I do understand the limitations, and requirements of allowing a greater field of view. However, Grim Dawn did it just fine, and PoE 2 is also increasing their zoom distance due to player feedback. This can definitely be done, as it also occurs automatically during the Ashava D4 world boss encounter. Obviously they need to be using their time on other more important systems, but at the end, even allowing 10% further would go along way for many people.
Appreciate the update, we very much enjoy seeing the progress and getting a sneak peak what has been happening behind the scenes.
This post will probably never be seen, but one thing that would be nice to at have at least be discussed, is the players ability to zoom out a bit more than what is shown in the current game-play footage of D4. Many of us prefer to zoom out a bit more than what is currently shown on D4, and D3, and it is a very common complaint on PoE. This option would great for many players.

I will likely add more to this later.
