posted a message on 311k HP?
So I was looking at Diabloprogression.com and noticed there is a link for HP. I figured I would click it and see some WD's with like 90k hp and high DPS but I came across a something disturbing. Tons of players over 200k HP and a Barb with 311K HP. They almost all have DPS under 25k so I have to know, why would anyone in their right mind try and play like this? It would take forever to kill anything, granted you wouldn't die but still. Oh, did I mention this is NOT Hardcore?

Here is the link I was talking about.

    http://www.diablopro...ating.stat_life

Also while looking I found the most well rounder character I have ever seen.

Uhm....angels are supposed to be made of pure energy, not flesh and blood. If he is still and angel (albeit mortal), and not human, how come he has a human body?

I'd like to refer to Dogma to answer this one. If you haven't seen it, go watch it now. Great movie!!!

So yeah, we see Tyrael willingly give up his place in Angiris council, and he falls down to Sanctuary becoming... human.

He never became human, he became mortal.
Mortal means he can die, nothing more. He is still an angel and, according to the closing cinematic, he remains mortal while he's back in heaven and he now stands as wisdom (instead of justice).

    And This^

posted a message on Blizzard ignores warnings, Bans my account, Best barb ammy in USA now duped?
The only way Blizzard will be able to stop it is if we the players help. They would have to remove the RMAH entirely and the players would need to not buy gold from online retailers. If these people couldn't make money doing it, there would be no point to them doing it and the problem would go away.

    It has to have a profit for there to be a point. Therefor;
if Profit = Point then No Profit = No Point.

    Stop the Duping: Occupy Sanctuary!!!

I'm glad to hear about all of the positive reasons for playing D3. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who enjoys it for what it is and not hate it for what it isn't.

I just posted this on the official forums but not everyone here reads them so I figured I would post it here too.

If you do read the official forums, here is a link to the original post. Please answer there.

Why do you play. Let's keep this a positive thread and not belittle anyone for their reasons.

I play the game to have fun and unwind at the end of the day.

Since I don't allow quick join, I can play alone and "pause" the game when I need to stop to help my Wife with something or my 7 month old son wakes up, needs to be fed, or needs to be changed. This game is great for parents to play when they get a free moment.

I also get to play with some of the friends that I have made playing other games and keep in touch with them.

I've enjoyed the Diablo franchise since the original and actually played through 1 and 2 again just before 3 came out so I could get a story refresh. It's a great story line and it is still very enjoyable to play.

I enjoy it for what it is, a game.

@Gnarf: Thanks for the post. I have read a lot of your posts on this forum and find them all to be well thought out and extremely helpful. I agree with you on the Dex with a Barb but I found this one so I kept it for now until I can either sell it or save up for a replacement.

@dao: What would you have me swap out for rend in a WW build.......

Not sure I'd swap out my chest as of right now. I'm using it for the movement speed since my Ice Climbers don't have it. I do agree with the pants though. Been looking for a decent upgrade.

As for the Echoing Fury, I came to that same conclusion with my Echoing Fury. It has a good amount of Dex on it so I might just give it to my Monk since it will give her far more DPS than the one she is using right now. If not, I can always try and sell it to pick up a replacement weapon.

Inna's pants would be a nice upgrade for the Movement Speed allowing me to swap out my Tyrael's might and not have to lose the 12%. I could also use some nice Lacuni's with Crit chance on them. There are plenty of combinations of upgrades for me but unless I start getting lucky and finding them or some nice items that are worth a decent amount, I fear it will be quite a while before I get that sorted out.

I did switch my Cleave rune to do more dmg and havent run into an issue with goblins in MP5 anymore. I also tried swapping out my Wrath rune for Insanity, It allows me to kill things faster in quick fights but I'll be switching it back to Thrive on Chaos since 15 seconds just isn't long enough for large packs in act 3 since my kill speed has actually gone down.

I'd increase your all resist if you can and drop Tough as Nails for Ruthless to increase DPS. The faster you kill things the less they can hit you.

If you are comfortable in MP1 for now, go to act 3 and farm exp there. I like to start with Kill Azmodan quest and run backwards from the last WP. Once I get through to Fields, I go back to town and run the path to Ghom and then Stonefort for Key warden. I kill Az last and start over. Tons of Exp.

Farm paragon levels. The gold and drops will happen while you are doing this anyway.

More Resistances will allow you to increase DPS by changing passives and comfortably move into higer MP levels. Oh, and raise your Crit chance and Crit dmg if you can.

Don't reroll monk. I started with a Monk and moved to a Barb for some change.

If you want to farm together feel free to add me as a friend. My battletag is listed to the left.
I don't mind sharing my drops if they can help you and aren't worth bazillions :)

Thanks for the reply. I totally forgot about the tornadoes taking dmg from mainhand only. My old offhand was actually much worse so maybe that's the key now that I have the new weapon.

You mentioned bash in your reply. Should I switch cleave out for bash? I have been using cleave to gain fury more quickly if needed. One or two swings with cleave can fill my fury if I get a few crits depending on the size of the pack.

posted a message on 80k unbuffed dps respectable for WW barb?
So I've been playing my Barbarian as I have recently become bored with my Monk. I feel like I have some decent gear but don't have too much left to upgrade much. I know my Gems need to be maxed out but like I said, I don't have much left to upgrade after some purchases.

I got lucky and found my Echoing Fury last night giving me a 7k dps bump over my old weapon and am now sitting at 80k unbuffed DPS.

I don't really have much trouble with surviving or killing most monsters in MP4-5 alone accept when I come across a goblin. There are times when they will get away from me with just under 1m health left and it's quite frustrating.

Is my DPS at a respectable level or is it still too low and that is why I am running into this?

Here is a link to my Barbarian.

    Thanks in advance.
