So what's gonna happen? We don't know. I think there's a 1% chance that Blizzard is doing anything along the lines what I pointed out in the previous paragraph for D3. There's a bigger chance (say 33%) they're working on D4. There's about an equally big chance they're working on a reboot (DEMONS VERSUS ANGELS F2P VR MOBILE MMO or whatever; I don't really care what they call it as long as they stop this "Nephalem" bullshit, imho). And then there's a chance - like you said, Aerisot - of them doing none of this and just letting the franchise die. The Diablo 3 job posts could easily just be for recruiting purpose and the new game could be something entirely different. Like an casual, clicker-based MMORPG in the Overwatch universe. Or whatever. :-)

I personally liked the Nephalem theme, maybe because i releated with the Nephilims and i just love that concept.

Few things that are wrong are the difficulty curve (you put set items and go from T3 to T13 in an instant), no difficulty cap, too much powercreep and it needs a bit more depth in the item system/endgame content.

Microtransactions are the worst thing you can do to a game that you pay 60 dollars to start with. It's just overgreed from developers unless it's a F2P game. I'll definetly remember when games came with all the customization included or at most with a 15$ DLC cost instead of the gambling RNG lootboxes that are never going to give you what you want.

Once you've experienced it all and you hit the ceiling and all there is is farming higher numbers (increasing paragon and gem levels for higher GR numbers) the game becomes stale.

Yeah, this game is definitely underappreciated. I mean, if this game was shit I wouldn't have 4k hours played.

Ceiling in PoE is higher but the road is no different. Some of the 40/40 challenges and Lvl100 are pretty much like a paragon grind. I agree that a paragon cap and difficulty cap would've been a good idea but still unless you have time for those endless grinds it doesn't make that much of a difference.

At most PoE has more gambling in it and you are more often stuck on those RNG walls than in D3 and unless you are addicted to dopamine bursts it doesn't make that much of difference either.

As someone who plays both D3 and PoE, my only gripe with D3 is that there is no 'finish line' (like e.g. level 100 or 40/40 Challenges in PoE). Every time a D3 season starts, I just have to ask myself "if I'm not going to play for the whole ~3 months, why even bother?"

I wish that at least your "highest rank on the leaderboard achieved" in Diablo 3 saved somewhere on the profile. I mean, sure, the people who farmed the whole season deserve their credit and high ranking finishers and a place in the hall of fame, that's fine, but I think that my rank 1 achieved mid season should have some weight too. It being visible to people who specifically inspect my profile would be ok.

It just feels pointless to do that again, and I don't want to farm the whole season either, which just means I do the season journey and quit immediately. And the season journey is just remarkably short, and the only way D3 endgame is actually fun is if you push. It just feels like a terrible design loophole.

Level 100 and 40/40 feel more of an endless grind and giant time sink than anything skill based. In D3 pushing as high as you can still fun. Same as PoE, to compete on the leaderboars/ladders you need to play 16/h per day. I just don't know why people are so obsessed with ladders in d3 even if they have no time to compete there. All the mechanics on PoE are deeper for sure but once you understand them it doesn't make that much of a difference. The finish line and Paragon/GR cap would've been healthy for sure.
Aiming for p1k-1.5k and GR100 with multiple builds seems like a good objective for seasons. A SSF mode on D3 would have been a blast for sure. Few of the only things that felt shit was the 100000000000000 damage numbers, but the combat was just sooooooooooo smooth compared to PoE. Not to say it was much more rewarding. I personally missed killing goblins and watch loot explosions. And all the good lookin cosmetics included, probably in D4 you will have to pay 400$+ to unlock all.

I'll start saying that i've been playing PoE for 1k hours since i quit D3. I came back recently to realize how good some things are here compared to other games.

The game surprisingly still gave me hours of fun when i logged onto my non-seasonal characters and played some rifts. I wasn't aiming for the leaderboards or anything like that just roleplaying, listening to music and slaying monsters non stop and getting rewards in every rift. I had all cosmetics unlocked and didn't had to pay for any lootboxes or microtransactions to customize my characters. The animated wings were so beatiful and made my crusader look like a true god.

I just cannot explain how wrong i were on some of the things i said before i left. This game was worth every euro i spent on it. Glad i still can enjoy this and even if there isn't anything new the game on it's own is great. It doesn't feel buggy at all and it's the smoothest action i've ever experienced.

Just wanted to shoutout all D3 fans out there before we get D4 MMO version with lootboxes and such. I'm just glad i got to play D3 again.

posted a message on BONES OF RATHMA Necromancer Set: Verdict & Thoughts

I was using this build for hardcore and i suggest using wisdom of kalan + bone armor instead of simulacrum. It solves some toughness problems but then you drop your double damage skill and it results inferior to the trag'ouls in damage output. The cheat death is just excepcionally bad desing for hardcore players. Once you proc you have no more skeletons to bodyblock. Ancient parthan defenders as bracers are really bad for this build because you mainly want to stay back and not in a 25 yard radious. I see some specific damage reduction bracers for all builds or just only for this one because it definitely sucks.

