Just for the record, I'm all for this discussion as long as it doesn't become a flame/troll fest. Bear that in mind, and keep an open mind to new ideas. Attack these ideas, not the people defending them That goes for both sides of the discussion.
I haven't watched the videos yet, but I have a strong bias against these sort of "elitist" players and tend to heavily agree with Bagstone. Neither of them invented the wheel, they both got solid ideas from forums (strong affixes like LoH, builds, paths, etc.) and made a name out of it.
People seem to think these are awesome guys and that they have insane game knowledge when they usually just have tons of free dedicated time (so they're obviously going to be top-end and insanely powerful players) and some more free time to check forums/youtube/streams for good ideas while they're at it.
Also, I can't bear to see these people behaving like they're the most important players of the fanbase (hint: they aren't) and the rest is crap, and all changes should be made to fit their own playstyle. All they want is "moar end-game, moar challenges. moar difficult things that nobody can do without putting 5k hours into it so I can prove that I'm oh-so-good".
Kripparian in particular seems to be quite bad at anything that's even remotely competitive that doesn't involve putting in 5k hours for the guaranteed advantage. I've checked him stream a couple times while PvPing on PoE, and even on a game that's he's supposedly so good, he seems to get stomped around by other people "using OP stuff". If he wants so desperately to prove he's so good and hardcore at games, why not play something like DotA 2, LoL or SC2, where your opponents actually have brains, instead of being just random codes.
People like Kripparian, Athene and Force wanted an "end-game grind" so badly in order to "have a reason to play", and then proceeded to never enjoy it. They want "customization systems" so badly but don't try multiple characters or inventing new builds. IIRC Force went as far as saying "I don't enjoy the game anymore because I used the RMAH", I can't even begin to understand that. I honestly find that sort of attitude weird and quite ignorant.
As far as the PoE vs D3 debate goes: I see D3 as a heavy-action focused game with pretty decent combat (good positioning, proper management of cooldowns, very fluid) and "weaker", simplified (debatable, though) RPG elements; and PoE as a more heavy-RPG (elements) focused game, with a lot less focus on "combat management".
As soon as people who dislike D3 for those design-choices realize that they're just that, design choices that don't fit their personal playstyle (aka a very complex RPG system with very traditional RPG elements), the sooner they're going to be at peace with themselves. Same goes for those who dislike PoE. People need to learn what diversity and preference really mean - as there's no such thing as "better" in such a world.

Bagstone posted a message on What should I Farm???You will get many biased answers. For some opinions about this look at this thread:Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
http://www.diablofans.com/topic/78799-why-farm-higher-mps/
I'm gonna try to carefully summarize it: lower MPs give you more XP/loot, higher MPs are better for farming keys/ubers. In the end, play the level you enjoy the most, because if you don't like what you do, your motivation will decrease and thus also your performance, leading to "worse results". Therefore, "what is better" is simply "whatever you like the most". -

