Sep 23, 2014Lots of good ideas here; if you haven't already posted this on the official Blizzard forums, you should. By the way, I like how you focused on just the classes you know really well instead of trying to make something up for every class.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Apr 17, 2014Zhaph posted a message on Doesn't it bother you that there will be no OP legendaries?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Revolutions
"So they made a really cool legendary in a fluke accident and regardless of it "working as intended" you can easily draw the conclusion that there will never ever be a weapon that will come close to being as strong as pre nerf Shard of Hate which is rather stupid considering the fact that they want to make legendaries feel more legendary."
This is where you lost me entirely. Not only can I not "easily" draw that conclusion, but in fact no one can draw that conclusion at all. That is, unless you've got a crystal ball that lets you see what all the yet-to-be-implemented legendary/set weapons will be. Fixing one bugged weapon doesn't mean that all future weapons MUST be less effective than it was when it was bugged. That's just terrible logic you've got going there.
Mar 19, 2014So... this is just an "I told you so," loosely arranged into what appears to be some kind of argument, but lacking any critical evidence/support? All those quotations just seem to be calling people out for no reason, and a lot of them don't really follow, argument-wise. The RMAH is down. Go play the game you ranted for (but apparently only recently bought).Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Finally, please work on the following: 1) coming up with a GOOD reason to argue for/against something next time, like trying to affect change; 2) presenting logical arguments with reasonable evidence from trusted sources.
For what it's worth, I personally never liked the RMAH and never used it, but this anti-RMAH trolling after the fact is just ridiculous.

And how does this statement not apply to your original post (or any since)...?Quote from Twoflower
Funny to see that after more than a year we stillhave the same fucktards with the same arguments.
Feb 27, 2014Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Looks like that's a resounding "no." I thought you did a great job of staying patient and trying your best to actually explain the argument/situation at hand, Daisy, so thanks. I also want to say that I think the cursed chests are a nice challenge, but I've been able to clear the 2-3 that I've found so far (albeit on Torment I), so like the way they are currently tuned.Quote from daisychopper
So are you going to respond at all to the possibility that your skill/gear setup may be to blame for your lack of success so far?Quote from Finder
Let me guess, you're an action house warrior or play on a difficulty that provides you no challenge whatsover? The thumping your chest you are trying to do really isn't impressing anyone though.
May 29, 2013Zhaph posted a message on BATDOG! Just another take on the new CoB builds going aroundCan I make a suggestion to you and everyone else posting cool ideas for new builds in videos? If you would please also post a link to the build using Blizzard's skill calculator, it would make it easier to check out the builds. Sometimes I'm just not somewhere that I can watch/listen to a video, but I really want to the get the information. Please note that this is not a criticism of your build or of you, it would just be nice to have. Thanks, and I look forward to checking this out later!Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
May 21, 2013Although I don't think having one random chest show up somewhere within an act constitutes an addition to the "end game," I do think that this is a cool idea. One thing that I've always felt is lacking in D3 is the excitement of opening chests; it would be neat if there were more to open, and if they were better-stocked. I'd even settle for more resplendent chests, to be honest, though I think the idea of ONE random excellent chest hidden somewhere in a given act is a really cool idea, especially if it's well-guarded.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Nov 23, 2014I cannot be the only one that thinks whining about not being able to get on the PTR is downright pathetic, can I?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Has it occurred to any of you that they don't really want 60% of the playerbase testing? Has it occurred to any of you that they don't want people getting on just to play with the new toys, that they actually want serious, concerted testing being done by a limited group?

Ok, I guess it's time for fucking awesome stories...Quote from boz0
With my Woh and very average gear, it goes up to 34M. I've tried it with a 3750 dps unsocketed Maximus (currently equipped on my profile), just to check whether it was worth a gift, and it only went up to 44M. I thought it would go way higher with a 2-hander, so I'm a little surprised.
How high does your FB dot tick? And do you think that Maximus is worth a gift?
The FB DOT tick value depends greatly on the following:
- Speed of your weapon. A 3800 DPS 2h mace will always result in much stronger FB DOT ticks than a 3800 DPS 2h sword, because sword's DPS is so high only because of the attack speed, but FB DOT doesn't scale with it.
- Target type: elite or non-elite. Since most top wizards run the Furnace + Bane of the Powerful + SoJ + Unity, they deal 2x more damage vs elites or even more. And since people like to show off, they'll tell you they hit for zillions of damage without clarifying that it's only vs elites. So you should take their replies with a grain of salt.
- Legendary gems. Lots of people use Zei's Stone of Vengeance and the numbers they tell you are most probably from 50+ yards away from a target (yet people rarely mention that when they tell you they deal zillions of damage per tick). This is another reason why you should take replies with a grain of salt.
- Buffs/debuffs. FB DOT snapshots those when being applied. This means that with exactly the same gear your FB DOT can tick for 100M or for 1B depending on what buffs you had and what debuffs were applied to your target before your first fire attack landed on that target. People usually tell you the highest tick they got even if that was in a group with +200% damage buff and +200% incoming damage debuff.
Aug 27, 2014It is controlled by difficulty level. Only drops on Torment and higher. And if you are able to run T6 it will drop 100% of the time. And goes down from there.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Now I'm not totally sure of the other numbers but here is a rough guess:
T6 100% drop rate.
T1 is I think I saw somewhere a flat 25% chance.
Like I said I don't know the numbers for sure except the 100% on T6. So take all of the other numbers with a grain of salt.

