posted a message on Beta Overachiever: 5 Tips for launch day & 5 Opinions
    Quote from claven

O HAI GUSY I PLAYD TEH FIRST 45 MINUTS OF THE GAME LAL AND NOW I M AN EXPRT!!!!1111

    seriously?

Two things: first, he didn't say he was an expert. Second, he did level up all the characters to max and get all the achievements in the latest beta patch; to me, those're some good qualifications for posting tips/opinions for people who haven't played the beta, which is all he did. I would guess that a lot of people who post tips/opinions haven't done this is the latest patch, and that's okay too, but it certainly gives the OP an edge, in my opinion.

You'll be able to play... if you're awake. After I had mine out I was in and out of sleep for about three days straight, due to heavy medication. I've heard others say that they were fine afterwards and no more pain than what a normal Advil or something would cure. A the worst, you can play between naps. ;)

Definitely be wary of a phishing scam here, though; if they ask for any of your info when you e-mail them back, you'll know that it was a scam. Be careful.

I was guessing Barb/Wiz would be the top two, and sure enough they are, not to mention that Barb's #1 by a wide margin. I think it's a case of a lot of people wanting to play D2 characters in an updated/new world.

Look, this has gotten a little hyperbolic. You certainly won't "go to jail" or be otherwise in any kind of legal trouble for gambling gold in-game. However, gambling in-game IS against Blizzard's ToS, so you could get your account put on probation or even banned for doing so.

As far as why Blizzard won't just set up their own system for you to bid gold on matches, several people above have demonstrated already how that could be exploited.

Like others have said, I think this is a cool idea, but as it's already against the ToS, don't count on it happening.

posted a message on How do married men play D3?
In response to the title question, with a computer. *rimshot* But seriously, if you "aren't allowed" to play as much as you'd like because you're married, you probably have bigger problems than video games. If you compromise with your wife and/or each understand that the other has hobbies and account for that, then you probably have a mature/successful marriage.

Ahhh, okay, thought we just had to pick from the list. :) In that case, while I still think Pandora is a good name to use for a female Wizard, I'll also suggest GoldenSpike for a Monk, as a golden spike is used to officially tap the first cask of ale during the strong ale season. In the olden days, lots of monks would fast for all 40 days of Lent, but would be able to stay healthy (or at least alive, heh) by drinking very fortified ale.

Hey, yazwashere: can't you start a vote when you start a thread? Might be easier on you if you did so, then you wouldn't have to wade through pages of votes, count, and add to get the results. Anyway, my vote's for Pandora, good one!

Maybe so and maybe not, but you're getting that facepalm image above because there are dozens--if not hundreds--of people on this site who would kill to have just ONE beta key, and you're kind of coming off as complaining that you have ONLY one.

It wasn't the most sensitive post to make, just sayin'. Besides, how much more bug-checking can you do with an additional account?

posted a message on Possibility of Transmog?
Another thing to consider is the time while you're trying to piece together a whole armor set. In D2 it could take weeks/months to do this. So let's say that you have 4/5 pieces but the non-set shoulders you have just don't look good with the rest; you could transmog that one piece temporarily to something else that looks good, then forget about transmogging when you finally get those shoulders. Then again, maybe everything will look good together model-wise, and it'll just be a matter of changing the color with a dye. It seems like most people transmog stuff in WoW to fit a certain color scheme, and dyes take care of that already.

posted a message on Possibility of Transmog?
After just watching the armor previews for some of the classes, I started thinking about transmogrification. If you're not familiar, transmog is a feature in WoW and other MMOs that uses the appearance of one piece of gear while swapping its stats for another's; in other words, being able to customize your appearance at all times.

While I haven't messed with this feature much myself in WoW, I know that it's become extremely popular, and after looking at all those awesome armor sets for D3, I can tell that some people are going to prefer certain ones over others.

So what do you think, will Blizzard ever implement transmogrification in D3, or will they just stick with the dye system that's in the game now? If transmog was available, would you use it, or do you prefer being able to tell immediately what kind of gear someone has based on their overall appearance?

posted a message on Met Bashiok at PAX East- Some Inferno related clarifications!
Awesome read and excellent questions! I was surprised to hear Bashiok changing his opinion on how long it'll take folks to get though Inferno, but given the AH stipulation you presented, it does make sense. Of course, if you knew that a person who finished Inferno very, very quickly did it because he purchased all his gear upgrades on the AH or RMAH, I think it would taint that achievement. Just my $.02 though.

posted a message on Picking your class
I was leaning toward the Wizard at first, but I think I'll be going with a Barbarian now and rolling my Wizard second. The person I'll be playing with the most is definitely going DH, so I figured a melee class would give us a better pair.
