Likely no one. I have a couple of friends who *may* come with me if there's a midnight release, though they probably will not be buying it, at least not on release night.
-What did you do until midnight?
Ensure that all the necessary preparations are made to keep me stationary at my uber-geek command center for at least 8 hours; meal-type food, dessert, snack-type food, beverages, etc.
-Did you stop off for snacks or anything or did you get to your computer in 15 seconds?
This was taken care of before I picked up the game, probably even the day before.
-What will you do while its installing?
Immediately after the install no longer requires my attention/input, I will be heading outside to light a fat one :Thumbs Up:. After I've burned that down with my buddy, I'll read the manual and possibly browse the art book, though another poster made a good point about leaving the art book until after playing a complete run through.
-Will you watch the intro movie or skip to game play?
Of course I'll watch it. Blizzard creates interactive stories. No chapter, prologue or epilogue should be missed. Plus, it'd be breaking with tradition if I didn't. I've seen every Diablo cinematic released to date, and they've always been exceptional. Plus I wanna know if it was that fell from the Heavens and became the fireball that hits Old Tristram Cathedral.
-Did you take time off work or are you pulling an all-nighter?
It all depends on when release day is. If it's released on a Friday night (yea right, I know) then no. 48 solid hours will be good enough. But if it's released during the week some time... I've got some vacation pay saved up. Won't take off more than 2 days though.
-Single player or Bnet first?
I assume the question is SP or Co-op first. Probably SP, cuz I don't think anyone I know will be playing that night. That could change though.
I have been expecting some kind of news along these lines, though I admit I was hoping/expecting a Beta announcement for July. I guess this isn't an announcement, but it's pretty damn close. I think this is the same thing that happened with Starcraft II; Beta press event first, public announcement shortly after... I have at least a couple questions.
1) What's the news on a Collectors Edition? Is there going to be one and is there any kind of in-game recognition of ownership (such as alternative Thor skin in SC2)?
2) Will there be an achievement system similar to Starcraft II?
3) Has some kind of player-to-player trade system been setup yet?
I could think of more, but I gotta stop thinking about the beta (hopefully) being less than 2 months away or I'll never sleep.
Have fun Sixen, you lucky (insert jealous expletive here)! Like virtually everyone else reading here, I hope I get into the Beta (sooner than later).
