Binkles the frog was a simple frog that lived with its group near a river on Great Marsh. When the events of Diablo 2 happened to corrupt Kurast many of its inhabitants turned into evil creatures demoted from any natural instinct of survival to be controlled only by pure murderous intent.
Binkles was also altered during this time, but instead of becoming a hellish evil creature, it became aware of many superior thoughts and its place on the world of Sanctuary. It’s life was also extended, and its uncertain how many years it will last (Binkles is, by the beginning of Diablo 3, 20 years old).
Foreseeing that a great Evil was about to return, it travelled from Kurast to Lut Gholein on a merchant ship and them to Khanduras and New Tristram by one of many caravans heading west. His arrival was meticulously planned for 2 weeks before the meteor’s fall.
Although Binkles pursues the same mission of the heroes, their paths will probably never cross, cause Brinkles the Frog, knows that men already failed 3 times to destroy evil (prior Diablo 1, Diablo 1 and Diablo 2) and it seriously doubts that mankind will be able to put an end in Hell’s invasion. -

Apr 11, 2011123Vash456 posted a message on Level Cap? Why?They may raise the cap in expansion, but not because it has to be 99 or 100. If its planned to get at lvl 60 at the end og the game, what will we do on an extra act? Just more gear or gold? Other than that, the new content should be harder and with more challenges, if you can´t level up it means that your max stat, may not be enough to have a fun experience. Would be possible to finish the expo, but unnecessarily hard.Posted in: News
EDTI: just though this.
- You reach 60 near the final Act 4 boss of "Hell".
- A new act from an expo will be added to "Normal" and "Nightmare" too.
- This means that we gonna have 2 more act before reaching the old Act 4 boss of Hell.
- So, to reach the old Act 4 boss, passing trhough 2 more acts, you gain more levels and find more gear.
- In result, theoretically, the Act 4 boss of Hell will be eassier to beat with an expo (because you have more time till you reach it), than will be if you play the original game.
= How will they fix this paradox?
In D2, they "corrected" this by adding all monsters to act 5 of Nm and Hell, but is boring (and not very creative) to fight monsters non related to the act lore, just for making the game harder, or as hard as it should. Hope they can do better this time. -
Feb 11, 2011123Vash456 posted a message on Blizzard Hopes to Release Diablo III in 2011Blizzard saw how Starcraft 2 was well received. It knows that a good franchise can´t be put aside, and when Diablo 3 comes out it will rule over all others.Posted in: News
I dont´t think they will rush to give us the game, but I also don´t think they will hold its production and beta for more time that is necessary, just to avoid competition with other games or to hype even more the community.
I truly belive that "when is done" is for real, not just a trolling anwser to all release date questions. -
Jan 20, 2011123Vash456 posted a message on Two Stashes, No Jewels, New Shrines and the Enigmatic SentryI wish we had Shrines like we had in Diablo 1. Random Reallocation of points, less durability, mana decrease, +1 to Skill..you know, good and bad shrines.Posted in: News
D2 Shrines are so boring, they are always good for you (except the Fire one), always temporary, and you never have them you when you need.
Imagine you making Shrine runs, looking for one that gives you permanent +5 Life Points or +10 to Attack Rating. Much more fun than finding one Stamina Shrine.
BTW...if I was in charge of Burning Hells, I´d fill the Sanctuary with disguised non-friendly shrines

This pretty much epitomises what I said on another thread: they're trying to push us into an arcade-type gameplay. PLEASE: LESS GOD OF WAR, MORE D&D.
Totally Agree. more RPG less cheesy action :geek: ... but I wouldn´t mind having one "Bloody Palace" kind of level just for fun :wink: - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Already a favorite.
Also old school games like Wolf, Doom, Duke Nukem and SNES and Master System games. Diablo 2 I guess I did play Diablo 1 a lot but I never get hardcore to it so I won´t say it as one of my top list.

1 - Bots for ads; 2 - Bots for rushes; 3 - No in-game transfer system;
4 - Lack of personalization at end game since everybody uses the same Builds and exactly the same itens (forced, cause others builds and gears would suck in Hell);
5 - Temp ban while playing legit;
6 - always worried about dupes when trading;
7 - Useless NPCs (gold for what? Buying Tomes?);
8 - primitive/fail crafting system;
9 - broken runewords;
10 - Full imunities (prevents you for experimenting in solo games);
11 - Over dependency on Hirelings; 12 - excess of shitty itens; 13 - lag/instability;
14 - graphics (not Blizzard´s fault I know);
15 - Lack of new content (like more pandemonium events and D clone stuff).
Most of these probably can´t be corrected cause the core game has its limits, but others (dupes and bots) Blizzard clearly fails to solve. All this plus item shops and vicious character leveling services ($10 for a lvl 90 char. $#%@ you). After so much time I can´t overlook them anymore. I will always remember Diablo 2 as my most played game (for now atleast), but I moved on and I´m happily waiting for D3.

No intent to play Demon hunter or Monk. Never liked ranged (except casters) characters and Monk´s skills looks too much like something from Dragon Ball.

New PC will be needed.
I´m curious to see what Time Warp skill will do with different runes. Faster Cast rate to allies in the blob? Faster Regen?

Having a new place would be epic for sure, but seeing our old landmarks destroyed by a meteor or exploded by Angel, that would be priceless

Blizzard´s past is what ironically makes me think like that. They are well known for being evasive and all that "soon" and "when its done" things, so if they are finnaly announcing a date (or a period) I have no problem believing in it. There would be no difference in keeping us in the dark for 2-3 more months, if they picked up the callendar and said "this month" they should be pretty close to finishing the game.
If they dont.. I really dont care that much. They launch when its done and I play when its launched.

... hmm five minutes later we see lamborghini exiting Diablo Fan´s office tower... interesting :whistling:

EDIT. I use Firefox (+ ad block, idk if this matter) and I see nothing, but with IE, I get one between the digest an blue topics and one below the final post. Anyway, I think its an acceptable amount. Someone have to pay for this.
Could be worse.. we could have those ##@$$ pop ups that follows when you scroll the page. lol that would kill the site.

But now I´m looking forward to the new system, seems fun, surely give a try.

But Blizzard loves secret levels and Easter eggs... I expect some heavy rainbow area, an unicorn level, or at least some big references to these things.

I don't like saying WD = Necro, Barb = Barb, Sorc = Wizz, although its true. If you think in functionality you wont have the "DH = (1/3 Sin) + (2/3 Zon)" kind of mathematical aproach.
We have basic archetypes and lots of characteristcs to mess with, such as contraptions, auras, pets, vsual, shouts...
In D2 I made few serious characters. 1 Throwing Barb (extremely fun! you should do it!), 1 Necro (Summon+ Corpse Explosion), 2 Paldins (Frost-Zeal and Hammer), and 7-9 Sorcs (most of them meteorbs). I guess I will do the same (proportions wise) with Barb (if I can throw stuff), WD, and mainly Wizz. Really don´t care about Monk, DH, as I never cared for any Sin, Zon, Druid. Let´s see what expansion brings...
