This. The patch will probably be deployed on Tuesday (NA), Wednesday (EU), Thursday (Asia) next week. It's always been like that... the week before the season starts.

JNecroNHancer posted a message on A veteran returning back from the dead, lost and forgotten.Posted in: IntroductionGreetings everyone,
For the longest time now, I've been a "fan" (that is such an overused word, I'm honestly sick of it, so I'll just go with "follower") of Dungeon Crawlers (such as the Diablo series) and RPG games (such as the Final Fantasy series). At a young age, I grew up around people who played Dungeons & Dragons (yeah, I know, talk about old. The days when gaming required a pen & paper instead of a mouse & keyboard), as well as Pathfinder. These were the days when I truly began to admire and appreciate these kind of games, as well as the "art" behind them.
After that, I slowly began to expand my interest in this into outside sources (such as PC games and Magic The Gathering, yes, I know, Magic The Gathering, such a nerd). Of course, I claim absolutely no "skill" (cause like, I don't believe that "skill" is even possible on something which really just comes down to grinding, strategy, and luck) in any of these games, nor do I even consider myself a possible runner-up on the leaderboards (which are stupid to be honest, do people really need that ego boost to keep on playing?).
One of the very first games I played (outside of D&D and Pathfinder) is Diablo (for PS1). When I first got hold of this game, I immediately fell in love with the design of it and even more on a side note, I fell in love with being able to just gradually appreciate a game, being able to just sit back and explore, being able to kill if necessary and avoid if not worth my time.
Because of this game, I have further dug into the Diablo series and began thoroughly exploring these games (as well as exploring any similar games). When Diablo 2 came out, I was truly in awe of what has happened, the classic and beautiful memories of my past have been revitalized, allowing this game to take a whole new extension. Of course, now Diablo 3 is out, and even though I absolute adore that, I would have to say that it just doesn't seem to be as "sentimental" as Diablo 2, something about Diablo 2 really just stuck with me and since I got hold of it, I became addicted.
During the years of 2004 to 2013, I was spending as many hours as I possibly could playing Diablo 2. I began to run myself ragged by constantly jumping onto this game and spending hours and hours on end, endlessly grinding my character into becoming a top-notch Necromancer. Of course, all good things must come to an end (and for me, it hit hard). On April 8th 2014, my computer died on me (but then again, it was a Vista, so that is expected) and I lost all my account information as well as all my passwords and time spent.
Now, many years down the road, I have taken some time to attend college (of which I think I'm failing, but if so, I guess that's just more money down the drain, of which I don't have), expand my interests outside of Diablo (I've recently been spending more time watching YouTube and less time actually playing games). So, it brings me a great big smile to my fat face (yes, I'm overweight, ironic, I know, but I'm not obese and I don't ever plan on becoming unable to walk), I have managed to barely save up just enough cash to get Diablo 2 once again. So, you know what that means...
...JNecroNHancer has returned back to his homelands and will once again, take on Diablo himself, with or without friends. Of course, with friends would be nice, but my internet is such crap, playing online is a pain in the neck and tends to lag ever so slightly at times, and I would rather not risk putting others in danger because my internet is garbage.
So to all of you whom have been following the world of Diablo since the earliest of days, I send thee much respect and praise for keeping the community alive and teaching the newcomers of the dangers of this world and how beautiful it truly is when you abandon your ego and explore with a clear mind.
Or in other words, thanks for keeping Diablo alive and I hope to once again rejoin the ranks of "Veteran" Diablo players. Of course, I will never be as "Veteran" as I used to be back in my time, but I express great honor and respect to all those whom accept me into the community once again with open arms and a kind heart.
May you find great riches, gain extensive experience, and understand what it means to be an "untold hero".
So, thanks once again and I hope to see you all around from time to time. Take care!
(I won't be online until Thursday of this week or Tuesday of next week, my internet has been acting even worse and I'm currently getting Charter to check it out, but they're being morons and taking their sweet time)

effort in gearing? i feel like the only effort you need to put into d3 is time. who cares if the supp can get a decently geared setup after 1.5 days crafting. if theyr using theyr time blasting 90 + grifts in groups ofc they deserve the gems simply because theyr putting in the time farming em.

