I had a problem with my Profile System Checker for beta opt in. It wouldnt work on my new laptop. I tried EVERYTHING. I eventually tried on my old computer just to see if it was my router/internet connection. It worked fine. So I kept working and working on my laptop trying to get it to submit. No dice. I finally put a support ticket in. They gave me a series of steps to try, none worked. They then asked me to submit DXDIAG.TXT and MSINFO.TXT for review. I did that. This is there response:

The only thing I see that Might be giving you issues is AVG, you might try uninstalling it then try again. Just know that the stats of your computer are not THAT important to getting into the beta. It is basically kind of a lottery, pretty random so I wouldn't stress about it to much. You are opted in for beta testing and that is the most important thing

I notice the few buzz words of "not that important" and "kind of" but I really dont believe you will get ruled in or out based solely on your system.

Very interesting. I like your notes: "kind of" and "not THAT important." Heh.

Whether or not anyone feels like it is a waste of time does not affect the goal of the topic... It is not you that has to analyze the information and spend time on it. I'm between jobs and have some spare time, so I wouldn't mind practicing my skills in the mean time.

There is no way any information gathered from this could be of HARM.

As an update: I have around 13 data sets, but 0 with BETA=TRUE :/

It is true that NO ONE has gotten an invitation unless it was F&F?

I have also heard of people being invited to F&F but not having the beta added to their account. I should re-include F&Fs into the data because of this. This means that they should get an invite, but they didn't because of their system/account specs.

Please post if you are in the F&F as well.

As I said on the bnet forums--there is a non-random component, and this will find out what that is.

The point of significance testing is to test every possibility. More information never hurts. While too little information...

I'll tally the data and test for significance of each variable & variable combinations. Then I'll do some probabilities to figure out the optimal game/system profile to get an invite. I'll wait for at least 50 posts with at least 10 beta testers.

For some people this may be useful--Maybe they should submit their old comp specs to Blizzard. Maybe they should turn off their overclock...maybe they should overclock further...Maybe they should dig up their old Diablo II CD-Key that they own...Maybe they should start posting more...Maybe they should re-sub to WoW?!
