afk 3 minutes while I wait for my MF to return to normal."
5. Nerf + Worst idea ever. No skill-swapping is already a pain in the ass.
Is there not a potential option that is neither a buff or nerf?
Edit: Just thought about this - That idea I once saw about trading a stat on a piece of gear for another (reforging, but at 100% instead of 40%) would come in handy right about now. Or even the ability to add another stat to your gear (enchanting), at an increasing cost based on how much is already on the given piece. For all it matters, both ideas could result in only giving you a random stat instead of you choosing what you want. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Spending 5 million on a single piece of gear is completely unnecessary, unless he was just that bad of a player, was very inexperienced with the ah, or is simply exaggerating.

You're going to want 35-40% crit unbuffed. I have every piece of gear that can have crit on it to reach that. (Helm, Neck, Gloves, Wrists, Both Rings, and Shield.) This allows you your Critical Mass to proc just often enough to survive with Diamond Skin.
The next thing is life on hit. I'd estimate 800-850 is the minimum. I've found wands with 800+ alone (you'll also need ap on crit with it), but the dps is horrible. And since should be able to stand there indefinitely, dps isn't your highest priority. I found a bunch of necklaces with 6%+ crit and 200-300 loh for a decent price.
Then you'll want 15 or more ap on crit. The only two pieces that can have it (while wearing a shield) are your helm and wand, so try to find a [+crit and +ap on crit] helm and a [+loh and +ap on crit] wand.
After those comes the defensive stats. Your shield is most important. There's quite a few with all res, pois or phys res, and 7%+ crit along with 18%+ block, 2k-2.8k or higher damage block. Gearing wise, along with what can have crit, you'll want pieces with all res and pois or phys res. Int and Vit are extras, but reducing damage is a higher priority.
Damage stats, such as Int and Crit dmg are nice extras, but if they're too expensive, just go with a cheaper alternative. The more damage you do have though, the more you health you generate through Enchant Weapon: Blood Magic.
And your Helm of Command may seem nice, but I don't think it can have both crit and +ap on crit, so you'll need to get something else for this build to work.

I had that happen once, but I didn't take advantage of that moment.

Even tried my method? If you can scrape the gear together (prices have supposedly gone up recently), you, too, can facetank him in a corner without any effort.

Considering if I mash 2 abilities repeatedly, only 1 will get used. Along with the fact that I don't even have 20 fps and somewhere around 200 latency, I'm lucky if an ability will cast exactly when I want it to.
I doubt Hydra contributes to the life gain of EW. And if you looked at the fact that I'm using Blood Magic, Familiar and Timewarp are used to increase the returns from it. You're welcome to go look at the video I made on Ghom and criticize the build I used there, too.
Researching builds is about as boring as buying gear off of the rmah. I find what works for the gear I have and can afford and go with it. Sure, I see builds others use and try them, but they aren't always tailored to my specific needs.
By the way, if I can soak the damage from all of those spiders without a problem, I think I can consider myself a tank.

I'd be eaten alive without Diamond Skin up, lol.
There are variations. This is just one out of many.
