Bad medicine is kinda pointless in solo play with pets, as it applies before the damage cap. I say keep the Hounds, but swap to either Burning or Plague (plague will be better single-target, they deal literally twice as much damage as non-rune or Leeching).
Guess it's about time for me to pull in my thoughts here...
Glass Cannon DH: Probably go for either Glass Cannon or Serenity (Ascension)
Bat/Hound WD: Venom Hydra. Dear LORD Venom Hydra!
Frenzy Barb: Seven Sided Strike (Sudden Strike) or One with Everything, not sure.
Disintegrate Wizard: Tough choice here... probably One With Everything. Seems to be my default
Hybrid Monk: Definitely going for Venom Hydra again.
The big thing with gems is that they are "in addition to" your normal roll. What I mean is that your chest (for example) can absolutely jackpot a stat roll... but if you have sockets you can go beyond the theoretical "best roll possible". The other part of this is that you can always resocket gems if need be. I know I've swapped out to Amethysts a time or two in the past, which you can't just do on non-socketed gear.
So, been a while since I posted one of these, and today's is a good one. The question at hand is, if you could steal ONE skill from a different class, which would you take?
1) You may take an active or a passive skill, but if you take an active skill, you get only one rune with it.
2) Costs are changed to use your system, at an appropriate amount (a Wizard stealing Cluster Shot-Loaded for Bear is going to be spending 35+ AP per cast)
3) Other than the cost, all other text and weapon requirements stay the same as their 1.0.4 version (that same Wizard had better be packing a bow or crossbow if he wants to use that skill).
When you post, please mention not only what class you are, but also roughly what build you use (just mentioning that you're a glass cannon, a tank, or other such will be enough)
I second the location motion. Got stuck against a Freezing pack during the Catapults mission in A3, never could see the frost bombs until they were going off.
There is no specific affix combo that is difficult at all unless it's on the right (or the WRONG, in this case) kind of enemy. Worst I ever had was a Champ/Minion pack of the Fallen Champions (the big, tough guys in A3), Horde-Reflect Damage-Mortar-Extra Health. I was on a WD. Other notables include a couple times today when I caught a Smouldering Construct Champion with Horde on a melee character. The other affixes just cease to matter at this point. Then again, later on I caught a Fast-Desecrator-Arcane-Extra Health pack of Fallen Shamans RIGHT after I finished nuking out a gigantic pack of lesser Fallen. Didn't even realize they were there until I was getting swarmed under.
What's funny is that I normally LOVE seeing Horde packs on my WD, since he's a Bats and Dogs build. Just means more XP and loot to me most of the time
Main advantage of Rain of Corpses is that each of the corpses has a high chance to proc and also they ignore things like Waller and LOS, plus they hit a small area as opposed to a single target when they land. Not exactly sure what each corpse lands for, though.
I was debating swapping out my Grasp, but I really wonder what to swap TO. I need to find something that fits a different niche than DB, so maybe Poison Dart (debating between Splinters or Spined) or perhaps Pile On.
The Leeching Beasts rune is going to swap out to Burning Beasts or Plague Hounds as soon as my health pool breaks 30k (or, more specifically, once they have 500 regen and can take 5 hits). The regen is not for me, it's for the dogs themselves to be able to stand up to punishment.
Hex is going to swap at the same time my Hounds do. First will be to Jinx, and if I'm still holding up cleanly then I'll try either Garg (Bruiser) or BBV (Rain or Slam, not sure which).
Blood Ritual stays for now, that 15% cost cut is saving me TONS of mana and the regen is nice to have even on its own. I still die too much to be able to let go of Spirit Vessel (and let's be honest, I use two of the skills it reduces the cooldown of anyway), but perhaps a little time without Loyalty might be a nice experiment. What to replace it with is the million-gold question, though, since the only decent options either require me to regear (Gruesome Feast, Circle of Life, Grave Injustice), are defensive in nature (Zombie Handler, Jungle Fortitude), or will only pop up as useful situationally (Spiritual Attunement would only be really useful during boss fights, since I don't get to stand-and-shoot all THAT often)
Ended up swapping Hex to Garg and 1-shot him. Belial kicked my tail a couple of times, so I'm going to go farming until Lefey gears up.
Anyway, for the future, I have about 1.2 million banked. I've basically had zero luck with good sellable drops, and what mediocre ones I get tend to go to my alts (or sell for five to ten thousand). In fact, looking at my profile, the only pieces there that actually dropped for me were the chest, amulet, and necklace.
*sigh* I keep on running into the enrage timer on Zultan Kulle, usually at about 25% to go. Didn't think I'd ever have to do this, but can anyone suggest an upgrade and/or skill swap to help?
I'd originally looked to replacing the Ceremonial Knife, but mana seems to be a recurring issue for times where I can actually stop moving away from threats and burn him. Since that blade has both a good amount of max mana and also decent regen, it seems ill-advised. Currently running with the Templar, the health regen has been a real lifesaver.
Might just be me, but while under a certain gear point you really do need Honored Guest (or else some other way to hard-regen mana). I have about a 1k mana pool, 60 standing regen, -9 mana cost on helmet, and Blood Ritual... but I still find myself burning through it with Dire Bats. I know I need to swap to a slower 2H, but can't find a decent one (read: one that will outperform my 912 DPS ceremonial knife and Mojo) just yet for less than a million.
I'm in A2 with pretty poor gear (23k DPS, 400 lowest resist, and about 50% armor), and only certain mobs even have a chance of taking out my beasts. Basically, they have to have one of the rapid-tick ground effects to do it. Heck, in some cases I've stopped fighting and let the Dogs finish off the target to raise some mana.
I use Fierce Loyalty and Blood Ritual with Leeching Beasts, they regen about 500 per second in my gear (not counting LOH or orbs, which rock).
Desecrator, Molten, Dervish whirlwind and other such are not broken. The problem is that those tick VERY frequently for relatively small amounts per tick, which means that the "damage cap" the summons have really doesn't help them.
I did notice that certain mobs are demolishing my pets in 1-2 shots, though, my example is the unique Sand Golem that pops up when you pull ZK's head.

I'll try the Gargantuan, but I definitely need the Mana from Honored Guest too much at the moment to be able to drop it.