Heya, Sexton, I'm one of the group members of the SoS group that has been doing the tals twister wiz testing. You bring the zbarb over zDH (monk is required, tals is very squishy as you need to run PE over Eso) because for this build area damage is more of the damage then anything else. For area damage to function, you of course need that insane consistent density, as well as the ability to drag elites from each set of new density as they have so much HP in high tier rifts that you cant just kill them in 1 set of density. In most rifts, you're talking about dragging an elite usually a few screens at least. This is simply too far for DH, you end up losing more time, as well as area damage itself outshining the damage buffs that DH bring.Quote from Jelloslock»

Either way its obvious we will see like 114+ this season and both Tal and Firebirds will push at least 114.
Based on what? All the top players who tested PTR so far agree that Firebird's, after the most recent nerf, will have a hard time going past 105. With the Twister wizard SoS easily cleared 110+ yesterday. Just look at the numbers and mechanics, coupled with the experience of testing as seen by three groups yesterday (Quin, Wudijo, and the guys from SoS), paint a clear picture:
Firebird was only so strong because of "unlimited stacks", right now you get max stacks of Chantodo's+FB and that's it, which makes this build see a cap at around 105 (maybe 108-110 with extreme pushing). Almost impossible to go beyond that. Tal, however, has even increased the damage of Twisters over the DMO setup and adds some benefits (you can use a generator and the belt to have some more single target DPS, although for pushing you still need adds on an RG).
I highly doubt it will "struggle" to clear 105. Its clearing 97 in 12m solo with shit gems and paragon. It will break 100 solo. Add all the group dmg buffs and it will push that high. Sure it can't do what it was but it will clear very high. Its potential before nerf was probably in the 120s though and it was obviously broken.
Will it beat TalTwister? Who knows, but firebirds will use WD/DH + Barb or Monk(which is a lot more group dmg buffs than others if they don't drop barb or monk) vs the current Twister group using Barb/Monk/WD(still see 0 reason to have barb and monk when DH brings literally 3x more than monk or barb overall to the group). -

Ok update :
"The legendary 'The Twisted Sword' has been removed from the game entirely. Yes, even your perfected rolled one on Non-season."
"Archon ability now hits like a bitch."
"Welcome back to your wizdog status Wizards!"
I agree, the meta has to change. I prefer 3 dps and 1 support. The support role isn't too bad, but to have three is ridiculous. I just think blizz dug themselves in such a hole that dps balancing for all classes and to "keep sets interesting" is virtually impossible.
If it was 3dps+ all the 2500+ Paragon people would just team up so good luck finding a top game if you're lower.
On top of that everyone complaining about the paragon gap, well if it were 3dps+ that gap would increase 10 fold because of the reason stated above.
I agree that the twister meta needs to change but I'm glad it's a 3zdps meta because it allows 3000+ paragon players to play with 800+ paragon players which really opens up games for many many players
3dps meta seems great on the outside but it's not the right answer.
If you are a "lower" you should group with "lowers", i've seen so many noob zdps's being carried by one broken build, i've taken a friend monk which can't even solo 70+ into a 90 and we cleared it, ofc i helped her because she's my friend but she did not "deserve" to be there and raise her gems to lvl 90 since her "skill cap/character celling" is around 70... only noobies who wanna get carried defend this ridiculous 3zdps meta.
Doesn't deserve it? Lmao
People of all Paragons should be able to play together. The only thing that sounds separate should be how good your items are.
The paragon gap will go to extreme levels if it goes the way you want it too -

MrInC posted a message on 2.4.1. Patch / The Meta ThreadPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionHaha, I don't get why people hate twister gameplay that much :)) ( Maybe because of its domination over the last season ? ) I actually enjoy that gameplay, a lot.
But I agree that twister gameplay should be balanced somehow so others can be able to compete with it. I'm sure that there are others like the twister like me and destroying that gameplay just to have another domination is not really a wise move. It would be fun to see a competition among variations on the leaderboard.

Almost everything changed from the first few seasons to now.
- Different maps: In S1, it was basically all about getting Silver Spire; in S5, Crater was arguably the best. Even some cave maps (auto-skip in S1-S3) worked out in S5.
- Different mobs: Dust Eaters and Cuddle Bears, once the #1 mob type, are really bad now. For solo wizards, Winged Assassins are amazing - a mob type you would avoid like the plague in previous seasons.
- Different pylon mechanics: Pylons changed significantly over the past few seasons, in terms of what they do, in terms of how they spawn, and in terms of when to use them (and when not).
- Different RGs: In S1+2 the worst RG was Saxtris, which was by far the best in S5.
- Different playstyle: From Crusader pulling, over zero dog, perma stun with Tiklandian, and perma RG stun by crus/WD, we know arrived at pulling barbarians. The support meta has changed entirely, different skills, different playstyles.
- Twisters: You will need a lot of rifts to know all the corners for stacking Twisters. Unless you do all of that on GR20 rifts for some reason, you *will* be paragon 1000+ before you can really call yourself knowledgeable about the Twister meta.
I've played S1+2 relatively competitively (multiple top 100 rankings) and the knowledge and experience that you can recycle for the S5 meta is almost zero. It was like learning a new game.

RealGsuss posted a message on 2.4.1 Cosmetic locations + morePosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionHey there,
thanks for the list on the items, pretty helpful!
As for the cosmetics, there is already a spreadsheet going on, with a reddit post to it, so you might want to contribute to this one instead of making a new one :).
regards
edit: fixed the link, thanks

I would say to go with strength one for this build, since it should be better for your earthquakes, or that I have been told.
