Why you must wear a set to help you not to wear a set (it's a little ironic). I propose the option for the ancient buff to exist not from items but from a passive skill. This skill will ONLY be highlighted if you wear ancient gear and no sets (even if it is one piece). This way we can use rings to make the builds more viable. Also I propose a slight increase in damage maybe in the range of 150 - 200 %.

I'm afraid that a 200% increase per ancient item would make builds like Spirit Barrage way overpowered.

I agree that it would be a concern for the LoN bonus to get attached to those other items, but realistically, there will always be a meta or some combination of items that is strongest. And honestly, I'd rather the bonus be tied to something that makes builds relevant than having myriad options of subpar setups that are in the shadow of the 6 pieces.

    Excellent point!

With the sweeping changes coming in patch 2.6.1, specifically the massive buffs to all of the 6-piece class sets, a good handful of the Legacy of Nightmare builds will be left in the dust. This got me to thinking of ways to buff the potency of LoN without sending builds like the WD Spirit Barrage, Monk LTK, and Crusader Bombardment through the roof.

I think I've landed on a pretty cool idea. Admittedly, I haven't fully fleshed it out, and there could be glaring issues that I haven't considered. But, the main idea is that the LoN set can now buff anything as long as it is not part of a 6-piece set. By this I mean LoN could now accommodate weapon sets like Jesseth or Manajuma, any of the craftable armor sets like Aughild's or Demon's Marrow, and even...Blackthorne's! However, it would not buff any aspect of a 6-piece set, even if it is only the (2) or (4) bonus.

I feel like this could really expand the viability of the crafted sets, create a variety of builds that could push GR70 so that players could farm for Primal Ancients, and allow players to enjoy their own playstyle without feeling severely under-powered in the endgame.

Please, let me know what you think and point out potential areas of friction!
