It's not about 'opinions'. And it's not about the amount of attempts either - I also spent at least 5-10 attempts on everything except the most easiest ones.

Even when I don't have some important item, it's not that hard to see what part of the dungeon is hard, and what exactly would you win by having some specific item; some items cover for your mistakes (in this case, they aren't needed at all) and others make the dungeon simply a lot easier. A good example would be Tzo Krin's Gaze for Uliana's dungeon - simply because this dungeon is extremely long, and the most objective reason to fail is not even fire damage and/or how hard it is to gather 21 mobs. Even if you simply run through the dungeon, killing everything, you'd still spend several tries simply trying to kill everything in time. THAT'S what makes this dungeon objectively hard - again, it's not even about opinions. When someone says 'waaah this mechanic is hard for _me_' - you shouldn't listen to these people. Like, the 6th difficulty in 'Super Hexagon' is objectively harder than the 1st one, and it's completely pointless to try and argue other opinions on that.

Obviously, some people may find it harder to evade fire than to gather mobs for a 21-hit-EP; however, it's an objective part that both of those things are easy and can be learned in a few pulls; and the real hard part of this dungeon is optimizing everything to make it in time.

Not being hit by the large wall axes in the Wastes dungeon is not harder than making Arachyr's toad lick enemies while you stand AFK, too. The 'hard' part about this dungeon are Armaddons, nothing else, as well as optimizing your gear and finding balance between damage output and CDR/RCR.

I've tried tons of various tactics, and all 24 dungeons I've completed - I've completed on SEASON, with very low paragon and almost no gear. So I am in a position to actually say whether some person making rankings placed some easy dungeon to his 'most hardest' (like you did with Firebird and Jade, for example) for one of two reasons: 1) probably used a not-so-optimal-strategy; 2) probably did every other dungeon with really good non-season gear, gems and so on, while these two dungeons are not about damage at all. Yes, I agree, firebird and Jade are definitely not about damage and gear at all, but that doesn't make them harder than 'simply understand the most optimal route and follow it'. They are still require (again, objectively) a lot less planning and preparation than Uliana/Roland/Akkhan or even Helltooth.

If you're attempting the Season 5 Conquest for Mastering 8 Set Dungeons and are only plan on playing two classes, by far the two best class choices are Demon Hunter and Crusader. Most of their sets don't require much additional gear so farming up the Sets shouldn't take TOO long and their Set Dungeon difficulty isn't too high.

This is also very wrong. In terms of the time/resources you'll spend on characters, the absolutely easiest one is WD. 2 of his dungeons are completely primitive (Arachyr and Zunimassa), and the other two are of medium difficulty. Agree about DH though. Other 4 classes have at least one 'hard' dungeon, and Wizard/Monk don't have any 'easy' ones at all. Barb and Crusader have some of the easiest ones and some of the hardest ones at once.

I've completed all 24 on season in loot-depraved situation (no BK swords for WW set, no Golden Flense for Roland, no Lut Socks for Leap barb, etc etc), and I've gotta say OP's rankings are beyond any logic. I have no idea how could anyone see Jade/Firebird in the 'most hardest'.

Actually, I've seen OPs guides when I was doing the masteries and most of those were very, VERY far from optimal.

I've completed all 24 on season 3 days ago, using a rule 'as soon as I have the set, I go and do mastery - I don't farm any extra items even if guides tell me they are absolutely necessary' - and that's how I'd place the difficulties:

1/5 - Primitive - literally nothing except the set is required, you'll need 1 attempt to memorize the route and 1-2 at most to battle the random shennanigans. Nothing to cheeze, the dungeons are already beyond easy; no legendary gems, no usual gems and no cube powers really required

    Arachyr - Witch Doctor

    Raekor - Barbarian

    Immortal King - Barbarian

2/5 - Easy - you might cheeze the dungeon making it even more easy than it is, but it's not that necessary; you will most likely have to at least choose some cube items like the usual ingeom/leoric/zodiac combo

    Invoker - Crusader

    Zunimassa - Witch Doctor

    Earth - Barbarian

    Tal Rasha - Wizard

    Marauder - Demon Hunter

3/5 - Medium - you will most likely have to optimize your gear a bit, place some gems in your chest/pants/helm; having some special legendaries (belt/bracers/etc) will make those a lot easier though

