posted a message on Nerfing gear swapping will have unintended consequences on Act 2/3/4 farming
considering act3 has 3x the chance at ilvl 63 drops then act1, 200% mf is better then 300% for act1.....

posted a message on The Problem With Spam
Blocking links won't work.... i said this in another thread stating how "simple" it would be....

    www.fakesite.com would turn into
    www . fakesite .com
    vv vv vv . Fakesite . c0m
    fakesite. c0m
    fakesite. <om

etc etc, they will just butcher the link each time to bypass the filter.

If you think you can come up with a fool-proof way to stop spammers, i would LOVE to see you code it, and implement it in a little text-imput app where people can "attempt" to type in a website link or bypass your filters =)

    TL:DR
There is no easy way to stop spammers, they will always find someway to bypass the filter.

So much hate, why so rude? I'm at work atm, the stream will be live ( not replay ) at 15:00 London time, and please don't abuse this thread.
Why so rude, well first why don't you give a clear reason as to why you felt the need to include "girl" in the title of this thread.

OH and i think i should mention, this person is the same one who made a Blizzard thread stating "Hot chick streaming" So clearly you're trying to use your looks to get people to give you things... why else would you want people to think you're hot or a girl....

This is an example of a girl gamer, uses the title of girl to attract people and to get things easier.

Much rather watch a gamer who happens to be a girl then one who gloats about their sex to gain an advantage... Regardless of your situation, it's disgusting that you stoop to such a degree to gain something.

I think its mostly the new generation of gamers that hate this game and QQ all the time. I played Everquest for 10 years starting at launch so I dont care if I grind for 6-7 hours a day just give me a few beers and I can go forever it doesnt bother me to grind. I will run Butcher and Kulle runs all day long and it doesnt bother me at all and I never get bored becuase I know what that feeling is like when that awesome item finally does drop. Hell got a 1k DPS one handed crossbow the other day off a treasure goblin in Act I and havent felt that giddy since I played Everquest and Raster finally spawned.

But in the WoW generation AKA carebear-cupcake-mickeymouse-Iwantmylootnow era people expect to log in and in 30 mins farm up perfect roll items. Or as soon as they get into Inferno expect to faceroll through it with no effort. They refuse to put in the effort and instead flood the forums with posts about how much the game sucks and why do they have to farm for weeks just to get to Act 2. Listen kiddies I remember farming and raiding old content in Everquest, while also proving myself to higher end guilds that I was a good player willing to put in the time and effort for raids for a year before my Monk finally got into Tacvi or Anguish so dont cry that you cant progress after 3 days. The mindset of gamers today absolutely disgusts me. They have some false sense of entitlement that just because they log in they should be showered with the best loot and invited into every raid and I have no idea where they got it from.
but... i have the best loot in wow... and i do get invited to every raid.. but that's maybe because i actually put in tons of effort (realm firsts, best geared mage on server, few rank 1s)

And i agree, i can farm D3 for hours, and have fun trying to get better, still not even in act 3 yet, taking my time and going at it in my own pace and yesterday i sold an item on RMAH for $100.

For clarification, a few times per day was overstated, it only happend the last 3 days that he found this many. So I corrected it to "at least once per day", which happens since 2 days after 1.0.3 hit servers. I did not know him before that, so I have no idea how lucky he was before.

If i have free time, my barb is clearing act 1 with 325% MF, could maybe take down some numbers for you, unless you're using goblins specifically for this.

If you could tell me how many legendaries you found in how many hours played, you would help be a great deal with this thesis already.
9 in total so far and 1 set piece, 304 hours.

MF doesn't change the lvl or ilvl of the gear that drops, only the quality, ie, white > magic > rare > legendary,

posted a message on Power for money ? Is that ok with the D3 Community?

    Quote from Alucard_Tnuoc

    Oh noes... money for power!!!

Plenty of games do such a thing, it's not taboo. Just because a lot of games DON'T do it doesn't mean it's a rule that all games must abide by.

If they didn't let you buy things with real currency, sure as hell gold sellers would have a much larger market, buy gold, use gold to buy items more round about way to use money for power.
I can't think of a single game that isnt korean that blatantly sells power for money.
Oh, and its taboo to me, why play a game thats about getting gear, and spend more money on the game to make it end faster, then punish the people who got you that gear by facerolling them in pvp ?
Alright, they remove RMAH, so insted, you buy gold from 3rd parties or pay them for the item.... or buy a whole account with the entire item set and 30 of every gem.

In EVERY game you play, there is a method to attain power for money. Just because in this one it's being directly controlled by blizzard you decide to shit on them and say it will ruin the game.

Just like everything else, just because YOU think it's taboo =/= so.

I could say you're retarded, Doesn't make it true (not saying you are, just using it as an example, i don't mean to derail topic)

Edit ~ An example where skill > gear. WoW, you can deck someone out in full BiS gear, and they will still be utter trash. In D3 it will be to the same extent, shitters will be shitters. They will use bad skill combination and runes, use health pot at wrong time, not know how to avoid abilities.

In Blizzard's ToS, they state that any use of third party software is not allowed.

Windows is a third party program.

Windows is an operating system. Good try.

Oh right, programmers develop programs. Operating systmers develop operating systems.

Are you going to tell me every running process listed in your task manager isn't a program too?

    Now you're just being pedantic.
    He has the point though.

Most people confuse the software that emulates human input using macros with bots and hacks, which mess with the D3 client's memory directly. First ones are okay to use.

Think of this way: if you have a cool mouse with the key-configuring software with it, you can assign your N-th mouse button to act as the LMB click and then in D3 you can move and attack pressing the N-th button instead of the LMB. That's a basic macro. I'm 100% sure you won't get banned for this.
By that definition, if i create a serious of macros to automate my character to start a game, open a chest, loot gold, leave game and repeat, it's legit cause it's a macro that i press a button to do... so if i press it once it's legitimate.

Also their is a difference between "rebinding" a key to do ONE action, then it is to have one button do MULTIPLE actions.

Just because it doesn't inject into the game does NOT make it okay.

You're unlikly to get banned for it, but it IS against the TOS
