    Combat

It just feels a little slow and clunky. I watched one of Force's videos and he mentioned that closed beta players said that combat improves as you level - through attack speed, etc. Force then stated that it just felt off overall. I agree. It seems like certain mobs do not become "active" to target as quickly as they should - they are on the screen, but you get a feeling of "missing" them when you click. The spells themselves (played a witch) also missed on a regular basis, which seemed to be a hit chance thing, rather than me miss-clicking. I feel like the combat in D3 just has more style and responds faster. Mobs move quicker and have more in their arsenal than what I encountered in PoE.

I have been in PoE beta since Diablo 3 beta and I must say your thoughts are spot on with mine about the combat. Ive had a couple characters up around 50s and 60s and the combat still feels very stiff and meh. Mabye I was playing it wrong (there shouldnt be a wrong way to play a game but whatever) and should have focused on attack speed more.

The loot system is a double sided sword in my opinion. For those that have some luck and time, they can get some amazing gear rolled just the way they like it. For people that have no luck, myself included the loot system constantly kicks me in the groin then mocks me.

To be fair, since it went into open beta, Im going to give it one or two more chance to be a game that I would play before I write it off as a decent game that just does not do it for me.

posted a message on Wizard teleport: limited functionality as designed or bug?
    Quote from FROMtheASHES984

I don't mind not being able to teleport nonstop. What I don't like is that teleport, like other class' "movement" spells, should break you out of CC. However, when I teleport away from being jailed, I end up jailed further away. Whereas my WD and DH friends keep on running. I guess the teleport runes add more functionality than those for the other classes, so this is really a minor complaint.

The analogous move for DH is vault, which like teleport, cannot break the jailed effect though it can cause the effect to fail to land if timed correctly. In fact vault cannot even be used when jailed. Smokescreen isn't a "movement" ability, at least from the way blizzard designs them, it is a damage reduction ability, in this case 100% for 1 sec. So from a cross class skill perspective. The movement ability for the Demon Hunter and Wizard are close in function, wizards could use a short cooldown to match better, but that is another topic.
Now the witch's doctors movement ability also has a damage reduction ability attached to it with a crowd control break plus some very nice runes so the complaint there is very valid.

The cursed hold is a perfect example for this. There are these walls with bars in them, you can watch through the walls and see monsters etc. but only teleport in there, if the door is already broken.

Hmm, guess they changed that from the beta. In the beta you could leap through barred walled if you clicked far enough away from the bars.

posted a message on NV Feedback given during beta.... u joking?
The feedback was on skill swapping, NV was put in place to give incentive to not switch skills by giving a bonus to gold and magic find. That is what the blue post was getting at I believe.

I have had no problem using vault to avoid attacks so far, esp. on the diablo fight to the point where as long as I have the discipline to use it, I wont be hit by the teleport attacks that he uses. I don't doubt that smoke screen is easier and more reliable for all cases than vault, but vault is still usable.

As a side note, you can avoid the jailer debuff using vault if jailer is cast mid vault always humorous to see when that happens.

OOH shiny numbers on drop rates.

Seems like a well put together set of changes/fix/balances. Though the thing about monster damage in a group has me pondering this question: Was the damage in a group of 4 in Inferno that harsh? Haven't been to inferno yet so i don't know anything about that point.

The probabilities are as followed, I calculated em with a function (the binompdf function, tho i forgot how to do it without the function :P)
Probability of 0 dogs resurrecting: 17.85%
    Probability of 1 dog resurrecting : 38.45%
Probability of 2 dogs resurrecting: 31.05%
Probability of 3 dogs resurrecting: 11.45%
Probability of 4 dogs resurrecting: 1.50%
Summing up to a total of 100.3% (cos of rounding up/down, but its accurate)

Percent chance of occuring = (binomial coeffecient) * Pk Q(n-k)
where P is the percent chance of the event occuring, in this case 35% or 0.35, Q is the chance of the event not occuring, .65 in this case, N is the maximum number of occurences in a case, 4 here, and k is the number of events desired, 0,1,2,3, or 4 for this case. The coeffecient is N combinations taken K at a time

fun to do by hand from time to time
