Act 2. I enjoyed searching for the cube and staff pieces. Then journeying through the arcane sanctuary, then finding the right tomb that matched horazins journal or whatever. Act 2 (despite the flavorless deserts and scenery) felt the most "complete" to me. It really felt like an epic quest.

    Quote from Tralari

Someone actually gave me my first SoJ. I was so happy I immediately went and got a Ballista for it. Then I was sad again since I didn't have a SoJ to buy something else. :P
Ballista was my first SoJ purchase as well, back when the pierce/guided bug was still around.

posted a message on Hey guys
I'd like to re-introduce myself. I've been browsing these forums for years now, and I signed up and made a few posts a couple years back but I don't remember my account name or info so I decided to make a new account. So... hi again :)

I'm a huge fan of the series. I've been playing D2 since patch 1.07 or so (back in the day when bowazons could glitch pierce with guided arrow, sojs were the main currency, zealots were the best palys and hammerdins were unheard of, fire wall and frozen orb sorcs, immortal king and tal rashas armor were IMPOSSIBLE to find, enigma, hoto and other powerful runewords didn't exist and cow runs were 100x more popular than baal runs). I played Diablo 1 before D2 came out, but I didn't get a PC until a couple years later so I just played at a friends house until he moved, so I had no way of playing D2.

ANYWAY. I'm on the fence about how I feel about the game. Some of the skills seem very WoW-ish. I don't like how they changed everyones resources from just mana to all sorts of weird shit. I don't like achievements. I HATE the cash shop. But there are some things I do like.

I like that they expanded gems. I like the new rune system (runewords in D2 are so powerful nobody uses normal unique or set drops anymore except in places where runewords can't be placed like boots, etc.) I like the new classes. Among a few other things.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll buy the game because it's Diablo 3. The gameplay looks like Diablo (except some of the skills that auto target enemies like many of the Monks abilities) But I haven't gotten to play the beta so what do I know.

That's another thing that bothers me. I got into Burning Crusade, Wrath, Cataclysm, and Starcraft 2 betas all in the first wave. But for Diablo 3 I get nothing. Ugh.

I guess that's it though. I'll be posting more often now that the game has a release date. Oh, and the release date is 3 days after I move across the country... so I probably won't have a whole lot of time to play for at least a week.

posted a message on Preordered CE online but want to play at release? I got ideas!
Question. Are they letting everyone download the full client/patches before the game comes out? That way those of us going to midnight launches can just come home, type in a CD Key and get to playing? I really don't want to have to wait 2-3 hours to patch because of bogged down servers.

I remember downloading D2 patch 1.10 on release day on a 56k modem in '03 when EVERYONE was doing the same thing. Not fun times.
