also since u click to move in diablo 3 mousecloning may work and u can bash keys with keyclone sounds very doable.

the problem in wow and movement without the interact with target / click to move capability..wow renders map slightly off for each toon it seems so where they move is not always the same exact spot. diablo 3 may be different since its more so hack n slash n not so all mmorpg'yy
if u cant mouseclone movement efficiently, melee may be ruled out. so monk would be =(
however, it may still be doable with ranged dps! like with wizard so..there are potential options for both melee and range if it can be done

or 4 demonhunters..since they are all ranged hunter/rogueish
or the witchdoc. which would probably be the most doable as it sounds very much like shaman

as a wow multiboxer..i know from experience that 5 ranged dpsers works really well. the only reason the 4dk and hpally ..and 5 ret pally b4 the pally nerf works so well is because of interact with target and click to move.

well im gonna try and pull it off its just a matter of how. i have a keyclone license which is not as good as other boxer software i personally dont even use my keyclone anymore i use isboxer subscription. thought about trying pwnboxer but isboxer rocks. If anyone can pull it off, it will most likely be Lax the ISBOXER developer. problem is pwnboxer and isboxer wouldn't have insta development when it drops. unless they get in the beta. haaha and as a multiboxer..u have plenty of chances of getting beta keys..heh. can at least try with two. lol.
until then i think keyclone might be a good alternative because it already supports cloning capability for mouse and keyboard without having to develop any code to make it work with diablo 3
the problem with autolooting unless blizzard implements it on their own like in wow..it will be a pain in the butt to loot.
they had follow mod and a loot mod in Diablo2 forget the names of them but basically if u ran those apps u got banned from D2 on that account at least so i heard. i didnt play d2 as much as i should have sad to admit. my gf and i were into ragnarok online at the time.
I imagine if they implement addon / mods integration for diablo3 like they did with wow. a mod such as that may be considered legit and wont be a ban offense.

but since keyclone and similar apps are not modifying the game they are legit / not cheating and blizzard will be k00l with it as long as ur not modifying the game /haxing
i imagine u can have more than one diablo 3 per b.net account. u can for wow and sc2 so i don't see why diablo would be any different. if not, u can just register multiple b.net IDs. isboxer (one of the multibox apps) allows u to preconfigure and autologin multiple accounts very easily. as it caches the login names. if u make the passwds the same its easy enough to just clone key the passwds and type em in all at once.
i guess the question remains is will it be possible and will it be worth doing? That is the million dollar multibox question. maybe too early to tell until the beta i suppose.
a lot of people don't see the point in multiboxing so i won't argue that, but as a multiboxer, i will say it makes games so much more fun. at least in wow anyway. the multibox community is rather small as it takes exhaustive efforts and hardware to get it going but once u go multibox u never go back.
the key factor in wow is being able to follow the other characters. another factor in wow anyway is interact with target and click to follow that i mentioned earlier which enables the ability to multibox melee, before that was implemented, it was only possible to multibox ranged dps. i won't go too much into the wow side as this is a diablo 3 forum thread =P and I am thinking about starting a d3 thread on some of the multiboxer sites such as dual-boxing.com or multiboxing.com since they are more geared towards doing this.
however, i do appreciate all feedback thus far, and any more to come down the road
I just don't see the point of multiboxing in D3.. Even if you manage to multibox 4 characters in one game, and set three of them to follow the main, the main wont possibly be able to kill the creeps alone because the creeps scale with how many characters are in the game, (i.ex. 4 times stronger).
well if follow is implemented, you can use multiboxer software such as isboxer to clone key strokes and mouse movement to all 4 windows thats the beauty of multiboxing. u are controlling all 4 clients and button smashing to all 4 thus killing monsters with all 4 at same time. in Diablo 3 multiboxing melee will be hard without a wow equivalent of "Interact with Target and Click to Move" so even if there is a follow, it may be limited to ranged dps classes such as the wizard.
for example in wow with 5 shamans, when i hit chain lightning, all 5 shamans cast chainlightning. and with assist my single target abilities all focus 5 lightning bolts on one monster/player.
i guess i'll have to wait and see if it will be possible or not but i thought i'd find out beforehand.

I've heard of people multiboxing diablo2, but since this is a different beast - and no one has started a thread on it. I figured I will jump the gun.
Any other multiboxers out there have any insight? I'm coming from multiboxing wow. 5 shaman, 4dk 1 hpally, 5 feral druid. 2k+ rated so I know a thing or two. However, I just don't see it being justifiable without having the /follow integrated.
