Its strange I found the wizard to be the weakest class of the five

Barb: I also felt that the barb was easy, and laid waste to anyone in your path.
DH: The first few levels I didn't enjoy the DH at all, but as I hit around lvl8 and equipped dual x-bows I really started to have fun and started to feel more powerful
WD: I too was not expecting to like this class. Like you I also actually enjoyed it! Great survivability and I really love the sound effect of the breaking jar lol
Monk: I never ended up playing the monk to much, but what I did play I really enjoyed. What felt weird to me is the fact I had duel swords yet none of my abilities actually physically used the swords, they were pretty much just eye candy on my character. I guess I was expecting monks to be limited to using staves and fist weapons or something to that effect.

posted a message on Diablo III gaming headset
    Hey DiabloFans

I just picked up the Diablo III gaming headset today, thought I'd give a quick review.

Cost me $119 CAN at NCIX. This is my first real gaming headset, I used a cheap logitech headset before this.

The Physical: The headset is real lightwieght, forms nicely around my ears, and looks fantastic. It's built with pretty high quality. I won't go into the specifics here as you can just read them off the offical webpage. The cool red lights that shine from the set can be programmed to do various different patterns.

The Audio: Since this is my first real gaming headset, I don't have much to compare to, but I will say for the price range, the audio is amazing. I played Age of Conan for a few hours, and I was so immersed in the game, This was due to the high quality sounds, and the ability to block out outside noise and insulate your ears in pure gameworld awesomness.

I tested the mic playing call of duty on my PS3 and it worked great. Now I should mention, everywhere I read online said "this mic won't work with ps3/xbox360" but I tried it anyway, and low and behold, it worked like a charm, just plug and play. There was an issue though on the ps3, where it seemed the headset would lose connection for a minute or two and then randomly come back, it could have just been the game i was in, or that i havent installed the lastest firmware, but considering its not suppose to work at all with ps3, I cant really count this as a negative.

anyways im impressed and happy with this thing, Can't wait to use it playing D3!

posted a message on RIP Release Date Speculation thread
Some good times were had, it got off topic from time to time, but I think it was also one of the more fun threads to read. Especially lately, we all knew it was close, so speculation would change as every passing week went by with no news of a release date. People made bets and thusly had to make shameful posts today.

It's going to be a slow 2 months!

Until it comes out? I has to come out eventually, so if we keep buying into "soon" we will eventually be right. If you keep disbelieving it, you will eventually be wrong.

Who's the silly one now Mr. Negative Nancy?

That's the most logical thing I've read all night

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
    http://us.battle.net...jPfm!YfU!YbZaaZ

This is primarily a leveling build for the wizard. It generates arcane power and uses lots of slowing effects to control crowds of mobs into one area and then uses Disintegrate with explosive effects to destroy masses at once.

Primary: Magic Missile with Attunement rune. Primarily for arcane power generation.

Secondary: Disintegrate with Volatility rune. Will be my offensive ability of choice, I really like the animation for this skill and with Volatility causing mobs to explode it just seems epic!

Defensive: Teleport with the Wormhole rune. For when I have to get the hell outta dodge.

Arcane: Blizzard withe Grasping Chill rune. Gives a nice aoe slow which supports my Disintegrate ability nicely.

Conjuration: Ice Armor with Chilling Aura rune. Gives a nice amount of slowing effect for melee mobs around me for further control.

Mastery: Archon with Teleport rune. Highly damaging attacks with the ability to move quickly with teleport.

Passives: Glass Cannon (more damage straight up), Galvanizing Ward (good life regen and less self buffing), Blur (Further increases my ability to withstand melee damage)

posted a message on How will you group
I notice a bunch of people saying they're going to try and recruit friends, and it makes me think - how many of us act as unpaid agents for blizzard. I know I do it. I am guilty of texting old gaming buddies from wow and other games and making sure they're going to get d3, and giving them tons of info if they're still on the fence about it. Who knows maybe there will be some kinda recruit a friend system in d3 where we will actually receive an in-game incentive for doing it :)

posted a message on How will you group
Just wondering what most people are planning on doing for groups, will you be in a guild? Will you have friends in r/l to play with? Or will you just run pugs from general chat?

I've been weighing the pros and cons of joining a guild - It seems like a pretty good idea since it gives you a large pool of people to group with, forums to organize, and probably access to some kind of ventrillo/teamspeek server. My questions are will there be any kind of in-game guild interface or support? Also will I be able to use a guildmates blacksmith if for example they have a top tier blacksmith and I do not?

I will have few r/l friends playing D3 but with work and schedules all mixed up its hard to find a reliable time to group. So that leaves pugs. I have no real problems with pugs - I'm not an elitist - I would say the biggest downside of pugs is people have no sense of obligation to stay with the group through a section of content, they may get what they want and take off.

In the end I'm thinking guilds look like the best option, whether or not they are supported in game.
Well im off to go find a guild

    cheers

Basically, you're just one more of that brainless mass that prefers to be addicted to something like its a drug and call it good for that. Addiction isn't good, its pathetic.

Well judging by your post count I'd say your a hypocrite. And the "brainless mass" you refer to happen to be the majority of people who play blizzard games. I'm sorry to say but people far more qualified to talk on the subject have confirmed what I said.

All the people complaining and b*tching about changes to the ruin system and several other aspects of D3.

Let me tell you right now, Diablo 3 will be a success. It will be addictive. You will feel special and unique. If you think for a second that Blizzard, with the resources and talent they have, would make a game otherwise, you are mistaken.

These games are specifically designed to be powerfully phsycologicaly addictive - like a drug, they give your brain stimuli that makes you feel the senses of acheivement and empowerment, they even have the power to cause your body to experience real adrenaline and stress.

If we spent this much time breaking apart and analyzing and complaining about our own society could you imagine what a different country we'd live in.

Ultimately people are going to like the game or not - and I'd bet my bottom dollar if you are the latter, you will be a minority.

    /end rant

Good post. I'm actually picking up the book of cain in a week or so and it's good to hear what other diablo fans think about it. I'm not expecting great writing but I am expecting a great collector item with some amazing art work. From what I read here I won't be dissappointed.

posted a message on What if you won a Beta Key?
For me, playing the beta would be more about experiencing the different classes to make a more informed choice on what I would like to play as on release day. Like you, I also have my eye on the wizard - I think the spell animations look great and I'm a huge teleport spammer.

As for the game world itself I'm interested to see how it plays, how it runs on my PC, and I'd like to have a tast of act 1 as I'm getting the Book of Cain for my birthday next week and it would be great to read that, then be able to jump into the modern diablo universe.

I've been following diablo podcasts and forums now for the last year ( and searching for info on a possible d3 far before it was ever even announced) I'm beyond excited for this game to release! Good luck to everyone wanting to get in. And regardless I'll see everyone in game in a few months time :miniD: :d3d: :d3d:
