Im by no means an expert in the field, but i played D2 for many many years, and have been playing D3 since launch; With that said, i think droprates are getting to a fun level now.
The only thing i've really wanted out of D3's drops was for them to give that feeling in D2. It's hard to describe but it's the feeling that you keep almost getting a really good drop, and you know it's out there, but maybe if one or two rares in your inventory had slightly different mods they'd be really good, that's what i've wanted out of D3.
I think it's pretty close to that now. I'll get weapons with high life on hit, and high dex (im a monk) but low damage; But if that item rolled one of those +500 arcane damage mods, it would be an absolutely awesome item. Drops are exciting for me now. I may not get something super great every night i play, but i get pretty close, and occasionally get something pretty good. So i'm happy. I just like feeling like im right at the precipice of getting something awesome, and IMO (at least from my experience in act 2 inferno) it feels like that right now.
I dont really see a need to measure drops comparing D2 to D3, just get out and play, and in my humble opinion, they're at a pretty good spot right now. Especially compared to how they were at launch.
Yea, i left the game, dont know for how long exactly.
My personal problem is, that i kidna miss the old trading ways, and personally i dislike the AH. I think with with the RMAH it will be even worse. all in all, i miss the old trading system.
Im not bashing the game, i played tons when it came out, but i've been on a brake with diablo 3 for the past 1,5 weeks
Same here on every account. Im away till 1.03, really hoping it fixes my issues. I'm currently stuck in act 2, and fucking sick of having to go to the AH for everything, and having item drops be basically meaningless. Hoping 1.03 makes loot a bit more interesting.
i feel the same way but im stuck at act 2 with my wd for almost 2 weeks, lvled a monk but i dont have the money to gear it. i used to play a lot but now i log like 3 hours a day
Same here, only i just play a half an hour or so just cause im so over act 1 inferno, and can't do shit in act 2.
Yeah i was 10 years old and was playing Mortal Kombat and i'm not a complete psychopath. That's pretty cool OP, good choice in class for her too, and to get all the way to 50 for someone her age is pretty sweet. Although, if i remember right, when i was 9 i could game it up with the best of em.
But yeah ignore all the haters, it's your kid, and it's really easy for someone to sit back and tell you how to parent. She'll be fine, lol.
GUSY!! GUYS!! IM NOT BOASTING, SINCE I SAY IT IT MEANS IM NOT SO DONT ASK.
Im just seeing how many of you lesser people have attained such an achievement in life as i have achieved. So... anyone at all, have you beaten Diablo 3 in under 4 minutes 32 seconds? Didn't think so. You really have to be in a class of your own to do it.
Please take a moment to bask in my glory....

