posted a message on [PvP] Blizzard neglecting a major part of what made Diablo, Diablo.
Us "PvPers" aren't expecting BALANCE, we want more FREEDOM that was taken away from us (FREEDOM that we had in D2, and no not everyone's experience of PvP consisted of random public games). Since they took away the FREEDOM and tried to control PvP, they need to add certain FEATURES and OPTIONS and CUSTOMIZATION to make it right again. We want to be able to make custom PvP matches, even if that consists of battling it out in "blood moor" instead of a damn arena. The ability to fight as parties vs parties.

Right now pvp is limited to some bullshit 2v2 kill until your run out of lives crap, with no way to directly face another party (your friends) since in battle.net 2.0 social aspects have been removed from the game.

No more iron mans (and other classic fun games)
No more joining a random pub game clearing it out and having fun.
No more guild/friend/clan/random battles of 4v4 in a GM style setting.
No more challenging specific people to duels.
No more killing bots in public games (they will come in time).

Some things that could definitely be added to be an IMPROVEMENT over D2. (Very wishful thinking).
Obviously PvP games that consist of 6-12 people, we don't care if it is too chaotic and you can't tell who everyone is, but let it be an option, let us figure it out, let us make the choice if it is "too chaotic."
Statistics - Stuff like kills - damage, burst damage - most kills in a row stuff would be neat. Public/Private, people who are good can obviously show off, people who are bad just mind their own business, no harm done.

Edit, and for everyone who thinks we are trying to turn the damn game into an "ESPORT" you are full of shit whiners, pretty much every game on the market - even runescape - has better PvP than what is currently incorporated into D3, and don't deflect by telling us to "PLAY A DIFFERENT GAME" for something so fundamentally simple that needs to be in the game.

    December, 2012 Headline:
"Blizzard fights angry PvPers by telling them to go play LoL."

we can't because of a small player base of "diehard pve'ers" that dislike PvP, and an incompetent design leader (Jay Wilson), who basically threw PvP in the trash.

what are you talking about small player base the majority of players prefer pvm to pvp

I would say a majority of D3's future players are not on/trolling forums, they are playing wow or sc2, or some other game that has a functional PvP system, and would expect that from D3.

posted a message on Is it an absolute to play D1 and D2 and then D3?
D1 is just too MEH imo... I started playing D2 when I was like 10, and off and on since then. I think D1 play through is optional, or you can just watch a youtube video of it and pretty much get the gist of it. D2 on the other hand, you NEED to do one play through of that ...atleast a normal play through at the minimum... and do all the lackluster quests and stuff.

I give it 6 months before PvP, 3 months after all content is cleared for even the noobs, people sitting around doing nothing, spamming chat channels talking about crap, Chinese farmers saturating the market and basically giving everyone god gear for pennies, and then when we are like "lets go PvP", we can't because of a small player base of "diehard pve'ers" that dislike PvP, and an incompetent design leader (Jay Wilson), who basically threw PvP in the trash.

posted a message on [Item Game] will it be enough?
And on top of that, without character resets the market/economy/game will quickly be saturated, and then we will wait XX months for new content that is supposed to come soon^tm.

All the PvP'ers will just sell their stuff until it finally comes out...

What exactly are the money sinks? We don't even have runes as one anymore... and I doubt they will charge us to change skills, and there are only 2 artisans, which are account bound and give no unique benefit. Gold will quickly become worthless.

This crafting system better be godly, because at this point we are relying on it.

Probably an unrealistic amount of work to do for 2 months. If you have played the beta you will see that there is much to be done, especially in the battle.net area.

posted a message on D3 Beta: In game skill position chaning?
Ahh thanks guys, elective mode... whos idiot idea was to make it disabled by defualt, and I don't have beta forums access so if somebody wants to post these bugs:
    1. By right/left clicking the [right click, left click, 1, 2] button at the skill selection you can somehow change your skill location. - This might be intented?
    2. You can disconnect by click your first skill slot, then tripple clicking the [right click, left click, 1, 2] button until your skills turn grey, then , then clicking accept (repeat this process twice) and you will be disconnected from the game.

