posted a message on Recommended stats for Act 2 Inferno
So yeh, i'm playing a wizard and farming the end of act 1.. It's just stupidly easy I barely lose hp but then I enter act 2 and get 1 shot. I've got 31k hp, 20k dmg which is clearly not enough so I was wondering what people would recommend for gettin through this act, or is that enough and I just need to l2p? :P

Got fed up of playing a tank and kiting as a melee is stupid so i rerolled WD level 55 atm.

This, I just rerolled a wizard and the difference between this and my melee is a joke. At NM act 2 and yet to die '-.- lol

I love when u see developers look so enthusiastic about their product... Why can't it just be the 15th? XD

Perhaps it starts where we will get 1 shotted. Blizz look at the numbers, see passed the QQ on the forums to the facts and realise they need to tone it down. They go too far and it gets hotfixed.
They tweak and balance and play and amend and they end up with a game where it's perfectly tuned.

I'd rather it starts too hard and gets made progressively easier (not easy, just less insane) to the right pitch of difficulty than start too easy where people are able to annihilate and reap the benefits before the game is tuned upwards.

Yeh i'd always prefer it be to hard than to easy, i'm just curious as to how they will be able to make a game in which the best players in the world will find it difficult to do alone without using some form of gimmicky stuff. The most common method used to make games insanely "difficult" is where a mob will take a very long time to kill, say 15min and during that time repeats an abilities in which if i do not dodge it within that 10th of a second gap u die (such as ninja gaiden 1) which to me just isn't fun.

But can anyone think of a way to make a game hard enough for the best players without a gimmick like this? As I and every other company that's tried can't... Just hope that Blizzard does what has so far been the impossible :P. Infact that's interesting we should maybe make a new topic in which everyone can give there methods of making a game of such a difficulty level without making it gimmicky XD.

Do people genuinely think Blizz would release a game where you have to completely avoid getting hit? A game where a boss will just one shot you even with an 'auto attack?' A game where melee characters have to duck in and out to land hits and avoid being wtfbbqsaucepwnd?

I don't think they would. I'm not a fan boi, I just don't think they would be that stupid

I guess the question is (which will soon be answered, god I love sayin that part...) how will they make it as difficult as they propose without doing somthing like this? I mean, how can they make somthing so hard that hardcore players will need to spend months on it without somthing like this... I mean making somthing hard for 25 people to down is 1 thing, but making it hard for a single person to down is somthing else.

I for one can't think of a way to do it other than this, then again i'm sure the people at blizz are far smarter than I :P. I mean I get that we're gnna get 1 shot before we get our full lvl 60 set of gear, but once we get all this gear and we walk on into inferno able to fight through it without insta-dieing how on earth will the uber-l33t hardcore players not just troll there way through in a matter of days? Perhaps the time they claim it will take is simply how much time they expect people to spend to get geared enough for it... Which will be disapointing I hope it's more but I just don't see how they'll do somthing no other game has achived, but if anyone can it's Blizzard.

I hate people complaining about people complaining :P. We're allowed to speculate u know.. Not much else to do considering as it's so close to Diablo 3 release date i'm sure it's more or less the only thing a lot of us can think about.

I think the main comment that i've seen has nothing to do with speculation about how much HP/dmg we have etc. It's just people voicing the notion that being 1 shot by a champion just walking up to u and hitting u with an auto-attack is the wrong sort of difficult (unless ure playing a glass-cannon or somthing similar). Yet after seeing such huge numbers and reading all the stuff they've explained so far about inferno it almost seems like this could be the case and so there discussing it or trying to put it out there that this isn't the style of difficult they want.

I want a really challenging inferno mode, but i wouldn't consider being forced to go into some gimmiky play style/spec to avoid ever even being hit even once the sort of game id enjoy. Sure some abilities can have such power but to just be like if they hit u with an auto-attack u dead... that's not fun and theres many many other methods of making somthing just as if not more challenging without doing it like this. Now I don't actually think blizzard are doing it this way, but just incase they are i'm damn sure gnna say don't want! I'm not asking for a nerf I want an inferno that i'll die in repeatedly and spend months on but for every fight to break down to kiting cus gettin hit means death... That's not the fun or difficult, it's just lame.

170k dmg... even with 90% dmg reduction that's a 17k hit :S. Either we're gnna have loads of HP, this is wrong or inferno is gnna be the wrong type of hard (being 1 shotted isn't hard or fun, it just forces a gimmiky play styles)

a bit haha, I found it a bit grindy to level up to 13 with just the WD because the monsters gave crap exp at those levels, even the skeleton king

Yeh I found it a massive grind till I made a post here asking about ways to level faster and I got some responses on gettin 2 rings with +2-4 dmg (they like double ure dmg it's crazy) and a full set of +exp/lvl and +main stat gear... So I went spam craftign, ended up with around +50xp/kill and 50dmg on each class and after that i just melted through those lvls :D

I hope you're trolling because staying up for 24 hours has little to no effect on health, especially for a once in a decade event like the launch of d3!

I'm almost certain he is trolling, hell 24 hours isn't even a long time i've quite comfortable done 50hr+ sessions of games, mostly when tryin to reach a certain point before the date in which some sort of event happens or when somthing I love first releases and i just want to play it or when u do a weekend long lan party sorta thing.. Yet i've never experienced any repercussions. I intend to spend a similar amount of time when D3 releases, hoping to hit 60 within my first session and i'm sure i'm not alone in this goal... Or perhaps I am and i'm just crazy :D

With the +exp from what I could tell it gives the full exp if the creatues ure killing are 2 (or 3?) lvls above or below u otherwise it DRs at a similar rate to how the actual XP gained DRs. so like if ure lvl 10 and u got +5 exp from killing u gain +5 exp. But if u were to kill a lvl 5 creature u wouldn't gain the full return from it otherwise u could just stack it like crazy and then go farm first quest :P

Ok so basically I was hoping that within the open beta time I would be able to pull all classes to level 13.. It's now Sunday and i've got a 12/9/7/6/5 and seein it's quite a far to do 9 - 13 I fear I may not actually do it in time.

So I was hoping there was some methods in which to level faster than just repeatedly farming through the final quest and that u guys could share these methods? :D thanks.
