Gratz on the drop and lots of respect for playing without donations from friends or buying from AH. That's the real way to do it, although I have to admit that I am using the AH myself.

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
This is my monk build. Focus is on damage and speed, not so much survivability. So probably not a realistic build come inferno.

    Good luck everyone :)

posted a message on Sleep paralysis and Lucid dreaming.
Hi guys, I've also been experiencing sleep paralysis and feel compelled to reply to this thread because there are a couple of things mentioned that seem very similar to things I have experienced.

I started having sleep paralysis as a teenager, and I used to be very afraid of it. I had never heard about it and thought it might be a dangerous condition - I kept thinking: what if you can get stuck in that state where your body sleeps but your mind is awake, and you are unable to move? Now I have gained a bit more insight into why this happens to me, and it is quite simply something I experience only when I deprive myself of sleep. I am studying computer science, and the last couple of years it has happened to me quite often when I have fallen asleep during lectures. This is something I can not recommend! I never wake up in the night experiencing sleep paralysis, it's something I move into directly from being awake. My body falls asleep but my mind stays awake. So while I fall into sleep paralysis there in the auditorium I feel my body slide to the side and I can feel that myself enter an awakard position, and there is nothing you can do about it - that's really uncomfortable. The funny thing is I can sometimes move my hands and feet, while this is happening, but for example I can still not open my eyes. About the noise you were hearing Umpa, I feel I understand what you mean by this. When I fall into sleep paralysis, I have this feeling that somehow my ears "relax" - they also go to sleep. This has the effect that I can suddenly hear a kind of noise, sort of like white noise, that would normally get filtered away when awake and it is also really loud to me.

I have a question actually, for anyone who have experienced sleep paralysis. Have you every experienced that you start "clapping" your teeth uncontrollably? I have this very very often during sleep paralysis, and it's pretty annoying. My jaw just starts to "spasm" and, sort of like when you are freezing, I start clapping my teeth or opening/closing my mouth very rapidly. Only small movements - its not like my mouth is wide open :P The only thing I can do really is to put my tongue between my teeth to prevent it from making any sounds. Yeah, I can control my tongue during sleep paralysis.

I have also experienced lucid dreamning, and my strongest memory is from many years back. It was no crazy dream or anything, but I was floating around in the house I was living in. Hovering on my back, as if I was lifted straight out of bed (I always sleep on my back). Everything was quiet and I was there alone, but the sensation of just hovering freely through the rooms of the house was extremely intense. I felt incredibly safe and warm somehow. I specifically remember just hanging there just below the ceiling, almost touching the wooden planks with my stomach. I have heard that "flying dreams" are pretty common though.

That was my story. I hope that sometime in the future there will be more research into what causes sleep paralysis and why it happens.

posted a message on Female Witch Doctor Armor Set
If you take this item set out of it's Diablo context I think it is very nice and good looking. But this is a Diablo set and I think it is way too colorful to fit in the dark and scary Diablo universe. I think it looks like someone going to a dress party more than it looks like a demon-killing hero.
And then again, there are some very colorful animals in nature that are at the same time very deadly - I'm a bit split on this set.

posted a message on Blue Tracker issue again (Multiple posts of the same post)
Same issue for me - I'm running the same Windows and Chrome version as you, so I can't say if it is specific for this configuration. I heard Bashiok mention something about Chrome issues at some point? Not sure if it was related to this particular problem though.

Edit: oh actually im running Chrome 7.0.517.36 beta, but it's still here.

posted a message on Drugs/drug policy
Very interesting research! Is it possible that you could post the name of the article(s) ? I would love to read more about this.

I think most of the people I have met have been of the opinion that all drugs are almost equally bad - it's fact to them that they will all damage you and ruin your life. To me that seems like a big misconception and I very much welcome research like this. I know they are not saying that some drugs are not harmful, but they point out that not all drugs are equally bad.

My own opinion is that there are good and bad drugs. The good drugs in my mind are things like LSD and psilocybin - you can't really get addicted to them (you develop strong resistance that fades over time), they don't harm anything physically in your body (like meth amph. damages skin tissue), the way they are administered don't harm your body (like needles or sniffing would), you don't get aggressive etc. I like this analogy with cars - cars are dangerous and powerful tools and you are in great risk of getting hurt somehow if you drive without proper education. It is the same case with these good drugs as you should not use them if you don't know what you are doing. You can get mental problems if you are not mentally healthy and then drop acid. But if you do use them properly, with care in the right setting and environment they can also be very "useful" and to some extend safe. And the bad drugs? Stay away from them :)

I also think too many people forget to make a distinction between drug use and drug abuse :)