Another problem is the army of the dead skill. The cooldown doesn't refresh fast enough and takes too many slots to get the helm that gives you the damage rune into your gear. You instanly loose unity in your cube for rorg because the other 2 rings are locked. Using skeletal mages and army of the dead as a dual dps is not viable because of gear slots problems. All of this makes the 2 piece bonus completely useless. This lefts mages as main dps skill but the mages durantion makes it imposible to have all 10 mages summoned while full essence for the singularity rune.

    Quote from TianZi»

    It's pretty much terrible.

    1) There is no incentive to create competition.

    2) As far as "new builds" goes, it's more like an old build with mistakes in gearing/talents.

Fully agree. The word "build" in any rpg includes structure and sinergy between skills, gear and playstyle. Can someone explain me why is there a fucking cindercoat in the cube when there is no fire spender? The chakram skill doesn't do anything in you skill bar. You might as well never use it since it requires melee range and you are playing multishot. Rorg doesn't make any sense either. It's in the gear jsut to equip marauder's helm which is fully useless and doesn't bring any effect at all. Even a blind faith would make more sense. The last point is competing. No one is going to waste their time taking screenshots of the map and learning where are all the elites, what type of mobs, affixes, etc just to "compete" with joke gear in a gr35. The main point of d3 is grinding and feeling progression as you do it.

Free bounty materials are welcome though.

    Patch 2.6 Adventure Mode Changes

    Patch 2.6 Adventure Mode Changes

      • New Zones: The Moors & The Temple of the Firstborn
        • The fog-enshrouded Moors and the darkened Temple of the Firstborn can be explored in Adventure Mode through a new waypoint on the Act 2 map.
      • Set Dungeons
        • The user interface has been updated to better explain tier completion requirements.
          • With this, the basic completion tier must be finished within the given time limit.
        • The time limit to complete a Set Dungeon has been increased to 5 minutes
        • Necromancer Set Dungeons have been added to Adventure Mode
        • Set dungeon monsters are now tracked on the mini-map when the dungeon begins
        • All Basic Tier monster kill requirements have been lowered
      • Bounties
        • Four new Waypoints have appeared in Act IV. Each one has bounties to complete. These Realms of Fate are the unintended consequences of the battle between the nephalem and Diablo in the High Heavens
      • Greater Rifts
        • Players who die in solo Greater Rifts can now choose to immediately resurrect. When choosing this option, the time remaining on your death timer will be removed from the remaining Greater Rift time and your cooldowns will be advanced by the same amount.
Well most of this stuff is to make the game even more casual. Tbh i liked the challenges in set dugeons. Monsters showing in the map was the only thing needed the rest are just to adress people crying in reddit because they can't beat any challenge. The new areas look more like d2 and it will definitely be fun to play them, also hope they are added to the gr map pool. The solo death timer penalty doesn't really affect me since i switched to hardcore but i think is just adding even less penalty to people who die and making the game less intense.

posted a message on Shrouded Moors is a cool area.

One of the things i was looking for towards this patch was new areas and improved greater rifts floors. Shrouded Moors are imo a journey back into d2 with less rainbow-like scenarios. I really hope that landscape will be added to the grift map pool. I was somewhat tired of the same map architecture and same maps over and over. Would like to see more areas/maps in the future and some reworks for the current maps at least when it comes to grifts. This one was definitely in the right direction.

    posted a message on Bot??
    Quote from franehr»

I have a question about botting. I was wondering how to recognise bot leecher? what I mean is what is game developer doing to prevent some guy to intentionally take(buy) 3 other accounts set them to bot on 3 other pc, and set them to drop items they farm while playing legit on primary account .. for exsample isn't it obvious something fishy is going on on leader boards with that blackbird guy(eu) ... he has already 8 primal ancient equipment... when I compare him to other players they usually have 3-5 peces of equipment...also he is 3000 para and I am 1400 and I don't have single one usefull peace of equipment while he has 8 maby more..

That's a good point. If have some external bot account that drops and farms primals/ancients for you the actual playtime won't be reflected on your account. Even if you look legit. Play with others that bot could be impactful as well. If you play with someone that cheats uses thud or whatever that advantage will transfer if you play together in a 4 man group.

posted a message on So, no banwave this season?

I was talking about better gaming experience from personal point of view. Of course you can play whatever you want. Cheat death is to avoid getting one shotted because yes that is a thing in d3. You can instantly loose all your health from full to 0 from one attack. If that wasn't a thing maybe cheat death could be erased. The amulet is worthless. Better to have a hellfire that doesn't get destroyed in the process and leaves your hero weakened.

posted a message on Non-season leveling gear for Necromancer

For a quick leveling is just better to have a clan and powerlevel each other to 70. It takes 1-2 rifts max to get to level 70 with a gem of ease rank 70. After that just craft/gamble lvl 70 items. Maybe upgrade rares on the cube and you are good to go in less than 20 min.

To be honest if you want a cleaner place to play just switch to hardcore. I did that after getting 1300p this season on sc. And i won't ever look back. The difference between actually playing the game paying attention to everything on the screen and randomly pressing buttons is huge. The game feels less like a grinding bot fest where you become the bot yourself just doing stuff without thinking.

Sometimes is hard to tell which players are botting and which ones are dedicated. With the actaul power creep you can grind paragons fairly easily. I would completely ban all cow level exploiters though but i think they won't since you can't really tell who is doing that.