Hunger posted a message on 1.0.5 DH LEGENDARIES / XP FARM STRATEGYNEW*: Updated with the Vengance instead of SSPosted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands
After some research and testing, i found the best setup to farm both xp and items.
The following Skill choice, route and description is the one im using and enjoying the most.
First of all lets get some things clear. You need to understand the concept of XP per minute and Items per minute. It involves how much xp and items you can get per minute (doh').
People fail to understand this, thinking the higher the mp the better loot they will get.
YES higher MP > higher CHANCE of getting EXTRA items. But higher mp also means higher dmg intake and health pool on mobs.
Whats the point of doing mp 7 runs that can take you 1-2 hours, when you can make mp2 runs in 20 mins??
Quick mp 1-2 runs will grant you MORE items PER MINUTE than a slow and painfull mp5+.
Same goes for xp. MP 1-2 grants more XP/MINUTE than higher mps..
So this is my guide to do that. MP 1-2 in 20 mins or less
Basics:
Farming act 3. Why act 3 and not act 1? cuz act 3 has quick waypoints right next to large groups of mobs.
None actionless runing, meaning if you hit dead end on keep 2 you dont run back 3 minutes without killing anything, you TP and hit the next map on this route
If you happen to die at the end of a map, dont run through the same path you did before. IT will not have any mobs cuz you killed em before. Keep going through a new path discovering new parts of the map full of mobs.
Ignore / run through single annoying mobs. Remember we are aiming for large groups. IGNORE the lonely roamers arround the map.
Gear: Nothing too specific. I dont have any natalyas set ( wich would increase the ammount of vaults we could do ). What you MUST have is 24% move speed from your gear. Speed is key here, and you need that speed. Also high attack speed is better for elemental arrow so you can dump your hatred faster.
That being said. This guide doenst need any specific gear besides the move speed.
Skill Setup:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aidlgV!ZbX!cabZYc
This setup is the one i find the best one for this route / mode. We want speed and quick clearing of large groups. The only hatred spender that can clear large groups is EA: ball lightning. Cluster bombs is good for elites, but we dont care for elites doing this route. We aim for large packs of white mobs. Thats our source of both XP and legendaries. And the best way to clear those packs is using ball lightning.
Tactical advantage is a must. We want to move as fast as posible when we are not clearing mobs.
Hungering arrow is amazing to clear elites. I find my hungering arrows doing more damage than my elemental arrows. So for elites mainly use this
Rain of vengance: its amazing elite and big packs clearer. Just stand near the packs or elites with gloom up, Pop this beauty and enjoy the extra dps.
Gloom is our life savior. Still good against reflect damage affix, and mitigates some damage under heavy situations.
Preparation: i use back up plan cuz i find myself spending most of the discipline vaulting through the map. Remember its all about fast runs.. So thats how you should be spending your discipline, vaulting for tactical advantage to proc and make your way to the next pack faster.
Passives: SS + vengance has an amazing synergy for this run. Basicaly you spend your discipline vaulting to the next pack. When you aproach a big pack, ball lightning crits will fill your disc pool right away and health globes will complete this process so you can have your discipline filled to spend it vaulting to the next pack
MP level: Since my gear grants me a lot of dps. I find myself equaly confort doing MP1 o 2 at the same speed. So if you can afford doing MP 2 you should. The extra MF will help a lot.
The route: Taken from the Alkaizers run for barbarians, with a little tweak
1st : start the game at the last quest of act 3. Killing Azmodan. Head to the last waypoint. Clear the path to Azmodan but dont get inside. You will get the checkpoint right before entering his chamber. Quit the game.
Now every time you create a game, you will start at that checkpoint, right before Azmodan.
From there clear the path (core of the arreat) all the way back to the waypoint.
Grab the waypoint and head to Tower of the damned 1. Make a full circle path clearing all the elites ( Both core of the arreat and Tower of the damned 1 gives you a quick 5 stack NV).
After you clear Tower of the damned, grab the waypoint to Arreat Crater 2. Clear the map. IF you find yourself at a dead end TP back and head to the next map. Remember we dont care about full clear. Just quick large group clearing.
After Arreat crater 2, take the waypoint to Bridge of korsikk. Make a circle arround the map clearing large packs. Dont clear any caves, ignore lonely mobs wandering arround the map. Focus on large packs
After Bridge, head to The keep depths lvl 1 and take the stairs into The keeps depths lvl 2. This is where the magic happens. Keeps lvl 2 has SO many mobs its a gold mine both for xp and legendaries. Try to clear as fast as possible. Most mobs are just skeletons with no hp at all.
If you hit a dead end you can tp back, and restart keeps 2 into an undiscovered part of the map.
Same thing if you die. Dont run back just to kill that last elite mob that killed you. You will waste 3 minuts running without killing anything.
- This is where Alkaizers run ends, You can either quit the game and restart the route, or you can do Arreat crater 1 and keeps 1 for some extra mobs. -
Video of Alkaizer route in case you dont understand it.
Remember we aim for LARGE PACKS OF WHITE MOBS. Thats your main source of legendaries and xp.
VAULT > KILL > VAULT > TP
I hope this helps some lost Dhs out there. Im not claiming this is the best route / method, but its the one working amazingly for me.
Cheers -

I answered this about flipping partly in this post
But yes, I will elaborate. People think that paying "real money" in a video game is a huge leap from paying in gold or from grinding for an item. What people don't realize is that currencies are only a numerical representation of value. As soon as there is a collective demand for goods, both virtual and "real," value is created. Humans developed currencies to represent this value in a tangible way, and to make the exchange of these goods more liquid.
When there is collective demand from real people for an item within a game market, the same value is created as anything else in the world, and you can put a number on it. That number can be different depending on the currency you are using to represent the value. You need a lot more Yen than Euros to represent the same value. The same goes for gold.
Gold is like a foreign currency. It represents value, but only within the specific game world. You can't use gold to buy things in stores in the US, just like you can't use Yen to buy things in those stores. If, however, you can convert that currency to a usable one, it has an "exchange rate." Gold has an exchange rate exactly like a foreign currency has. (Except gold is more easily exchanged than 90% of the currencies in the world) This is why botting should not only be against the rules, it should be illegal. (Korea kinda gets it)
So items are just exchanged at the value that demand sets. Regardless of whether it is in gold or real money. Or even in bartering. People demand, the market supplies.
It will get long, but bear with me.
The concept of "pay to win."
You always pay to win. I just explained how gold and USD are very much the same within a game economy, but there is something even less tangible that is also the same: time. Time is the most valuable currency there is. There is an exchange rate for time to money, but there is no exchange rate back.
Gamers who play within economies create the value of the currency (gold) when they take time to accumulate that currency, and the rarity of an item contributes to the item's value equal to the amount of time a person would have to play to statistically obtain it. This is very similar to any currency and wage labor. (I would love to hear Marx's thoughts on Diablo gold) This is time being converted into a currency. (THIS IS REALLY WHY BOTTING SHOULD BE ILLEGAL Through dilution, bots destroy real value that gamers create by playing.)
You always pay to win because you either pay in time or in a currency. Some people are rich in time, and some people are rich in currency. And anyone who spends more time will also have the skills to back it up. Plus, why not let people with a lot of money give your game time real-world value?
The only problem with Diablo in this regard IMO is that gear is possibly too much of a factor in terms of your heroes ability. Not that it shouldn't be significant, but it should be balanced with skill. This is a difficult balance for a dev team.
With this balance, paying money for the gear is the equivalent of purchasing nice golf clubs, or high tech running/climbing/basketball shoes. It's purchasing gear that gives you an edge on the competition in the game that you play. A thousand dollars for a good set of golf clubs gives you the ability to play the game of golf better than someone of equal skill playing with a $10 garage sale set. It doesn't automatically make you good, but it helps you get there. And if you love that game, then by all means play your best.
Thanks for letting me elaborate. -

