Summon all followers and make 4 man party ;)

That's along the lines of what I was thinking a few weeks ago, and it's great to know someone also thinks this is a workable idea. I would say give followers all the item slots your hero has. Additionally, you can choose how many followers you can have active, and the game's player difficulty scales accordingly.

While it sounds like the right thing to do, and maybe you will get a few to turn them on albeit for a short time, I've come to find that most of the gaming communities, especially in D3, have a sense of superiority when it comes to giving back or helping others.

Whether it's just laziness or not thinking their actions really would help, or the dated yet still common practice of "letting the next guy do it."

As pessimistic as my post is, I do hope some people will prove me wrong, and help out a community that is one of the main reasons D3 is still somewhat active today

Pretty much the same way I look at it. If I have Adblock on for a site that I use regularly (assuming, of course, the ads are reasonable), it's usually due to me not even knowing that I'm blocking the ads. I really wish that Adblock plus had synchronized settings across multiple devices so things don't get left in the dust like that.

Just don't use this one. Not sure, but maybe the site has an auto-prune for old accounts. Who knows

    Quote from Volmarius»

Do you have to have normal Diablo 1 or does this MOD require Hellfire as well? I only have D1, not sure tho if that cd even works anymore.
Nope, just needs the Diablo 1 disc, and I believe you can (maybe you have to? Don't remember) rip some files off the CD and not even need it to play the mod. I personally made a copy of the Diablo folder in the Program Files and renamed it to Diablo HD Mod.
Aw crap. I tried it and it's quite good, so that's gonna cost me some time. :)
The resolution gave me head-ache at first (everything is so freakin' tiny!) and kind of kills the atmosphere. And I can't quite get the hang of the necromancer, but they did a nice job. I'm curious to see how things will go on the deeper levels.

Ahh yeah, I can see how it could give one a headache. It's never happened to me, but all that eye strain...ouch.

Call me a purist, but they lost me at:

    New locations
New special and randomly generated bosses
    New spells
    New character skills
    New item types and affixes
    204 unique items
28 sets with 105 set items
    170 crafting recipes

To me, this is sacrilege. Diablo 1 is perfectly fine as it is. No need to slap on a bunch of stuff to make it look like a bullet hell shooter.

Have you at least tried it? I did many months back when DiabloFans had it on its front page, and it made things that the original lacked and did it without being too cheesy. Just think of it as an unofficial expansion like Hellfire

Nerf? Barb is love, barb is life. Buff it to 25000% increased damage.

Merely LOOKING at your enemies will cause them to deteriorate into radioactive goo.

posted a message on My dumb kid lost my DII LOD CD's.....
Weird, considering it downloads from patch 1.12 (it may be 1.13, I don't know for sure) which removes the requirement for the physical discs. You ARE downloading it from Battle.net, right? Maybe browsing their support site would help:

EDIT: Also, what operating system are you running? If it's Windows Vista/7, have you tried running it as an administrator? That usually alleviates certain permission issues that may be causing this problem.

    Good luck!

The colors? Are you talking about scenarios where it looks like the video card took a dump all over your game? Are you running with Windows Vista/7? If so, right-click your desktop and go to "Personalize" and "Themes". Change your theme to "Classic" and try running the game again. Hope this helps ;).

I'm with the OP on the "not caring about the console ports" part. However, there are people who are looking forward to its release. Just suffer through it until the dust settles.

posted a message on DiaBro3 - find your Optimized MP Level, and a quick gear analysis
    Quote from Sham

My wife's monk score doesn't seem that accurate since she can do MP10 very easily. Rates her for MP9.

My wizard is rated correctly as MP10 which is very easy for me as well. :Thumbs Up:

Not sure if people character's are being down-rated because of specs as well?

Remember, the system ranks you on a balance of easy + efficiency. Your wife can easily do MP10, but monsters die a lot faster in MP9. From their FAQ:

DiaBro3, why is my optimal MP level so low?

DiaBro3 is determined to make the game fun for you. The optimal monster power level is derived from multiple aspects, taking into account your gear, effective health, and damage. We arrived at the suggested MP by aiming to lower the amount of deaths per run as well as how efficiently you can kill mobs. We know that someone optimized for MP5 could do MP10, however, taking too long on an elite pack is just not optimal.
We do not want to send you to an monster power level you can get by on, we want to send you somewhere you can optimally crush the content.

Also, I think the site has benchmarks that determine where it's going to place you. For example, your wife could be slightyly lower than Diabro's benchmark for meeting MP10, explaining why she's able to do it so easily, and at the same time, being rated at MP9.

I agree with TB on everything he talked about. It's no surprise that the media maligns video games every chance they get. It's ironic that I gave a college presentation defending video games 2 days ago.

posted a message on Radiant Star Sapphire
As others have stated, the resists are a bit low, but my question is why +armor for the weapon? I'm not saying it's a bad idea, just kind of random, as all the other gems have attributes that would normally appear on weapons. Perhaps switching the helm and weapon stats would make more sense?

    Quote from Irixian

I think there should be sapphires and diamonds. They should do the following -

Sapphire - [weapons] chance to freeze on hit, [helm] skill cooldown reduction, [armor] crowd control reduction

Diamond - [weapons] block chance/parry, [helm] damage reduction (melee/ranged?), [armor] all resist (up to 60)

Sapphires focus on strategic decisions that would naturally arise from a gem that mirrors "cold" attributes.

Diamonds have the best, most global kinds of buff bonuses because they're the most precious gems. Diamonds are defense gems.

I have no idea what maximums to put to these, but I think they could all be balanced so they were neither game breaking nor preferred over existing gems for "obvious build" choices. :)

Hmmm, I didn't even realize until you said something that diamonds are missing too
