posted a message on Force quit Diablo 3
Meh 350+ hours between a barb and a demon hunter, and I still plan to play both of them as well as leveling at least the other 3 characters to 60. Still enjoying the game quite a bit, and I don't use the RMAH at all. It's fun to just run around and kill things, whether it be stuff I can handle easily (act2 inferno on my barb) or trying to do harder stuff like act 3 in groups with some of my friends.

Still having fun, still earning new and better gear. If you're bored with it then that's cool and I can respect that, but I see no reason to force your opinion on other people and then insult them when they don't agree, saying nonsense such as 'I'm lying to myself because I enjoy it'. That doesn't even make sense.

posted a message on Dumbed down in the name of ease of use
    Quote from Tinkertank

Sorry stopped reading your post at the emboldened text. I don't want anything to be implied or assumed in what I would call an advanced tooltip ^^

Edit: Now I finished reading it.
"The casting speed modifier is given by your attack speed" Incorrect, different abilities have different BASE casting speed modifiers, for example Splinters compared to Poison Dart.

"In terms of move speed, meh, you could learn a lot more about that using it once, but I have no direct problem with it." Which is EASY in D3... not so much in D2 where you might have to lvl a char for hours just to test 1 skill ^^

"Sometimes being overly precise can lead to more confusion." Not if the tooltip is factual and correct. And read by the persons it was designed for ^^

"I'll use you're '205% damage once' as an example. This would mean that some skills might do damage more than once, or fractions of total damage." Correct, they MIGHT. If a mob teleports, after being hit once by your Dire Bats spell, away from you ending up being in the path of my Dire Bat, will it be hit again or not?

"Also semi straight line is far more confusing than just having it implied that it moves in a straight line." Ahhh good young padawan, now you are thinking with Portals ^^! This is an example of my own limit where I do not need more explanation, though where some might. Is the semi straight line chosen picked from a fixed number of possible paths, is there an algorithm which is used to calculate each path per cast, is there an order to it's paths based on stats or randomness? We wouldn't know with my suggested tooltip. But then again I'm drunk and wrote something down in a matter of seconds, I didn't have months to think about it ^^? See what I mean ^^?

Good I like having conversation with individuals who clearly spell out their opinions in a logical and non-aggressive way, I like your style.

Also I too am enjoying a few cold beverages, good stuff!

You argue about weapon speed and how if affects abilities, you say the base is different for different skills. Can you please elaborate? My understanding was that skills attack a rate that is a function of your weapon speed. While it may not be directly, it is a linear function of your weapon speed. So let's say you attack at 1.5s, poison darts may cast every 1second (66% attack speed) but if you were using a 2s attack speed weapon, then you'd be casting at 1.33s. Is this incorrect, and how does this work then for two different abilities that say have a different "base" speed?

I don't disagree that if the information is correct and factual then it's all good. But I just think it's unnecessary for every skill to say 'applied damage once' if you just allow it to be true that all skills will apply damage once, makes each individual tooltip shorter and cleaner.

I would argue in the case of the teleporting mob, either tooltip is rather vague. Does it do damage 'once to each enemy' it passes through, each time it passes through them, or only once?

Edit: Fully read what you wrote, you and I seem to have more in common that I orginially thought! Both enjoying some cold beverages, both like to check options before playing. And correct me if I'm wrong but I get the feeling we both have post high school degrees in something related to math. (I'm guessing econ or accounting..) And an unhealthy addiction to editing posts!

    Also... JR 6.0, you?

    Quote from Tralari

If it was mutual why are you upset? :S

Just because it's a mutual break up doesn't mean it isn't still hard on someone emotionally. Even if you both logically come to the conclusion it isn't working, you are still losing something at an emotional level, and that still hurts.

Time will heal all, if there is one piece of advice is that at some point down the road you may want to get back together with her, if you miss her or whatever, my advice is to not do that, remember that there was a reason you decided not to be together.

posted a message on Rmah - How will you act?
Not really sure I'd pick any of those options. I pretty much will not be using it, and will tend to use the GAH more, but I'm hoping to sell just enough stuff on the RMAH to be able to buy the starcraft expansion when it comes out. =D

posted a message on beta invites
Strong first post. Way to lead with your best foot forward.

As a side note expect more invites soon, last week averaged about 1500 people in public games, down to 750 people this week. I'd imagine after the next patch.

posted a message on Rune sistem of Diablo 3 overloading the sistem. Rumor or fact?
    Quote from FreddyBenson

i posted this podcast in a diff thread yesterday, but at thispoint i dont care

even game magazines dont care anymore, my cousin works for a game magazine in the states, she says that nearly all of the gaming mags and online game mags views D3 becoming a joke

her mag has already made its mind up on D3, when it is finally released she told me that her mag will not give it favourable review cos of the sheer delay on it, infact there will be a article on about taking advantage of coustomers next month

    so ye dont care

So you're friend is already making an incredibly biased review of a game that isn't out, because she feels screwed over by a company that isn't releasing a game because it hasn't met their standards? Sounds like something I definitely won't be reading. Blizzard doesn't owe your friend, or any of us, anything. THEY are losing a LOT of money by not releasing this game, they are 'punishing' theirselves. Why? because they want to release an amazing game, that's their priority. That's all they care about, not your friend or her biased, totally unfair article.

The people at her mag have already made up their mind.. that's childish and incredibly unprofessional. Sure they can note that it took a long time to release, but to judge the other games characteristics based on something (the extra time) that was used to refine those very characteristic doesn't even make sense. Having the played the beta, the game is amazing, and I for one will love it, and will likely play it for years. Do I care that it's delayed? Yes. Why? Because I *want* to play an amazing game. Will I be a patient and rational adult about it? Yes, when it comes out it'll be well worth it. And if it isn't, it will be because it isn't a good game (an almost laughable notion, having played the beta.. many times), not because they took forever to release it.

Edit: Lol just read post below mine, if I got trolled than I guess it deserves a 7/10 or so... I think he was being serious though. In which case his friend is a liar, because ya any reputable game company would never give any game a purposely bad review just because of delays, it might earn a few sentences in the review, nothing more.

    posted a message on Achievements!
Who else is excited to see some of the achievements for D3 ! I realize that the the vast majority of the achievements won't be in the beta, but I'm still curious to see what some of the ones that are included are like.

Once the servers are up if those of you lucky enough to have access would you mind sharing some of that info here? =D

Dude, drop the whole online only thing QQ. thx.
Drop the sheep attitude. Don't expect a serious attitude. Its a big deal, and your only response is shut up QQ. You used QQ. I don't give a damn about you if you use QQ.

No really, trust me, you'll hear me again, and again, and again, and again.

Your quote is a bit excessive, the internet much more accessible than it used to be. And you could easily argue the opposite, that the people who modded, cracked and hacked games are the ones that ultimately made companies need to include things like DRM and Online-Only just to provide a fun and hack free environment. Personally games like D1 and D2, despite being awesome, were ultimately ruined in the long run because of 'the gaming community'.
