"Abandonware" means you can pirate it? That's news to me.

Not unless you can show us an official blizzard statement which says that you are allowed to.

Ok then, you can be the one to buy it if you want.

Never got to play it, D2 was already out by the time I got into pc gaming and D2 itself was such an incredible game that I never thought about playing the first one, even though the lore was the main thing that captivated me. 2 days ago I randomly found out about the hd mod and thought wth, let's give it a whirl, how bad can it be. I was expecting a less than stellar experience, bad/outdated mechanics and a bland gameplay honestly. I though I'd soldier on and get it start to finish just for the lore (I already knew all of it, just wanted to experience it myself).

I was sold within the first 10 minutes. This game is pure. fucking. awesomness. The feeling is vastly superior to D2, no wonder they reused part of the soundtrack, it's absolute genius. Usually I can't play a game for more than 2 hours straight, unless we're talking Civ V. I played for like 10 hours straight. Did not get bored for one second. Did not look up any tactics, builds. Nothing. And it felt awesome. The HD mod does fix a series of bad mechanics from what I've seen and you'll never realize that it's not an official patch. Seriously, anyone who wasn't tried D1 before should do so asap. It's abandonware afaik, so no worries about pirating it.

...going to be amazing. I, for one, applaud their decision to replace Jay "And-then-we-doubled-it" Wilson with this Mosqueira guy. He really seems to know his shit, like for example reverting diablo from the abominable slot-machine condition it was in, to a seemingly fun experience - at least from what I can tell.

I was what people would call a hater before, because the game was (and still is, at least for now)...well, shit. But I'm positive it'll be WAY better than it was until now. So, I don't know, I guess good job Blizz?

You guys are kind of missing that the main patch change will be monster densities, which while testing probably is needed, probably isn't game breaking and could be done in the live environment, albeit with a load of complaints from people about paying to beta test the game.

Now now, don't remind people there are other changes involved. This whole patch is only about ID all. And also there could never possibly be any other changes made except ID all, AH tooltip comparison and density. No.

I was expecting more from you, overneathe. This isn't some catchphrase. I really was. You're better than this.

    1) get incredibly luck y finding a really nice item.
    2) dual wield Mastercard
    3) flip items in the AH.

    Those are the options.

Or just play as the 99.99% of the rest of the players play, after you ID your rare #589 in a row that is 100% trash and your only legendaries that drop are not the right ones, quit.

You are just constantly angry at this game in every thread I see. I'm curious, do you stay just to whine about it?

Mad hater or not, he pretty much hit the spot.

posted a message on What do you think is the reason of the extremely long cooldown when you change a skill?
    Quote from rebjorn

The CD is there for a reason. Be glad it's not like D2 was for years (not that it was all bad!), you started a char, leveled it up, the skills and stats were locked, you couldn't change them - at all. You'd spend a lot of time leveling to say.. 95 and then you figure out you'd like your character to have some different skillset. What do you do? - You start a new character of course : -) those were the days.

I don't think anybody that leveled to 95 during those times was completely oblivious to the fact that you CANNOT change your skills at any point. I realized it in my 40s. Wasn't such a big deal.

You do know MP is now allowed in public games, right? Thus rendering you and your comment useless.

What a douche bag thing to say, disagree, sure, but don´t be such an ass about it

Indeed, I was sort of a douchebag. Apologies.

TLDR: If some people are so bored with the same old builds, especially with so many people streaming on twitch and YouTube, why is it not more common to see people with funky variations, doing strange and unorthodox builds to show what these classes are really made of? Why are the same default builds seen sooooooooooooooo often?

    Hey, now...

I'm actually in the process of building a "block" wizard (Helm of Command, massive shield, Justice Lantern, legacy Justice Lantern, Doombringer) with virtually no DPS and I'm going to try and tackle the highest MP possible and attempt to farm without dying.

    No sarcasm here, OP.

You can do this once you hit paragon 100. There really isn't much else to do, actually.

Sorry, I actually read the TLDR part only.
While I was still really into the game, I tried stuff like this myself, hence the snarky reply. I went with Azurewrath and Sledge Fist builds for my monk when doing ubers and farming. Until I realized ubers were pointless and unfortunately so was my monk.

I'm just saying, trying that block wizard will result in nothing but disappointment. You will probably be able to farm any MP, but at a rate that will render the build useless (throw in obscene amounts of dying and you're set). Pretty much everything has been tried and tested by much more "devious" minds than ours. The game's itemization and skill set is so poor that it offers little to no variables when looking for interesting/creative ways to farm. It's all about efficiency. Simple as that. I would even go as far as saying that right now, if you're not a barb, you're doing it wrong.

Sure, you can go and try stunlock builds, high dodge/block builds and...well I can't think of anything else. But WHAT is the point? Isn't act III what everybody does all day? Isn't a bigger chance to get a good item that will sell on the AH the point? You'll say "having fun, that's all it matters". Well then, sorry but I got into the game for the same reason as you, and we all know the "right" way to play it, whether you admit or not.

Couldn't be bothered with researching since I don't give a shit about stuff like that, but I really really wanna throw the fact that it's not real in her face.
