Absolutely. Vanilla Inferno was bad enough, can you imagine trying MP10 without the AH? I mean, I'm all for having longterm goals, but that would be insane.

Nah, not insane. Under the current ruleset I'd guess it'd only take you about a 12-14 months or 1,000 hours of gametime to clear all of the content, Ubers included.

So, let say I had a hard time facing Act 3 1.04, which would be the best MP/act combination for me as a non-AH user?, I just tried act 1 MP3 and is not even close to fun, I took me 2.5 mins to kill 3 elite zombies.

If you had a hard time with Act 3 in 1.04, I'd start off with MP1. If that's still too much, I'd turn off monster power and try to beat Inferno at MP0.

Just as a point of reference, I play "no AH", and I just beat inferno last week. I could easily farm Acts 1 and 2 in 1.04, and spent most of time in Act 3 (which wasn't easy-farm, but it also wasn't a constant corpse pull). I found MP3 to be way too slow going for my monk, so I dropped down to MP2. That seems just about right. The new monster health and moster damage ratios take a little getting used to, but I suspect MP2 will be my sweet spot until I get a few upgrades and try MP3 again.

I've been playing self found since day one (overg-1771 if you're interested in checking out my monk). I started out on MP3 Act 1 last night. It was doable, but the time & death / elite ratio wasn't particularly fun, so I dropped down to MP2.

It will be interesting to see how the increased magic find from monster power affects my gear progression. In 1.04 I hit the point where I was very rarely seeing major upgrades, with character improvements coming from very small upgrades/sidegrades and just mix and matching various pieces of gear I've saved in my stash to see what works best. I didn't find any upgrades in about 3 hours of play last night, but it did seem like I found a few more "almost an upgrade" pieces than I typically would in 1.04.

I'm loving the fact that it's now viable to farm all Acts. Even at my gear level Acts I and II were too easy to be interesting in 1.04, so the fact that those are now viable areas for me (not to mention Act IV, which I could beat but not at any reasonable speed) is great.

My hope/goal is to do a complete MP2 runthrough, and hopefully find an upgrade or two which will allow me to progress through MP3 at a more tolerable rate.

Sorry, but what exactly gives you trouble with 30k dps, 46.6k hp, 1.500 life on hit and 550 resist all? Doesn't sound like a gear problem to me, honestly.

I concur. What's giving you problems? Are you stuck on a particular boss? Because your gear certainly looks more than adequate to not only get through Act II, but to farm it pretty easily. It might just be that you need to tweak your playstyle a bit, but without knowing exactly what the roadblock is it's hard to tell.

Have you tried using exploding palm in lieu of wave of light? Here's what I'm currently running . . .

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#UVdgTk!XYb!Yabaaa

I'm playing completely self-found/untwinked (http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/overg-1771/hero/850632) and this build just completely wrecks elites in Acts 1 and 2. It's also done a good job of getting me down to Ghom (who I've yet to make a serious attempt at) in Act 3. I typically tag one or two elites with Exploding Palm (which gives a 12% damage buff through Flesh is Weak ruin), and then pop SSS. If I've got a full spirit globe I'll also stack on overawe. Even if the SSS doesn't kill and elite, all but the toughest mobs can be pounded down with WoHF by the time the Flesh is Weak buff expires. And once exploding palm pops you usually have an instagib of the entire elite pack.

I've played around with both Sudden Assault and Fulminating Onslaught for SSS, and Sudden Assault seems a little more effective. I was predisposed to choose this ruin though, so that might just be confirmation bias.