    Natalyas - Demon Hunte

    Shadow - Demon Hunter

    Innas - Monk

    Sunwuko - Monk

    Light - Crusader

    Unhallowed Essence - Demon Hunter

    Firebird - Wizard

4/5 - Above medium - those can be cheezed by some items like immunity amulets or some special weapons and other items, but even after cheezing, these dungeons usually challenge you with tight timers and/or bad mob times that tend to hide somewhere and plague you with 1 monster remaining

    Helltooth - Witch Doctor

    Raiment - Monk

    Jade Harvester - Witch Doctor

    Delseres - Wizard

    Wastes - Barbarian

5/5 - Hard - the only dungeons that remain hard regardless of your cheezing gear; if anything, those are probably the only ones that almost require some specific gear aside from the set itself

    Akkhans - Crusader

    Vyrs - Wizard

    Rolands - Crusader

    Ulianas - Monk

However, even those could be completed with literally any items - none of all 24 dungeons REQUIRE you to have ANYTHING except for the set itself. Don't trust people who tell you otherwise. Vyr's doesn't require Aether Walker/Swami/Fazula - it will just be a lot easier with those; Roland doesn't require Golden Flense; Akkhan doesn't require the Condemn weapon/shield; Wastes doesn't require BK swords or anything else; Helltooth doesn't require Mara and Uliana's doesn't require Star/Madstone, etc etc.

Well, it's fine really. Still, while I agree that I had to get those radiant star topazes sooner or later, it's the question of the ratio 'price:upgrade'. With 60 mil, I believe I can upgrade my DPS way more than 5k buffed... I just simply don't know how (even after weeks of AH monitoring). This AH monitoring actually allowed me to make about ~200 mil simply by flipping stuff.

But! When I sit on my 400 mil (just sold my previous weapon, which I bought for 15m, for 60m - even my new weapon costed me way less while being much better) and think 'I need to upgrade this and that', I go to AH and all I see is either stuff around 20-30 mil which would not really upgrade my DPS/EHP that much, and 1-2 bil gear. Nothing in the price bracket I'm looking for.

If we put those chest armor topazes aside, my personal opinion is that my priorities should look like this at the moment:

    - Get inna's pants with int and vit - I check every ~hour to try and snatch a pair cheap. Almost got one pair sitting at 1d 12h, but someone was faster.
    - Think of a way to make up for lost EHP from my current depth diggers.
    - Find a ring to replace my current rare one, which will give me at least +5-10k dps buffed.
    - Continue crafting amulets and gloves, while trying to snatch a cheap TR ammy or probably a fine trifecta rare one.
    - Once I establish some fine EHP, break Zunimassa set and get a TR chest and some other second ring.
    - Get rich and get a 6CC Mempo.
    - Get even more rich and get a 1300+ dps, 80+ CD, 1.4 APS, 100+ int, socket black weapon
    - Get even even more rich and make marquise gems

Am I correct with this list of priorities? If I am, or if I'm not, my main question still remains: how much gold should I set aside for each of my 'problematic' slots?

P.S. To the guy speaking about buying gold... I've been constantly wondering, who are those people that sell items for 50% (or less) of its price and buy items for 200% (or more) of its price... Well, if a person is amazed at such smallish amounts like 300-500 mil arising by the time someone hits lvl60, my question is probably answered.

Well, spending 60 mil on 3 radiant star topazes gave me a whopping boost of 5k buffed DPS. Not sure it was the best investment I could possibly have made. :c

I'm still sitting on ~400 mil, even though I didn't upgrade a lot of stuff. I can do MP7 confortably with elites melting before my eyes while I face-tank them even with RD on.

How do I spend those 400 mil efficiently?

Just tried Keep lvl2 MP3 with my current gear... Well, I had to cancel Archon after 5 minutes to rebuff at least magic weapon -_-'

I believe that even my current gear (500 mil still unspent) is way, way more than enough for MP3...

Thanks to both of you, guys!

I have a lot more understanding now.

Still, I'd like to mention one important thing. First of all, I've bought a non-CC mempo with quite high int and EHP stats. It was quite cheap for me, got it around 3 mil. What I still can't do (even after your great tips) is to get an idea of where to start. As I've already said, I have ~500 mil to spend, but I don't know how much should I spend on various pieces. I know for sure I shouldn't be buying a top-notch Mempo (CC) or Lacunis; but what about the rest?

And another question: how much gold (and, as a matter of fact, raw EHP/DPS stats) do I need to be able to comfortably farm higher MP levels? Actually, in my current gear I have no problems with arcane orb in act3 MP4-5. I have to kite a lot in case of phasebeasts and stuff, but still those 500k AO crits with my currently huge APoC do their job well (unless I face RD since I have neither LS nor good LoH).

