I'm a little torn on this... On one hand I'm happy to know that the game has a lot to offer after the campaign. On the other hand, it is disappointing that campaign isn't very challenging and becomes a grind to get to the end.
Excellent, thanks for all the feedback. I am going to keep bumping up the difficulty as I unlock it. You guys say the first play through is slow, but it feels like I'm running through it now. I'll keep going and look forward to playing at level 70.
I will check to see if I can go up more. I'm already on Hard, and I've never even been close to death.
My current strategy is to run to get as many enemies on screen as possible so I can get the biggest massacre and XP bonus. Currently my best is 187ish.
Killing the Butcher, Maghda, Ghom took about 30 seconds, Belial took a minute or so. I have no need to dodge, use tactics, chase health drops... I just stand in front of them and swing until they fall.
I can't tell you the years that I poured into D2. For some reason it took me awhile to want to even play D3. I bought it with my PS4, but it sat while I played all the other games.
So, this Christmas break I finally started. I picked a Crusader for the first play through. I started initially on Normal difficulty and dug in. I'm enjoying the game, but it really is not challenging at all. By the end of Act 1 I had upped the difficulty to Hard (the other levels are locked), but I haven't even broke a sweat with anything.
No, I'm not the greatest player in the world, in fact I am intentionally playing with some pretty bad tactics. That's where I have some concerns.
Ive just started Act 3 and my Crusader is already level 40. He deals about 3000 damage, and that seems fairly normal. In the boss fights I've faced so far, none have done any damage it me, my health has never been lower than 90% and it is only there for a split second. That's because my defense rating is 51.5k.

I've unlocked Master now, so I will go up the next time I play.
