As the topic says, I finally got my Collector's Edition today. Got off work at 11am, went to GameStop and picked it up. Played from about noon till about 11:30pm (with breaks of course). About half way through Act III on Normal and all I can say is that:
I will use it when I get the full game. Since I do not like the Auction House.
And that's the sad part, you have to purposefully gimp yourself for the BS to be useful. As many people said above, for a fraction of the gold you spend on BS you can get much better items at the AH.
Ironically, I imagine the AH will be pretty dead comes the RMAH. You'll most likely need to use the blacksmith then. It's just a theory, but hey, I might be right.

It's the more than likely going to happen. Everyone and their mother is going to want to make money from playing Diablo. Gold auction house might have some stuff on there still, but you'll probably see most of the higher end gear on the RMAH.
I decided not to do this. Didn't want to risk the chance of something happening. So I'm still waiting on my Collector's Edition... To be here Monday... Yes I'm regretting it seeing as people are getting their money back.

I would be very careful with this statement. Well rolled Rares, Runewords, and Crafted items were the "top of the pack" (in my experience at least). Not saying they were bad, just you could roll better if you were lucky enough.

If your time is so precious you should have did a bit of research into launch day problems that exist with every on-line game that's ever been launched.
Like I said... not my problem. Blizzard shouldn't have released it if it didn't work... simple. D3 is a product, like any other. Not for one second do I forgive the product not working due to issues that are integral to the product they are selling. Do you buy and car and expect it to not start for 24 hours? No, and D3 is no different.
They can't test millions of people logging into servers at one time and crashing them. The best they can do is fix it when the problems occur. It happens with all releases.
Sure the open beta gave them an idea, but not even the amount the probably bought the game did open beta.
Just an impossible thing to "fix" before the fact.
I had just woken up and got on FaceBook and was scrolling down my newsfeed and saw an update from Blizzard's account saying the release date. I double checked the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st. Then, I checked here to verify for sure and then moved on with my day.
I was excited about it, but then realized I preordered my CE at the GameStop on campus (I live 4 hours from my college). So, now I won't be able to play at midnight... Gonna have to wait for it to get to my house first...
I just think to myself, these people are presumably sending in bug reports/posting on forums about the game. It's like asking a 15 year old to analyze a CT scan.
Uhm... I don't think age has anything to do with one's ability of reading a CT scan.... Just saying.
