posted a message on Negative Nancies
Is this some kind of moral apology to the Gods of Karma because closed beta started? Hoping that if you denounce your negative comments, you'll be bestowed with a key?

I don't really see what the point of writing this here.... if you were being negative just to whine, then make a new account and start over. If you really felt that things were designed badly, then why apologize? I continue to voice my concerns for RMAH and other factors, because I am allowed to and I think everynoe should in order to make the game as good as possible.

    Quote from Seb

I'm not even sure why I'm so excited about the Beta since it's almost sure I wont be invited.

replace "I'm" with "we're" and you got it on the money. People are just going to get even more depressed when they realize that it is quite a lottery to get into beta. And when you don't get in, all you're going to be doing is watching the same gameplay that is already out over and over again, possibly in a nicer format once the press is allowed to post stuff.

I don't get why people SPECIFICALLY line up junk food for video game playing. Unless I smoke a joint and get the munchies, I hate having that sh*t food near me if I'm playing.

    1) Chocolate/chips makes your hands dirty, and Im not a slob who has orange dust on his keyboard.
    2) Coca-cola/etc... just makes you thirstier. The dude who said "2 hydrogen 1 oxygen" is the man. Water, or green tea, or something decent.
    3) Most of all, I eat whole, healthy meals, whenever I'm hungry. If I'm thirsty, I get a drink. I don't need to line up 60000 calories worth of junk to play the game. Maybe I'll order a pizza or something on release day to treat myself..

The personal trainer, though, goes a bit far. Optimizing sleep cycles? Come on man. I don't even do that for my law exam, for weight training or anything else VASTLY more important than a video game. If you're falling asleep, go to sleep, its simple!

posted a message on BETA INVITES STARTED UP!
Makes no difference if he's lying or telling the truth... we'll know exactly when beta starts because Dfans will be playing it first day. In the matter of whether beta keys are being handed out... again, if you get one, you'll be emailed, and otherwise not. And the chances are no different, still tiny to get in, so everyone calm your horses. There's a lot of heartbreak to come. Everyone feels like they'll get into beta, like its their special time, yet probability and numbers don't lie.

posted a message on D3 vs Skyrim 4 game of the year
I find it hilarious that people are contemplating Game of the Year between a game that has thus far only been shown in videos and hasn't even started its beta, against another game which we've seen barely anything of.

In terms of the whole game, you're comparing an online experience to a singleplayer one. Skyrim will have more depth, better graphics and a much more complex system of progression as per their series. D3 will be much faster, more fluid, and based on the economy of online players. Apples and oranges. Regardless, to give D3 the edge or vice versa is stupid, you haven't played either, you're speculating at this point, and who's to say Battlefield 3 won't take Game of the Year honours? Why does it have to be an RPG? I guarantee Portal 2 is taking home some awards too..

But is there something wrong with a gaming fansite to openly express negative opinions about the game? I mean this site is great, the people and staff are great and there's always updates and content, but they go too far in praising everything Blizzard does. I'm much too lazy to wade through news posts, but they seemingly stick in adjectives like "But Blizzard magnificently squashes the problems of the real-money AH by..." and stuff like that. They report the news and talk about all the negative feedback of the RMAH and other D3 news automatically on the defensive side.

Obviously, its a fansite dedicated to D3. But you're not showing the game the proper respect unless you critically evaluate all its aspects, especially the biggest and most earth-shattering of them. That's what turns me off sometimes reading the news on this site, it seems like blind subscription to whatever Blizzard does. I'd wager if they announced a subscription fee, no matter what the number, they'd be like "Well a subscription fee ensures the game will be maintained forever! And what's X amount of dollars a month? That's like not drinking coffee 3 times!"

posted a message on They are aiming for a 2011 release
If anyone thinks the game is still coming out after finding out that an open beta is not starting until at least July, then that's pretty delusional. Their comments saying they are aiming for 2011 is just a morale boost as someone said above, it's much easier to say we are aiming for 2011 and then when its obvious it won't happen, they'll come out and say it won't be ready until Q1 2012. Besides, if they say Q3, that doesn't even mean July, it means August. Expect a good 3-4 months of testing, plus a nice period between end of beta and release, and you're probably looking at Feb-March 2012. Just in time for me to finish my degree =D