Here's a novel solution. How about they just give us the appropriate space needed to stash all this loot for 12 characters? I paid $120 dollars for this game so far, and I can't even store the loot for a loot hunting game.Quote from DannieRay23
Mainly because you like the game and spend enough hours of your day playing it so you feel is worth to pay to enhance your experience.Quote from garnok
I already bought the game. Why would i want to pay more for anything but big expansions? I wouldnt, and neither would any sane person
Lets say I lose 2 hours a week struggling with organizing my stash and deciding what to shard and what to keep, if I was able to buy extra stash space and it would cost me less than what I would make if I spent those 2 hours working instead. Then paying for stash space would actually be the smart investment.
I'll buy as many expansions as they can possibly create. What I don't want is to be nickel & dimed for simple quality of life improvements. IF they want to charge people $5 for funny hats and all that ignorant shit, go ahead. But stash space impacts the game greatly.
Apr 2, 2014Really, the one thing I miss so far, is the ability to see my stash (or at least the ones that were eligible to be put on the auction house), all my characters, my characters inventory, and what gear my characters are wearing, without having to log into the game / start a game / join a game.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Now you either have to log into the game separately for each hero, depending on what exactly you want to see, or you could log in as one hero and then view your own profile from in game I suppose.

there was not a forum to get on and bitch about the fact that in the middle of getting a piece of tri-force the system green-screened.
Mar 19, 2012I got into the beta back in patch 13, and the first thing I did was sit my girlfriend down to play while I quietly watched and took notes. As a bit of background, she has played a bit of D2 with me, but has never made it past act 3 on normal difficulty. She does play a few other games on her iPad, but mostly of the take-care-of-a-pretty-horse variety. Also, she is not a native English speaker.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
She chose the female monk and went to it. The first thing she mentioned was how much easier it was to know where she was going, and what she was supposed to do. She liked having the map on the screen and having the quest prompts ticking off as she completed them.
As soon as she got a few skills going (especially Lashing Tail Kick) she started loving smashing monsters. I was interested to find her saying phrases that were exactly in line with Jay Wilson's statements early on in development. At one point she said, "Ooooh, I'm strong!" She also mentioned at one point that she would play the game even if I wasn't there. My favorite quote though was when she encountered the little demon imps and in her sweet little voice said, "Come here babies so I can kill you."
Afterwards, I talked to her about how it felt and especially how it compared to Diablo 2. One of the first things she said was that she felt "powerful" in game. She also expressed that in D2, she never really knew what was going on, why she was doing what she was doing, and where she was supposed to go, but that in D3, she always understood what she was doing. We also talked about stat and skill allocation differences, and that really helped me to understand many of the D3 development decisions. She was able to pick up the game and play it without spending a lot of time reading or feeling confused.
Now a few notes from my perspective.
After I played the game for myself, I became considerably less concerned about some of the things that I found annoying while watching her play. As a spectator, I found the on-screen quest information to be a bit obtrusive, and I was very distracted by the pop-up "massive blow" kill counters. However, as a player, I found both of these to be far less problematic, though I would still very much like to be able to turn the latter off.
Due to a surprising (and somewhat disheartening) number of technical hurdles and bugs (who wrote that launcher, yikes!), and to my pretty busy schedule, I haven't played as much as I would like. I can say though that both melee characters a lot of fun to play. I expected the Barbarian to be fun to play, and he did not disappoint. I was hopeful about the Monk beforehand, and after having played him, I would say that he will definitely be one of my favorite characters to play. I found his pacing, style and skills to be very entertaining. I don't think that either my girlfriend or I will ever get tired of Lashing Tail Kicking our enemies faces off.
-the developers were spot on in achieving their goals for bringing in new players, even to the point of getting my girlfriend to use the same phrases to describe the game that the devs have previously used
-barbs and monks are sweet