Much rather watch a gamer who happens to be a girl then one who gloats about their sex to gain an advantage... Regardless of your situation, it's disgusting that you stoop to such a degree to gain something. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

A while ago I made a video about Farming Goblin Realm, AKA Treasure Realm, AKA The Vault.
So today as the 2.1 is coming closer and with seasons we are all gonna need some more gold I thought it might be a good idea to revisit The Vault and try to maximize the gold find( ended up at close to 15k gold find). I took all gold gold find gear I could think of and head out to farming goblins. I thought I would get much more than I did but nevertheless 270M gold from one single realm is really Amazing. Anyway here is the video.
I would like to know if there is some piece of gear that I missed and could have further upgraded the Gold Find.
And what do you think is this gonna get nerfed, cause it is crazy. Even if you are unlucky and get the realm in 2h it is still worth it. I got it after 20 mins it was fun

I've wanted to create a build for WD that is created around summons only. So no other DMG spells.
Summons and follower do all the DMG. I was interested in how viable it is, and can it be viable in any other MP than 0.
As it turns out it is!
I was able to play relatively comfortable up until MP3. MP4 was doable, MP5 not so much. Difficulcy spike is enormous.
So here is a build for it: http://eu.battle.net...YTiP!agc!ZYcaZY
NOTE: This build is not intended for fast paragon/legendary farming!
This is for fun
Here are the videos for it, with testing, build, gear I had.
MP0 + build:
MP1-4:
MP5
What I want to see from you is:
1) More videos with this build in Higher MP's
2) Build suggestions, with test preferable :), but mind the rules. Bears and sacrifice cannot be used.
EDIT: Although video 3 says it is part1, it is only a thumbnail mistakenly uploaded. Actual video is Part3
1
Why not both?!
I sure did play both of them. And now I think of getting to POE again, but do not want to leave D3 also.

Don't know exactly but Siedge has around 650M HP. Kule arond 450M HP.
Anyway DiabloProgress is not the right place for you to check if someone has a better character. DPS is not the only stat that matters. Sometimes DPS does not matter at all. For example:
1)You have High DPS lets say 400K you are farming MP0. You are doing many overkills it does not matter if you had 900K or 200K your killing speed is about the same. Sure the elites die in few seconds faster one way or the other. But this is not important since your efficiency is not measured by those few seconds but with running speed.
2)Second example is you are farming MP10. Here your DPS makes a huge difference 100k is far worse than 400k. Since you are killing very slow. But the if the guy with 400k DPS has no ress all and no life steal or life hit. He cannot farm MP10, because he is dying constantly.
Bottom line is: It is not about the DPS!!!!! It is about the balance! High DPS with no defense and no LS,LOH works only if you kill white mobs in 1sec, and elites in under 5 or so. Anything else is pure suicide.

I've been "friends" with all sorts of people on D3, a few times it has happened that a player ask to join my run and when he/she sees I'm running MP2 just leaves the party with like "OMG noob you farming MP2, I do MP5, you suck".
Vote up to the OP! I find MP2 sweet spot for me, since I kill elites in under 10s. Usually MP3 when with a friend, since we usually switch killing white monsters, one kills them and another is running past then, we can both one hit most of the whites.

Isn't there an option for lock request on this.

Conclusion: We have no Idea! Will have to wait and see!

Your PC is worth how much? You don't need money to eat!

Before you all start flaming at me for this I will state the reasons for this:
I remember playing D2 last year for the last time. I was running Elemental Druid. So i got to like lvl 93 and had almost all gear on me. I had no problem farming every part of the game, also doing Pandemonium and Uber. But I was determined to get all the perfect items I can. This proved to be a mission impossible using only the D2 trading system. I refused to purchase item from 3rd party sites or using d2jsp. For hours i waited for people to come to me and get me the items I requested. But with almost no success, the ones that came had almost very good items but not the best. I finally gave up on that realizing that I will never manage to get them all in that manner. This is why the auction house is better! I do not have to wait in the game, I just check if the item exists and if I have the curency i purchase it. In d2 I had a whole character filled with only the currency but i could not find the items.
