"has no idea. How to feel about the RM AH," I can't believe they put that into the game. It makes me wonder what the drop rates will be since Blizz gets a "small" cut from each RM transaction being made.

Did you watch any of the video interviews with Jay Wilson?

That didn't take long for some one to throw that back at me... NOW, having read the statements mentioned in the previous posts, I'm still not sure what to think and I KNOW for a fact I'm not the only one who thinks that the RL money idea isn't a good one. I didn't get much of a chance to watch video since my current connection is so-so. I'm going to think twice about posting next time if this is the kind of response I'm going to get...

Now before the next person decides to respond to my post with a pointless, open ended, and VAGUE question. Yeah everyone's excited with making money in AH, there is a little thing us adults use in RL that has to deal with taxable income (a 1099) I might've missed a section on that. Do they have plans for on how this will work?

posted a message on The Auction House Explained
I'm kind of at loss for words about what to say regarding this. I see the real-money aspect of this taking it out of the hands of the third parties. However a real-money auction house doesn't seem like a good idea to me, because that's where all the best items will go. With all the hacks D2 had in the past I'm most certainly not attaching my bank account to this thing. It's bad enough to see a hacker empty my character, let alone my bank account. On top of that will this be another thing to push back our release date because Blizzard has to find a third-party site? How long will that take to work the bugs out so people will consider using this dumb system. "So long D3, see you next year!"

posted a message on How Soon is Soon™ Part IV
If they launch beta in August after press event and deem the game worthy of release, it could be as early as November. It's close to the end of the year and Blizzcon will be over. If they're announcing all the systems soon that has to mean the game is ready. Big clue if the game wasn't ready would be, "we are going to preview more systems." I could see a November release, if not another month or two won't kill us! if any tweaks and bug fixes need to be made, (and there will be) they can always fix post release. Plus who cares when another game is released, Skyrim is Bethesda, not Blizzard.

posted a message on The Future of Item Selling
I think vanity items only would be a good way to perpetuate this game's potential. Most of what is going into this game is coming from the house that WoW built. Lots of F2P games focus on things like that. We shouldn't be able to buy the best gear to boost stats, because it would flood the game with top-notch items, and we would be doing the SOJ dance again! Vanity is a good way to go so players will have more diverse appearances. Yes it's a step up from D2 in terms of char appearances, but it would be a good way to lure in more D3 fans that weren't hardcore to begin with. In turn Blizz will put more attention into this game if there is some kind of revenue stream, and we will possibly see the extended content much sooner then planned, and other benefits might follow.

    Quote from Lethal_Weapon

I believe all of them are improtant factors, but I am going to play them all anyway, so bring it on! =D

I'm so with you on that. My friends get mad at me for never being able to make up my mind and sticking with one class! I will most likely be like "omg this staff would be perfect for a monk!" or " dear lord, did you see the stats on that crossbow?" mwahahaha, can't wait!

Planning monk or Barb first. Then Wizard second. I remember reading about play throughs with the Barb and how quick they can go through without the need to upgrade their gear so often. I'll stack good gear onto my wizard if some good drops come along, making it an easier start for wizard since he'll have better stats in hp and others.

PS3 makes sense. Sony has been open to letting developers use their own internet platform before. (Portal 2 with Steam.) Microsoft on the other hand requires all developers to use Xbox Live for online play plus players have to pay a yearly fee to play online. My guess is a Diablo 3 for PS3 that includes both single and multiplayer and for Xbox with single player only. (Blizzard will not let another company (Microsoft) control their online system.)

They said PS3 I feel for three reasons. You mentioned my first reason with the free multi-player aspect, battle.net is free, and it's free to go online via PSN. Second is hardware, The PS3 hardware can handle this game. If people think the 360's hardware is a match, who cares, see reason one. Only Diablo 3 fans are going to purchase this game. Newcomers will purchase it on PS3 for it's RPGness and the free PvP multiplayer they will get with it. Third reason, after tsunami-earth-quake-nuclear disaster, and network hack, this is what Sony will need to get back in competition. They make a deal with Blizz to get the soon-to-be best action RPG on the market, and Blizz gets another chance to test the platform market again! Final Fantasy went across 3 platforms 10 years ago on a sucky online lable. I'm sure Blizz can do it with their eyes closed! Do it Blizzard, you'll get two copies from me and one for everyone of my friends who can't play this game on their computer!

i know what I would do with two copies of Diablo 3... Two chicks at the same time! Demon Hunter and Wizard classes!! (ref. Office Space for the kids :) )

PS I just hooked up my Mac mouse via Bluetooth! Hmmmm, I wonder if my Mac Bluetooth keyboard works too! :) (my reason for edit)

posted a message on The Follower Blues
Won't we be repeating quests on higher diffculties anyway? So why wouldn't followers come back in other difficulties. I say focus on the actuall game then rather then wasting your/our time on nastalgic/throwback brooohaha adding the followers, then taking them away when things get tough in single player.

Graphicaly I understand why none in multi, more characters on the screen means more memory consumption.

    Quote from tilite

wow... most of you went July... are you sure you don't all just want it to come out in July?

Totally agree with you on that. July just sounded like a good time to pick for beta. If they didn't have blizzcon it would probably be the case. If they release game pre blizzcon, all they will have to talk about are expansions and the next mmo. Gotta feed the PR machine!

posted a message on When Will Beta Begin?
I have faith that it will be July, if the Alpha test is going right now that's a good sign, Mike Morhaime sounded pretty optimistic about the testing they're doing right now. He could've just mentioned that work on Diablo 3 was still ongoing or something to let investors know that they're working on it. Since it's a linear game it shouldn't take long. They already have Battle.net 2.0 up and running, so they just have to make that gel if they haven't already. I say the AH sounds cool, but if there is anything that will delay the launch, that will be it. They should release the game and patch the AH in. By the time they get AH to work players will have decent items to sell. Give us our single player and PvP ASAP. Blizz can sort the rest out while we kill each other. They will be adding more content with patches, AH can be the first if that's what players REALLY want!

Regarding the other issues like bnet, legendary items, etc,

Bnet: the bugs on this won't be worked out entirely on release anyway,

PvP: as far as matchmaking goes, that's probably why we aren't able to adjust stats (as far as I know) players will be 1-5 levels of each other, they are probably focusing on overall attack and defense, not by each skill someone has.

Item drops: how many times are item stats changed in WoW? skills as well, anyone who's played that game knows i'm talking about the dumb patch list we get to read over on nerfs, and buffs while we wait for updates to load.

Bottom line is this game will never be perfect.

posted a message on May 9th Conference Call
I'm excited that the beta will be out soon. Too bad it won't be till the middle of summer. Thanks for providing a live show of the conference call. Hopefully we'll see a beta soon! I know for sure we can't say "typical Blizz and their late dates," now that activision has some sway on game decisions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an early beta release.
