Made some changes to gear and skills - any advice on what to upgrade next with about 1mil? I still feel pretty squishy in MP1, trying to do the Alk route.

    Here is my armory link:

What's a good health and res. that I should be at, before focusing more on the damage stats?

Wow classic tanky style barb , reminds of the good ol days - spamming the revenge key hehehe. :)

Welcome back , barb builds these days are fast and furious to maximize paragon and farm effectively . - Whirlwind , Hammer of the ancients , Throw builds and Rend builds are the most popular at the moment. All have 1 thing in common - Speed both from equipment and the Sprint skill.

Look to upgrade movement speed , crit chance , crit hit damage.
Life steal works well once you start building up your dps - Barbs can use life steal from the passive , belts and weapons.
Hellfire ring can provide useful stats depending on the proc - also 35% bonus xp which is nice for paragon farming.
Some extra vitality and around 400-500 all res should be more than enough for mp0 -mp1 .

You are basically looking to increase damage and kill faster as "sword and board" isnt really needed for low level paragon farming.

Good luck and have fun out there :)

Haha, thanks. Yeah, I've been having fun even with the old build, Inferno is SO much easier now. But I can see how I am going a little slow, considering how easy it is.

Could I get a couple links to popular/standard/generic builds? Not wanting to carbon copy, but to get an idea of the current meta.

    Hey guys,

Just coming back from a few months off of playing Diablo, so I was wondering what the general trends/current good builds and skills are. Here is my current armory:

So far I've been going through Act 3, MP0 no problem with this setup, just wondering what I should be looking for in equipment, weapons, etc. I only have like 500k gold right now, not much to work with, but I would like to know what I should be gearing towards.

    Thanks!

hmm, interesting. I will try this out. It seems like the main artistic challenge of this build is making sure you generate fury fast enough to keep up WOTB

posted a message on DPS barb viable?
If you want stats, for A2, you would want 550+ resists, 6k+ armor (unbuffed), ~40k hp, and then a LOT of dps. That's a sweet weapon you have, and if you have your DH able to farm the gear, you could probably get to that point.

Honestly, not really. Not without ridiculously over-gearing everything. Ranged classes can focus dps because they are ranged and play style revolves around not getting hit. Barb would have to have the gear to both deal ridiculous damage AND living through at least a few hits.

posted a message on When D3 comes out with an expansion, are you going to buy it?
Absolutely. Not only will D3 itself be much better at that time, but Blizzard is totally prosauce at making sweet expansions.

posted a message on Is the only way to progress in inferno is through the AH ?
While the AH certainly will help (or make it really easy), I don't think it is ESSENTIAL for progression. I have spent less than 2 million gold on the AH, and I am making slow but steady progress through A2 on my Barb(!!). It has to do with making sure you are getting the Right gear, and also using skills that will actually help you progress in the context of the game/act.

I actually don't feel like this amount of money is all that unreasonable. Let's say he rushed to inferno on DH or Wizard, and had an intelligent/consistent farming strategy and has been able to get a slew of high quality items.
Let's break down 1 billion gold in D3 right now. That's selling 50 items for 20mil gold each. I would say that that is not incredibly unreasonable for someone who has been farming inferno 3-4 early. Considering I am sure he has done WAY more than 50 auctions, although most of them probably for less than 20 million, idk why people are freaking out about 1.4 billion. It's just consistent dedication.
If you actually look at the number from where D3 stands now, I think it is impressive, but reasonable.
Or, a more likely scenario is he is botting and/or gathered up all the gold him and his friends had onto 1 account, took the video, then transferred it back.

That's fine, it is certainly possible it is that as well. My point just was that people instantly griefing about bots/majorhaxorz are not necessarily right either.

yeah, you have a pretty decent setup, so unless you go sink a TON of money in the ah, its probably gona be just incremental improvements. and i'm actually not sure where the good farming spots are in A2. i like to just run around and try to kill everything >.<

sigh @ people saying "reroll DH"

Anyways, have you tried A3 yet? You are a little low on armor and health. Also, what are your passives? Basically, if you are getting insta-gibbed, get more defensive - health, armor, block chance. If you are kinda surviving, but just need more sustain, then that's where the life on hit comes in really handy. How much leeway you have and exactly what you need does still depend a bit on how you play, and who you are playing with.

Any chance there is a wallpaper of the in-game Caldeum? I'm talking about where you select character, AH, etc. But I want it without any of that stuff...