And, returning to the question of the gold I'll need, while I do realize I have no real chance to get stuff like CC mempo, I also don't really want to resort to low budget choices that are really subpar; I want to try and make the most use of those 500 mil, investing most of it (if not all of it) the best way possible, boosting both DPS and EHP as much as I can.

    Greetings, wizard community!

I might be shouted upon for making a separate topic for my question, but well, I guess it can't be helped.

I haven't played since the times of the attack speed nerf on items, and back in that day I was mostly enjoying the hydra/blizzard kiting build.

As of right now, I've been getting to 60 with the cookie-cutter arcane orb spam build, but it can't do anything against MP10 mobs. I've checked some guides and I don't really like the playstyle of CMWW. That's why I'm currently interested in the Archon build, Jaetch's hybrid looks especially nice.

I have around ~500 mil available to upgrade my current gear, my friend can probably give me some more in case it won't be enough. But I believe I won't be able to pay 1kkk+ for a piece of gear anyway, so a CC mempo might be impossible for me to obtain.

My tag is Beatrice#2650; I mostly play with a friend of mine, who is another wizard, but sometimes I'm playing alone, so I'll be also looking for tips on the follower (Scoundred/Ench, not sure which is better for Archon). That friend of mine will be using another build and would probably supply me with frost novas, so Coldblooded will probably occupy one passive slot in my future build.

What I wanted to ask is how should I start with gearing up. I guess I need to replace almost everything (if not everything at all), but it's hard to start upgrading your gear even when you have money, when you have no idea how much EHP you need to farm act3-4 MP10.

So... If you would be so kind, give an old man (...not really) some tips, will ya?

    Thanks in advance.

How much attacks per second do you have? This question is directed to everyone using the 'old' P.orb + hydra (+ blizzard).
I loved this build when I had 2.64 but my gear dropped to less than 2.00 after the patch so I sold everything in frustration.

Right now I don't have much gold but if I sell all my crit/critdmg gear (which is quite useless for hydra and blizzard I guess) and buy a lot of ias stuff I might get to 2.2+ again...

Is it worth it? I really loved the playstyle. Yes, my 'damage' number won't be big, I'll be killing stuff in a1-a2 way longer than with fat arcane orb crits, but I simply can't stand this gameplay I currently have. I'm basically on the verge of quitting.

I take it ias items aren't that expensive nowadays and I can afford stuff like andy/lacunis/boj way cheaper than it was pre-1.0.3... Coupled with a wand/dagger with 10-11% ias it might be worth it?

    Quote from SolusCoda

It depends on if you are using a fast weapon with lower DPS and IAS, or a slow high dps weapon with low IAS. The first will benefit the familiar, as it is a flat damage increase. The second will benefit magic weapon, as it increases specifically your weapon damage.

It doesn't work that way. After 1.03, Magic weapon: Force weapon is a FLAT 15% damage boost on your character stats screen, same as glass canon.

The topic title sums up my question.

Before 1.03 I was sitting at 2.6+ attacks per second and it was possible to jump far enough with wormhole on each hit you take to spam loads of piercing orbs while the mobs are 1 screen+ away from you and running through blizzard/hydra.

After 1.03 hit, I decided to jump the arcane orb bandwagon and currently sitting at 1.3 attacks per second, 52k dps with 30% crit and 150% critdamage.

Needless to say, I have NO goddamn idea on how you're supposed to kill such pack.

Also most of unicorn elites fall under this category too (before 1.03 I was able to clear ANY pack in whimsyshire without using the bugged bottleneck spot) - I have no idea how you can kill 'rainbow' (the fast ones) unicorns with painful affixes like fast/vortex/firechains-teleporter etc without blizzard/hydra/porb. Same goes with invulnerable minions - that's why I'm going with celestial orb for now actually.

Anyway, I know these packs aren't that hard if you have 200m+ gold gear or you're stupid enough to waste real money. I can't see wizard going around with 1300+ allres and tanking shit even if I had that amount of gold. I was never a fan of whitstans/mosers/stormshield and 75% block sorcs, you know. I want to play a ranged class as a ranged class.

Is there any way to successfully kill such packs with reasonable resistances/armor/hp? By reasonable I mean the amount required for force armor to work - around 30k hp, 300 allres and 5k armor buffed.

//Edit: Yes, I'm using Scoundrel with multishot and cold damage bow. It's great but not THAT great when we're talking about the elite packs in question.