There... ahh, feels good right. Im not offering any autographs, but you may ask me any questions you want, and i will angrily answer anyone who challenges my life's crowning achievement. And no one better upset me or i'm going to call them really really lame, and try to belittle them, but really, how could you belittle someone who GOT 1-60 IN 4 MINUTES 32 SECONDS??.
Did i mention i made it to 60 in 4 minutes 32 seconds?
Now look down at yourself, now back at me, then back at yourself, now your diablo 3 characters, now back at me. You arent me, but you could get a taste of that by just viewing this thread, or asking me some questions, i think i have the time to answer some today in my busy schedule.
Anyone who questions the legitimacy of this post, like why my monk has so much time put in his bar graph, and why i only have 1 monster killed, and 0 elites, just ignore that, you just need to not think so hard. Did i mention i made it to 60 in 4 minutes 32 seconds?
So there you have it folks. Just thought i'd stop by to check if anyone knows of someone who'se gotten 60 in less time than 4 MINUTES 32 SECONDS. Again, I'm Not Boasting, just genuinely curious. Autographs 19.95, send check payable to Mike Ocksmall,
We’re removing the bonus monster damage per additional player in a coop game. Our design goal is for players who prefer to play solo to be able to play solo, and players who prefer to play in groups to be able to play in a group. We feel the bonus monster damage per additional player is one of the biggest inhibitors to wanting to play with your friends. In a perfect world, single player and co-op would be absolutely equal, but that’s not attainable when you consider item properties such as “Life on Kill” or skills such as Archon which simply scale better when you are solo. Since the variety and breadth of game mechanics essentially dictate that solo vs. group play will never be 100% equal, our goal is to make them as close as possible but err on the side of coop in cases where we need to make adjustments. The inherent logistical requirements when forming up with other players and attempting to work together effectively warrants some added benefits.
so, someone explain this more - will the monsters in group games be the same as the ones in solo games? Is it a small reduction in damage, or will the damage be exactly the same in solo, but the health will be more - needs some elaboration
BTW i think this is a bad idea.
How someone can think this is a bad idea is beyond me. Maybe you have a great 4 man group that works together great, or maybe you bought a ton of gear in the AH and because you meet the gear requirement, you're skilled, but the way damage scales in group for most melee classes in inferno is fucking bullshit and punishes most people for grouping ATM.
I seem to have an unusual problem, i'm level 60, at inferno and am still enjoying the game despite how horrible it is. This seems to be a major problem i can't seem to shake, no matter how hard i try to dislike it, i just can't.
Anyone else having this same issue? What can i do to alleviate it? I've tried spending more time at the offical forums, I've read the numerous "game breaking" issues people claim it has, but then i log in and actually play the game and i still enjoy the hell out of it. What am i doing wrong? Can anyone offer some advice?
Thanks for the advice guys! Yeah, i dont think im gonna give in and start buying armor/weapons, i think i'll stick it out and maybe try a few new builds and see if i can make something work.
The good thing is that my monk and barb are both just about the same level so if i find anything that one can't use, the other almost certainly can use it. But yeah, maybe i just need to find a good farm spot and make a good build for it and see how that goes.
I know everyone complains about inferno, well i'm stuck in hell difficulty. I'm playing both Barb and Monk, alternating, and they're both running into issues.
After spending roughly 20 hours in act 1 hell difficulty i'm wondering if it's even possible to progress without AH items. I've been farming act 1 for days and have gotten 0 upgrades, and frequently run into champion packs that require about 20 deaths before i can take them down due to the hp/dmg combinations.
I've been soloing a bit and grouping, and it just seems like Hell difficulty is oddly tuned. Non rare/champion, standard enemies have so many HP in 4 player games it's borderline ridiculous, and no upgrade i get fixes this for me as a player.
I wish i didn't have to use the AH for items cause IMO it kind of defeats the purpose of even playing the game, but i feel like i'm being forced into doing it. I understand it needs to be hard, but this is like being given a plastic fork and being asked to dig a swimming pool out.
Anyone else running into similar issues? anyone else swearing against the AH and running into problems?
Every game released in the internet era has had a non-stop parade of whining. The whiners always like to justify their whining, but it's still just whining. It can be fun to give them rationality and see how they twist it. You can be helpful to the community by providing quality content on the forums. BUT, you'll never see the end of whining on the internet. You just gotta learn to see them for what they are: spoiled people throwing temper tantrums.

The world and in this case, games, are what you make of them.
We all knew inferno would be hard, now comes the grind.
Man, you got ripped off. Those greedy corporate types really pulled on on you. If I were you I'd contact customer support instead of whining to random strangers on a fansite......ya know, like grown-ups do?
You say it now, you'll realize soon enough as well how much it sucks. Just give it time.
Son, i was there the first week of Diablo 2 launch, i was even in D2 beta. People were saying the same exact things the first week of Diablo 2 that they're saying now. This is no different. I for one am enjoying the shit out of this game.

Out of character: Mocking absolutely is the sincerest form of flattery. And yes i was actually this bored.
PS: (This is a joke. Here's the original thread this is mocking: http://www.diablofans.com/topic/47942-world-record-1-60-in-42-minutes-played/)