Well.. I just on the beta for the first time in months, and now I am stuck. I want to switch my right skill with my #2 skill but I don't know how, is my UI missing "pages" or something?

By the way, if I click accept from that exact screen I get booted out of the game.. it has happened like 5 times while trying to figure this out in the past 10 minutes.

posted a message on Diablo III and it's age requirement
We'll according to the ESRB ratings Diablo 3 is rated M for mature (17+), but does that not include 17?
Being a 17 year old I noticed I was unable to enter the beta sweepstakes due to "not being of age".
I was wondering if that had to do with the contest or with not being old enough for the game.

Although I hope D3 comes out after April (when my 18th birthday is) because of school and my AP exams in May, if it happens to come out before then I wonder if I will have any trouble putting the game onto my blizzard account they day of release, and as well if people under 18 (specifically 17) have any chances of getting into the beta. Maybe somebody could bring this up on the official site (I have no active subscriptions).

    They should look like this:

    ...Comcast.

    Ew.

Its a monopoly in South Florida. I have no problems with them, just make sure you own your own router and modem. There aren't any faster providers in 200mi radius. You only option for faster is Comcast business class or a dedicated t1 line that you can't get in residential neighborhoods.

PS my last post was sarcasm.

Choose a test in California and post your results.
    http://speedtest.net/
    http://pingtest.net/
As long as you have decent bandwidth and your connection is stable you should be fine. One thing you cannot account for is uptime.. and how often your internet cuts off.

They should look like this: If not you won't be able to play D3.

posted a message on PvP in Diablo 3
    Quote from PantheraOnca

Sixen and Force, thanks for being there for this community. At the moment what blizzard has implemented for PvP is just crap. There is no way to put it in a constructive critical manner. Whatever you guys decide to do to make PvP a bigger and more awsome part of D3, i'm riding your train.

Lets write a petition! givf competetiveness to D3, otherwise PvP aint PvP. Ty DF.

the arena system is already a huge thing for pvp that no other diablo game has had. the have a matchmaking system which will pit you against players of equal skillXgear. You already have competitive pvp.

Blizzard could do nothing more and there would be more, competitive pvp features than in both of the previous diablo games combined. they even have an alternatve set of balance-able figures so that once pvp gets settled, they can make adjustments to it separately from pve abilities.

what more do you want? leagues? that can be community driven, like it was in d2 (and as mentioned above, it already has more support). I don't know if they've said one way or another, but as long as you can make a custom pvp match against another team, blizzard has already given the tools to the pvp community to do whatever they would like with pvp.

If all you want is custom match-making capability, then petition for that, and stop complaining about how "PVP MAED D@ LAST THIS LONG!!@#!!!" (i haven't read that from you, but its a common argument, that i think doesn't hold water)

d2 pvp was crap. it was an afterthought. d3 has pvp as an actually balancable medium. no pvp will be meaningful until max level anyway. including pvp features at launch will just delay the game.

    **incoming hyperbole**
I would rather kill any children or pets you may have than allow pvp features to delay the release of this game by 1 minute more than it already has.
    **/end hyperbole**

D2 PvP wasn't crap, you were just ill informed or out of the loop, because most PvP communities were private.

"the arena system is already a huge thing for pvp that no other diablo game has had. the have a matchmaking system which will pit you against players of equal skillXgear. You already have competitive pvp."

Arenas in D3 could be a great idea, but in there current state they are hurting us. They limited to 1 mode of style limited to their matchmaking system.
Last man standing and custom matchmaking are 2 significant things that are required for the sake of the PvP community.

Thank you, finally it looks like people are starting to want PvP more, there are too many following Jay, but Sixen, Force, and now you seem to be helping the PvP cause. PvP FTW

Realistically D3 needs to make a compromise, and give us some more PvP options (last man standing), and custom matchmaking (being able to pvp certain people or groups).
