I did it all, Azmodan, Goblin Farming, Siegebreaker, Istaku, Diablo. I've tried it all with switching to Magic Find gear. I guarantee you it will make a difference, but in the end it's all based off of luck. If an item has a 0.01% chance of dropping, increasing that by the amount of Magic Find can always help. I do Goblin Farming with Magic Find gear on from the beginning of the fight. Boss fights I switch at the last second, it has yielded results of many items but of course none of them were worth selling 99% of the time.
How you guys Do The meteor thing so early? I tried with wizard lvl 5 and the meteor seems to drop later than in the video posted..
You're rushing it. When you click 'resume game' make sure you wait for the NPC to say "Demons", that's when you start running to the mortar spot. Use your freeze ability to lock everyone in place and run away when the NPC yells "Lookout!". I've been able to do this from level 20-46 with no problems at all.

1. Do I have more than 2 stacks of Nephalem Valor? If not then I will teleport to town and switch my build to Shadow Power with the rune Blood Moon.
2. If I have more than 2 stacks of NV I give it a shot.
3. Usually this results in them enraging or me committing suicide due to reflects damage, this is where I escape and bail on them.
