posted a message on What class did you think you'd like the least but is becoming your favourite?
Witch doctor is the one that's been a surprise hit for me. I loved the necro in D2, but for some reason I didn't care for the Witch Doctor until I actually played him. Strangely enough, it's not because of the pets, it's because of the Snares and DoTs.

posted a message on anyone else bored of the diablo 3 beta?
Thanks to patch 13, I'm far from bored... Not...even...close. :)

But I haven't done all 5 characters yet. Once I do that, I will probably stop playing as much as to avoid burnout. I want the game to come out more than ever now that I've played it. It's one of those double edge swords, I love the game but now that I can play some of it, the wait is harder.

So, to answer your question: No, they do not feel under powered. They do play differently than the other classes though. Much more tactical. If you enjoy that type of experience, you'll love the DH.

This is exactly what I was hoping for! I was sat watching some patch 13 footage on youtube earlier, getting annoyed because the guy was being extremely inefficient and lack or tactics...

    Wasn't me I hope! :QQ:
I try to treat the class as it should be played and not just rush into melee 'cause I won't take damage with easy mode.

If you want to have music, then the game soundtrack would probably be your best bet. Using a subtle soundtrack will also make the production seem more professional. The good news is you have a good sound and an energetic personality that should work well for you.

Unfortunately, on my videos I always feel like I don't sound energetic enough. :) So I'm a little envious.

posted a message on Benefits from playing co-op?
    Quote from Ferret

Blizzard has said that there are no tangible benefits for playing Co-op. That being said, the HP of monsters only increases by 75% for each additional player, so under the condition that you all actively participate in fights near each other, your kill-speed will increase at a rate of 12.5%, 16.6%, and 18.75% respectively for each additional player up to four in a game.

In it's truest sense, Co-op is a very group-oriented mode that is all about killing stuff together. It doesn't punish people who play by themselves by having more loot, but it only makes sense if you actually play together. Its a very good approach to a system that was flawed in D2 - instead of inflating the amount of drops overall, you get more loot if, and only if, you guys actually play as a group at a decent pace.

It makes the choice of playing by yourself or with others a choice of preference - do you want to play with others or not? Nothing more, nothing less. Exactly what Co-op is intended to be anyway.

That would make sense actually. That way you don't have to feel like you need to play in a group if you don't want to and it's really just a choice of how you personally want to play.

posted a message on my opinion of the new rune system...
Honestly I don't agree that it will cause 'cookie cutter' syndrome. Even at level 13 you can come up with some fairly diverse builds, especially when you consider passives that get added in as you level.

Also, runes were said to drop very frequently, so I don't see it as being something that will make you feel accomplished. Especially since the difference in a level 1 rune to level 7 is just increase in power or duration, there's no major changes in game play between them.

Items are still going to make the biggest impact on the game and be the focus for leveling and end game play. I don't think the removal of just one item type is going to change any of that.

IF it needs something, it's going to be minor. Honestly, compared to patch 12 they feel much much better. I think it might just feel 'weaker' because the DH doesn't have any major AoE abilities like the other ranged characters do.

It could really just come down to gear, a good offhand really makes the difference that the quiver buff covers that nicely. The only problem there is, if gear is the problem, then the DH scaling at end game might be off. It is pretty hard to say at this point, I don't think it's that bad. When I played the DH again I was happy with it, but I can see where the perception is since my WD is just tearing through groups.

I'm not really sure. I only started doing coop recently and my level was actually lower than I thought it would be by the time we got to the skeleton king. It was only 2 of us, but I didn't see any other benefits. The king even dropped 1 less item than usual. o.O

QUICK EDIT: The addition of +damage on quivers really helps the DH right now, this was a major issue with gearing up a DH in the last patch.

I will say that demon hunters feel much better than they did in Patch 12. I have only just started on my 2nd class as it takes me awhile to get videos done, but my Witch Doctor already feels pretty strong in comparison. I really liked Hungering Arrow with the first rune, but DH still doesn't have the group killing power my WD has right now.

I got a friend of mine into beta and he seems to agree that Demon Hunter is his least favorite so far. I think it might need some tweaks.

While some have said we can't judge based on just this starting part, you still have to take into consideration how the class feels leveling up. If a class feels too weak leveling up, people will tend to not want to play through to the end with it.

If you're interested in seeing how the DH feels in Patch 13, my first playthrough on my YouTube channel is dedicated to DH. Just click the link in my signature and you'll see the playlist listed.

posted a message on Elective Mode Tutorial and Feedback
    Quote from Reddaye

Nice video Kage. I actually thought Elective was bugged since I couldn't choose to map to my 3 and 4 keys...they stayed locked.. Still not liking this change, or really seeing the point in them making it. Like you said; the UI is a total mess and needs an improvement.

I'd like to see them actually let us map to what keys we want in Elective, instead of locking us out of them early on. The old skill system and UI was actually very good IMO.

Yeah the old system was really polished, but it was a system they had worked on for a long time. This one being new is going to require some TLC to get it to the same level. The problem with the old system is that it was based on runes being a drop, so they had to change everything. If they could figure out a way to make rune selection a bit easier and not have us shuffling through various pages, I'll be much better.

I'm hoping the Elective mode UI will be improved. The way I see it, this is a rough draft and it's going to be updated with the feedback Blizz is getting.

It might be a bit late by now, but I wanted to put together a quick video on how Elective Mode works in the Patch 13 Beta for Beta players and those just curious how it works. I also provide my feedback on the system and how it could be improved, as well as my thoughts on the rune system.
